Kenya
A small smile covered her face and seemed to lighten and give life to her emerald green eyes. The land around her seemed so full of life, enough to erase her unhappy mood and return her usual smile to her face. As she sat on the grass of the park, she felt the sun warm her back with its rays of light. Her legs were crossed, indian style, and her arms rested slightly on them, letting her hands hang down partially. With her eyes closed, she allowed the fuzzy sensation of the heat encompass her entire body. A barely audible, content sigh came from her part lips, with her right hand she fiddled with the hem of her light blue denim capris. Being in the park was setting her at ease. Surrounded by nature and the gifts of renewed life, spring was her absolute favorite season. Always brightening her day whenever she finished looking after all the sick animals. Which so happened to be the reason that she wasn't feeling like her perky usual self. She was slightly depressed, and not all smiles like per usual. The lines under her eyes showed that she hadn't slept like she should, and needed to. The last four days had been a living nightmare in her opinion, the amount of animals that had been needed to be euthanized was at its peak for some reason. True, this was her career, but she never got used to having to end a life of an animal, even if it was to stop suffering. Which was the only way she could do it, because she knew, the animal would hurt more otherwise. Her small smile faded and she leaned back, unfolded her legs so that she lay sprawled out across the grass, her long chocolate hair lay around in an un-orderly fashion. With her right hand she held up her head and her left hand she lay resting on her stomach. The muscles in her weary body relaxed and she allowed herself to stop thinking about her work for a few brief moments, trying to wish away the worries that came with her job.

Jimmy trudged through the park grounds. The sound of small children squealing, and running around, was blanked out, buy the loud music playing in his ears from his black iPod. He looked like some sort of living shadow, walking through the park. A black silhouette. Picnickers gave him suspicious glances, as if he was some sort of serial killer. What was wrong with them? All he was, was some teenager walking through the park. He didn't see what was so strange about him. Where he was from, there were loads of people like him. But here there seemed to be less. Infact he hadn't seen any one like him. Still, what did that matter? He was here to get away from his mother, and to forget about his old girlfriend. He not to think of the tatoo, that bared her name.
He hadn't noticed the girl, sprawled across the ground, until he had to walk around her to get passed. She would probably be like the rest. Give him a wary look, and move away, likt he had some horrible desies. Then the music stopped blasting in to his ears. That was odd...the song hadn't finished yet. With a sigh of frustration, and annoyance, he took his iPod out of his pocket and started to fiddle around with it. Why did it have to break now?

Kenya
With her eyes still closed she lifted her left hand and snatched a blade of the emerald colored grass, placing it between her lips in a fluid motion. A ghost of her previous smiles' strayed onto her face, with some effort she kept it there. A rather loud squeal of a child nearby, jerked Kenya out of her relaxation, or at least an attempt at relaxation. Suppressing the urge to roll her eyes, she instead, closed them again. Trying to drift into the land of dreams, easy for some people, not her. Kenya was a light sleeper, always had been as long as she could remember. The slightest thing could wake her up, which made trying to go to sleep, lying in a park, slightly difficult. Okay, that's an understatement, try massively difficult.
When she was so sure that she was finally drifting to sleep, music jerked her, once again, from her relaxation period. With a slightly annoyed expression on her face she brought both of her hands back and pushed herself upward to a sitting position. Breathing deeply she calmed herself, usually she was patient, today just wasn't a good day. Once she was calm, which didn't take but a couple of seconds, she turned around. First noting, before she saw the person, that the music had stopped. Her eyes widened about one millimeter as she saw the teen. He was, to say the least, different? Unique? Whatever term you want to use for it. Her right eyebrow quirked up and she stood quickly. Brushing her capris off with both hands. Walking over, in a pretty confident manner, she smiled and held out her hand. "Hey, I'm Kenya." Surely he was new, because if she had seen him before, she would have remembered. No one in this town looked like this guy...

Jimmy hit his iPod one last time before giving up. The stupid thing just had to break now, when he couldn't a new one. He looked up as the girl who had been laying on the grass. He could see past the friendly face. She was shocked by his appearance. He just about stopped himself from rolling his eyes. "Jimmy" he said "Though some call me St. Jimmy, or Jesus of Suburbia". He had adopted the name 'Jesus of Suburbia' a while back, when he was part of the 'Lost and Found'. He never knew how it came about, but he quite liked it.
A small child screamed. He looked over and saw a boy of the age of about five or six staring at him with wide, terrified eyes. He resisted the urge to shout 'What's your problem!' at it. He felt his phine buzz as he got a text. He unslid his phone and read it. It was another from his mother, asking where he had gone, and begging him to come back. It was filled with loads of junk about how much she loved him. Ha! He stuffed his phone back into his pocket. He wasn't going to go back to Suburbia any time soon.

Kenya
Kenya's green eyes glanced down at the iPod for a moment, before returning to look up at his face. Confusion flickered in her eyes as he didn't shake her hand, with a small shrug of her shoulders she let her hand drop. Okay, she knew some people weren't touchy-feely, so she couldn't exactly get annoyed. It made sense, why would he want to shake a strangers hand? Oh well. With some difficulty she suppressed the urge to sigh in disappointment. Call her weird, but she liked shaking hands, hugging, etcetera. With her right hand she fiddled with the hem of her light cream tank top, trying to do something so her mind didn't wander. Her smile returned as he responded to her question, green eyes lighted with interest. "Interesting nicknames, I think I'll stick to Jimmy, if you don't mind" Her smile grew and her gaze wandered, she wasn't used to people who looked like this. It wasn't a bad thing, it was just something knew. Her gaze took in his spiky hair and every other physical attribute. Despite looking like that, he seemed nice enough. Besides, everyone is entitled to look however they want.
"You new?" Tada, the question of the day. Practically everyone she met, she asked this. I guess you could call it a habit of hers. Despite her being new herself, she had managed to find a phonebook filled with all the names of the current residents of the town, there for, she knew if someone was new or not. So not quite a habit, just a conversation starter perhaps. Generally some people take the question as asking about where they're from, it depended on the person though. Glancing back down at the iPod, she shot him a questioning look. "What were you listening to?"

Jimmy saw the confused expression cross Kenya's face. Did she want him to shake her hand or something? She obviously hadn't met any one like him. People like him didn't shake hands. Maybe you would get a punch in the face, but not a hand shake. He stopped himself from rolling his eyes again. Jimmy was so dull. He liked his nicknames, but there was nothing really he could do about being called plain old Jimmy. He shrugged "Whatever you want." He said. It may have seemed rude, but where Jimmy came from, it was the norm.
This place seemed like a small town, so if she hadn't seen him before, then the answer was probably yes. It was kind of an obviouse question in his terms. "Yeah. I came three days a go" he replied. The small chid that had screamed, was now cying it's eyes out, and yelling for it's mother. Was he really that scary? These people were pathetic! He looked back at Kenya, as she asked what he had been listening to "Greenday" he said, a little bluntly. There wasn't much to it. It was just a band. So long as the music was good, Jimmy didn't care what he listened to.

Kenya
Hm... Well, that's a new one. Not so much as a spark of any emotion. Of course, she knew that some people didn't show emotions, unlike her, she wore her heart on her sleeve. Or something like that. "Don't get excited on my account" She said in a joking tone, trying to lighten the mood. Despite the fact that he didn't seem interested in talking to her, she was interested in talking. Plus getting to know him, asking questions, as some people call it, being nosey. She liked to get to know people, and he seemed interesting, like no other people she had met. Which made her want to talk to him all the more.
"Awesome" She responded with a bright smile. For some reason she found herself wondering if people like him got irritated when they were around someone who was all smiles. Whatever, she couldn't exactly change who she was on whim. Her green eyes flickered over to the little kid, but she made no move to go comfort him. Nothing she could do, she would probably just end up scaring it more. Generally she was good with kids, but seeing as she was standing with the guy that scared the kid, probably wasn't going to help if she went over there. Her gaze switched back to Jimmy as he responded to her question. Noting that again, his response lacked emotion. "What bands do you normally listen to?" She asked him curiously.

Jimmy flickered a smile when she joked. It was more to humor he really, but she reminded him of himself a little bit when he was in his early teens. He was always sarcastic back then. He could tell that she was interested in him. He wasn't particularly into talking about stuff much. Where he came from, it was about doing. He wanted to find some others like himself, but something told him, he wasn't going to find them here.
'Awesome'. Wouldn't how he would have put it. More like 'Ahh, crud!'. He moved away to get away from his mother, and his old girlfriend. He wasn't finding this fun, but he simply replied "Yeah...". He was starting to get annoyed by all the people looking at him. He wanted to chuck something at them, but knew that it would be stupid. He was dying for a drink, and wanted to get out to the club. "Rock. Punk. Emo" he said. There wasn't really bands, just the music he was interested. So lon as the son was good, he would listen to it.

Kenya
Kenya bit her bottom lip slightly, as a ghost of a smile appeared on his face. Hm.. Perhaps he wasn't a gloomy? Not that it was a bad thing, it was just Kenya believed that people should be able to have happiness in their lives. Though, she admitted to herself, who's to say that he isn't happy? Maybe the way he is, is him being happy. Stranger things have happened. With those thoughts, she managed to return to her bright and cheerful self. Real happiness sparkled in her green eyes as she looked around the park. Perfect. Of course, that wasn't what she was thinking moments ago. Maybe talking to people did her good. Heck yeah! It did her a world of good.
Her smile faded every so slightly at his un-enthusiastic response. Shrugging off his depressing attitude, she tried to think of something that would perhaps cheer him up. Which, she quickly stopped. Seeing as she knew nothing about him or what might make him smile. Best thing she could do was to continue talking to him, but even that wasn't guaranteed a happy ending. The teen wasn't looking like he was very interested in talking. When he responded to her question, she nodded, really, why would she have expected anything else? "Hm... You really don't get much of that music around here. I haven't heard much of it, so I wouldn't know if I like it or not" She finished with a small shrug, not the indifferent kind though. "You going somewhere at the moment?" She asked with curiosity brimming her voice.

Jimmy knew that he was being somewhat unfriendly, but it was the way he was. He couldn't change that. He probably looked depressive, and at times he was, but right now, he was pretty content, if not a little bored. Some small children in pink dresses run passed, squealing. He glared at them. He was dying for a cigarette. He sighed. As soon as got home...
His iPod suddenly sprung back into life, taking him by surprise. He hadn't expected it to mend it's self. He turned it off and stuffed in into his jeans pocket. His mind started to wonder. He wanted to know if there was a tattoo parlour any where near. he wanted to get a knew one done, of a skull on fire. He would go looking around the town later. He snapped back down to earth as Kenya started to speak. "Is there a radio station at all?". It was a stupid question. Of course there was. Why wouldn't there be? He regretted saying it the moment it slipped out of his mouth. He resisted the urge to hit himself on the head. "No where in particular" he said "Just wandering. Trying to find people to socialise with". By that he meant other teens like him, hanging out and graffiting places. He hoped she hadn't taken this in 'You're a wonderful person to talk to' way.

Kenya
Kenya started slightly when the sound of music wafted from his iPod. She shrugged it off easily and tried to focus her mind again. Right after being startled, she was a little scatter-brained. Not forgetful mind you, just, well, somewhat unable to gather her thoughts together completely. She just fervently hoped that it would pass quickly. Admittedly it wasn't the best trait for a vet to have, especially since she was the only vet in the area. Maybe I should get an assistant She mused to herself.
Grappling to control her wandering thoughts, she returned her gaze to Jimmy, realizing that the iPod was off and now, no where in sight. She gave an absent-minded nod to answer his question, not noticing his look of regret after asking her the question. There wasn't very many radio stations that you could pick up out here, but there were a few. Enough to just get by, that is. She glanced up and managed a small smile at his response to where he was going. Smirking a little at his last comment. "I take it that wasn't a 'glad you're talking to me' statement. So, out of my un-dying curiosity, what are you planning to do next?"

Jimmy Looked up. Did she really wanna know? He was planning on going to find some other people, like himself, have a bit of fun, which included Graffiti, smoking, and some other stuff. he wanted to form something like the Underbelly. "You don't wanna know" He said. She would probably scream if he told her, though she probably wouldn't be suprised. He was the type of person to get into those type of things.
He twisted the chain on his jeans around his finger to keep his mind entertained. He felt his phone buzz again. He sighed and opend it. It was from someone in the Underbelly, asking where he was. He didn't bother replying. He would do that later. He slid his phine back into his pocket, and looked around. Most of the people that were looking at him, had turned back to their buisness by now.

Kenya
Her smirk stilled pulled at the edges of her lips, but evened out somewhat, into a half smile. "Hm... What a thoroughly un-imformative remark" If one hadn't realized by now, she liked to joke around. Why be so serious if there was a way to lighten the mood? That's what she thought, anyhow. In all honesty, she didn't mind the way that he answered her question with as little as possible. It was fine with her, it was his life and he had the ability to choose who he gave information to. Obviously, he didn't want to tell her. So why worry about it?
Her gaze switched to his phone as it buzzed and he seemed like he didn't want to answer it all that much. With her right hand, Kenya fiddle with the hem of her shirt, not exactly sure how to keep the conversation going. To say the very least, they were different. Her smile dimmed and she bit her bottom lip, which she tended to do a lot. Though she didn't have much in common with this teenager, she still felt like talking. Though what to talk about, was posing a problem. During her "puberty" years, she had gotten more than several piercings, which she didn't like to flaunt. Much less tell anyone about them, so that wasn't the best conversation. "Do you, don't take this the wrong way, like animals?"
