A mare that was black as night with a white star stepped into the land. She had an icy aura about her but in her eyes you could see abit of kindness. She stood under a giant tree to await for those who would come

After awhile the mare grew tired of just standing and waiting so she walked over to a small stream she saw and started to drink some of soothing cold water to wet her dry throat. She looked around and didn't see not even one living soul. She decided that if a stallion or another mare didn't come by she would leave this land to wander around till she would find a herd or stallion to live with. She turned away from the stream and trotted up to the center of a small area of trees to relax in so no one would notice her . She than closed her eyes to rest knowing if any wranglers or another horse couldn't see her unless she wanted them to.

The mare awoke. She blinked afew times for her eyes to focuse. She looked around again not seeing anything or anyone. She snorted, she was getting tired and impatient for she wasn't someone who liked to wait. She streched her legs out. She canter around to get feeling back into body and awake her fully. She than went to the stream again to get a sip of water and than found a patch of tasty grass to fill her stomach. She remembered her mother at times like this questions running through her head like Is she alive still, What happened to, Where is she, Will I ever see her, will I forever be alone, will i get captured by wranglers, will I ever be accepted or will I be forever forgotten. Those thoughts scared her very much that is why she hoped to be in a herd or with a stallion soon.

"Hello my dear, Phate is here."
The familiar vocals slid of his tongue in a satisfying way, sort of like cool water on a blazing day. A a small mare, almost ponyish, stood in front of him, looking restless and annoyed. She stood within an area of trees, sheltering from the merciless winds and frost.
Feathered daggers led him under the shelter also, warm puffs of breath going up in steam. A fore-leg dug at the crisp, frosty blades.
"What's a young nymph doing here, wandering all alone?"
He asked, not really caring. It was always good to be 'polite' as many called it, though he thought it was just plain stupid. Why not just waltz in and claim whatever he liked? Why ask questions and give them a choice to come with you? Oh well, unfortunately, Phate did not make the rules.
Rolling his eyes, he watched her, his gaze piercing her mind, trying to intimidate the young mare.

Topaz looked at the arrogant stallion, she rolled her eyes at him. "I don't know who you are calling nymph it certainly better not be me for I have no time for a egotistic stallion who thinks he can get what or whoever he wants! Why do you even bother to be polite when you don't want to be if you think that will impress anyone you must be joking."she said bluntly. She watched him, daring to make a move towards her. "If you think I'm a weak and naive mare. I can reassure you I'm not I'm taken care of myself since I was alittle foal and I can take care of myself now. What do you have to say to that?" She said bravely. She moved farthar back into the trees so he could see her very good but close enough for her to see him.

Phillipa kicked Murphy on. The piebald gelding went forward to a steady trot, his neck arched. He would do anything to please his mistress. Murphy had always been at the hands of man, taking in the horses from the wild, to lead a life in captivity. He stopped as he saw her. The black mare. He knew what to do. He walked forward, and winnied to her, in a freindly tone.
"What bvrings a mare, such as your self to these parts? I am Murphy" He said. He waited for a responce from the mare, as always. He hjad done this many times, and never failed once.
Phillipa got her rope redy. This mare would make an excellent wrangler horse. She kept th rope hidden from the horses sight, and sat stock still, and didn't utter a sound. Murphy knew what to do. He had done this hundruds of times before.

Topaz looked away from Phate and looked at the horse named Murphy. She quickly backed up. " I'm not stupid. You and your human." she spat with her ears down."Are here to capture me." She bared her teeth and snorted in warning. She looked at the human ontop of him than back at the horse. "How can you live through that. Having a human on you and helping them capture us who are free to make us their pets. You're no better than the ones I met when I was just alittle filly, who helped thier humans take my mother to break her will." She than reared and ran to the stream and jumped over it gracefully. She turned to face them. " I mean really why would horses want to be with humans when they could run free not do as told.

Phate's eyes blazed with anger as this mare dared to defy him. He arched his boa proudly and his grimaced slightly. He did not want to harm the mare, but if she continued to anger him, well, let's just say she would be sorry.
"You dare call me self-centered, you little wench?!"
Phate exclaimed, dark eyes glinting with the fire of the devil. She was awfully blunt, perfect for a dark mare. Maybe a duchess? No, only if she learned to respect him would she get such an honor.
"Mare, what is your cursing?"
He asked, exchanging nymph for mare in an attempt to play along. He smirked as she backed away slightly.
Head was jerked farther up as he heard the distinctive hoof-falls of a domestic equine. Baring his teeth at the stallion, he watched the two converse. The mare was quite haughty with him, lecturing the stallion.
"Get out of here, your just a useless pet."
He snapped at the stallion. These trap horses were sent out by the humans all the time. This pair were particularly stupid, because the human was still sitting on the other equine at the time.

Topaz rolled her eyes at both stallion at their stupity. "Would both of you shut your traps, you're giving me a headache."She watched both of them careful for she knew she was angrier the dark one and she didn't trust the other who had a human ontop. "I don't like both of you for different reasons. You"she looked at Phate"because you are arrogant. and you"looking at Murphy."because you do as humans bid you." She backed afew steps still watching the two stallions who had been bickering. She thought they were ridculous. She thought it was very amusing though on how both were trying to trick her to come to them. "Like I said earlier I'm not a naive weakling. If I have to prove so be it." She told them daring one to take a step towards her.She bared her teeth threatingly.

Murphy reared up, hooves pawing at the air. He would not be insulted by this mare! She was smaller that him, and he could take her down. He didn't notice that his mistress was slipping off his back. He went higher in her air, tossing his head
"Don't you dare insult me"
He hissed. He came to the floor with a thud, making the nearby bushes shake their leaves.
Phillipa felt herself slipping off Murphy's back. She held on as he reared higher, sending a warning nicker to the wild horses. She was shaken when his heavily feathered feet hit the ground, and slid off his back. She was horrified that her horse didn't seem to notice, or care that she was on the ground. She knew the battle was lost, and walked as quietly as she could, into the undergrowth. Murphy would come to her in his own time, and when he had finished with the other horses.

Topaz chuckled when the horse made his "precious human" fall without him even noticing. When he reared though she pinned her ears back not letting the stallion intamidate her. "If you think you scare me you have got to be joking"she laughed hollowly."I bet you never fought another horse, I've beaten horses your size so don't even try" She spat, her eyes ablazed. She than snorted angerly." Now if you're done bothering me I think I'll be leaving now." She said heading toward the exit of the land. She stayed on full alert while she walked away. She knew should never go with the stallion Phate for he was dark but she thought theother stallion was amusing on how she could anger him so quickly, she wondered what he would do know, probably find his human she thought disgusted. Never would she forgive humans for taking her mother away from her

Phate snorted angrily, nares flared. This mare and this pet stallion thought they could insult him. Well, not without consequences! Phate strode towards the exiting mare and stood in front of her, eyes blazing, piercing into the mare.
"You dare walk away from me, who could keep you safe and warm in a herd? You dare defy and insult me?"
He hissed, snaking his nape and crown towards her, baring his teeth. Really, he would not fight her just yet, but maybe he would have to inflict some nasty bites before she listened. Ignoring the pet stallion, he glared at her with the intensity of the sun.
"Little mare, I doubt you could even defeat a foal of mine, let alone a stallion. Even if he is a pet."
He said, almost calmly, though he spat the ending out. Behind his words were a sick meaning. She thought she was almighty, that she could do whatever she liked. Well, she was deathly wrong.

Murphy pinned his ears back as the mare began to leave. He watched as the other stallion blocked her path. He stood to the side fo her, so she was boxed in. She couldn't leave now. The other stallion could have her as far as he was concerned. He didn't care for this mare any way, but he wanted to teach her a lesson.
"You won't leave here alone, unless you bring down both of us"
He snorted. He had forgotten about Pillipa, who was now cowering in a tree. He suddenly felt the urge to be able to run free, and not have a human controlling him where ever he went. He brought his head down, and snapped the bridle that was still on his face. He suddenly found it very annoying, and the bit was particularly uncomfortable. It felt good to have it off his face, but the saddle still remained. There was nothing he could do about that right now though. He was still concentrating on the mare in front of him.
