Name: Mudslyde
Age: Four
Gender: Mare
Breed: Paint
Height: 16 hands
Color: Dark brown and white coat. Half white mane, half brown with lighter highlights and ends. Brown tail with the same highlights. Gray hooves. Chocolate orbs.
Alliance: Tame horse
Owner and Rider: Skye Lyons
Personality:
Mudslyde is definately a horse to be ridden only by advanced riders. She's difficult to handle and has a strong head and a lot of pride. If she is focused on getting somewhere, she'll try her hardest to make sure she does, despite her rider's attempts to halt her. She is a sassy mare full of attitude, and because of her young age she isn't fully trained yet. Because of this she spooks often, at anything from a plastic bag to a nearby truck. She prefers to be ridden bareback, though she has more freedom that way. Mudslyde is constantly fighting the bit most of the time, and when she's in a bad mood she'll bite or kick. She doesn't like being led with a lead line either, so she'll bolt if you try to lead her out of her stall. She's even wilder in the pasture, and that makes her hard to catch. She does get along with most other horses well though, surprisingly, though there are the select few she's brutal around. Grooming isn't the easiest task, since she is so stubborn that she won't lift her hooves willingly on most days. This is typical of a green horse, though. Overall, Mudslyde is pain at times and it's easy to lose control when riding her, but that's just because she's incredibly smart and spirited. She does generally like humans though, especially her owner. The prance in her step could make even the coldest people fall in love with her.
History:
Just from staring at the wild gleam in her large eyes, you can tell instantly that Mudslyde was born free. She used to roam the large plains of Nevada in a herd, until one day a bunch of wranglers decided to come to lasso a few horses. She put up a good fight as soon as she felt the rope around her neck, but she was only a filly then and she wasn't powerful enough to escape. Abducted from her homeland and taken to a ranch when she was a mere year and a half old, she was put to work hauling huge loads of timber with other captive horses. She was beaten and abused cruelly, left without food, hay, or water many times. To this day she is still petrified of whips, crops, and spurs. When Skye moved to Nevada she wasn't looking for a horse, since she is an independant person. In fact, she wasn't really even fond of equines, but when she was driving down the road one day she saw the barn and stopped after seeing a thin horse in the paddock. That was how she met Mudslyde. Rushing to the store and buying sweet feet and carrots, she gave the filly water and immediately called the animal police.
The owners of the ranch were taken to jail for animal cruelty, and all of the horses were sent to an abused animal rescue center. The police agreed to let Skye have the mare though, which she actually named. She brought Mudslyde to the stables and she started spending a lot of time, raising her. A little over two years later, Skye and Mudslyde had formed a bond so close that the mare had become attatched to Skye, followed her around the pasture, and did almost anything she wanted, though she's still stubborn. But she tries to be good for Skye. Skye has a deep emotional connection to her horse because she was also abused when she was younger, and she ran away from home. Mudslyde is truely Skye's best friend, and all she has in this world right now. The only one who understands her.

(I know that the photos are of a gelding, but I wanted Mudslyde to be a mare instead, and I liked this horse's coloring.)
