Mona three-beated into the land. Her nares were filled with the scent of other horses. Her orbs glanced around her, studying the land. She wanted to explore, to see if she would like to live here if things with Batty didn't go as planned. They didn't seem to be going anywhere, and he seemed to have another mare on his mind. Mona didn't want to be pushed aside and forgotten. She wanted to belong to a herd that cared about her.
So far the Painted Forests seemed wonderful, and Mona knew she'd enjoy living here. She did need other things, like a mate, but she'd worry about that later. First she'd have to find another horse, before getting to heavy about this herd.
The area was defiantly a plus, and she could smell many horse scents, so she knew she'd have companions and possibly a mate here. Seems perfect.
Her audits and orbs moved towards a sound coming from the bushes not to far away. Mona's nares filled with a scent that was totally new to her. she perked her ears, arched her neck and swished her tail.

Flashy golden buckskin coat shined from the blaring rays of the sun up ahead. Despite the fact that the sun was out and in full blast, it wasn't really that hot. The trees that surrounded the stallion provided the shade that was required on this spring day. Nares quivering, the stag sighed with pleasure. Spring was here and he was far happier now that it was. Winter was left behind, sometimes the stallion just wished it'd stay gone, forever. But no, it just keeps coming back every darn year. Oh well, you can't wish away the cold.
As Vastos moved his sun-kissed frame through his land, his body was lined in delight. The way his pillars moved him forward, showed that he was completely satisfied, for if you watched him, you would see he added a little extra snap as he bent his legs in his trot. Giving him a dignified appearance, as well because of his bowed neck. With a quick inhalation of air, he caught the wavering scent of an equine, and a mare at that. A lazy smile curled the edges of his ebon velveteens. Quickly, he strode towards the scent, acoustics flickering back and forth as he made his way.
With a heave of his powerful haunches, his large and muscular frame, broke through the bushes in his path. His heavy boned head took part of the impact and broke through the bushes faster than the rest of his bodice. With a crash his front pistons hit the turf, powerful boa twisted and his mahogany orbs laid to rest upon a femme standing not far from him. A slightly nervous expression flickered through his orbs, before he swiped it away and acquired a confident air. "Greetings mare, I am blessed Vastos, King of these lands. May I ask the reason for your appearance upon my land?"

Mona's nares filled with the scent of a stallion she'd never met before, and she smiled. Someone new, a friend or a mate anything. She just had to take her mind off of Batty right now. Despite saying he loved her, he'd still messed with her head, and she didn't know what she wanted right now.
As the stallion spoke to her, she felt her nerves creep up. Another lead stallion. Lead stallions could have basically any mare they pleased, so he probably would just settle for anything.
Mona smiled still, bowing her head out of respect. I am Mona, and I was just searching for a home and possibly a mate m'lord. I was going to join another herd, but I don't know how that is going to work out. She kept the smile on her face, not wanting to bring anyone else's mood down.

A small smile etched on his face and his brown orbs lighted in a pleasant manner as he watched her. His pillars carried him closer but he stopped a couple feet from her, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable. He was sure she knew this was the light lands, but one could never be to careful in a foreign territory. So for those reasons, he kept his distance. Vastos tossed his golden head, and a large section of his ebony mane flew to the side, his forelock cast down upon his facade, covering his left eye only slightly. A low chuckle came from his parted kissers as she bowed and spoke her reasons. With a quick movement he stretched out his right front leg and gave the earth a quick tap with his piston, before drawing it back under himself, to steady his golden frame.
"First off, Mona, there is no need to bow to me. You bow to the King of the Lights, not a lead stallion. Though the respect is appreciated." The stallion's eyes sparkled in good humor and his lazy smile on grew further by her gesture of respect. Vastos was a quite laid back Lead Stallion. He didn't demand the respect that great from his mares. As long as they knew he was in authority over them, and they followed what he did say. The respect from doing as he bid was enough to satisfy him, however he did not tolerate trouble makers. "I am pleased that you are considering my humble lands as perhaps your new home, though I can not promise you a mate, however, you shall have protection and will be loved. Though I am not sure I will love you in the way that you seek. Only time tells of that." He gave her a gentle smile as he finished his statement.

Mona nodded as he spoke, she would bow to him still. It was just a habit of hers. She'd been brought up to bow to all lead stallions and mares. It was just something she did sometimes.
She nodded as Vastos continued to speak. To be honest with you, I don't know what I'm looking for anymore. I guess I just need someone to talk to, to know I can confide in. I belong to another herd, but it's been very dramatic over there lately. I just really wanted this to be like my second home. Where I could come and just be, and forget all my problems. She sighed and chuckled quietly. That sounded a lot better in my head, but now it just seems silly. I'm sorry if you feel I've wasted your time. She felt her cheeks heat up, and she flicked her gaze to the ground, feeling embarrassed and stupid.

He nodded with understanding, the stallion, some considered, wise beyond his years. I suppose some would think he was doing that 'wise' thing now. Truthfully, he didn't consider himself wise. He just thought he was reasonable. But, some tended to disagree with that statement. Hey, you can't win 'em all. Vastos's ebony banner swung up to his side, smacking his flank, with a resounding 'thump'. His acoustics pricked forward, listening to her lyrics with calmness.
"Mona, honestly, I don't mind if you come here once in awhile. It seems, life is being quite hard on you as of late. You are welcome in my home, anytime you feel the ned to get away." What an eloquent speech, eh? - Not. Ah well, the stallion thought, he tried his best. Sometimes it was just so hard to understand mares. Not that it was a bad thing, for he was sure that he was confusing at times too. "My time is never wasted in the company of a lady." He gave her a warm smile that lit up his mahogany brown eyes.

Mona smiled as the stallion's words soothed her embarrassment. Vastos seemed really nice, and it had been wrong for Mona to come here and be rather over dramatic when things hadn't even settled with Batty yet. I should have waited, to see what would happen, before jumping to these massive conclusions.
She bowed her head to Vastos, her tail swishing and her neck arched. I should be on my way Vastos. Thank you for being so understanding in my time of need. I am forever in your debt m'lord. She nodded her head one last time, before turning and trotting off towards her own home. She had to go see Batty, to say sorry for how dramatic she'd been. It wasn't that she was sure she'd caused most of the problem, it just seemed like the easiest way to fix it. To take all the blame.
