Skye sighed as she drummed her fingertips against the sterile surface of the examination table she was perched on. Crossing her legs, her big blue orbs were half opened as she stared at the door of the check-up room expectantly, waiting impatiently for one of the staff members to come back and tell her the results of the tests they had just run. She wasn't particularly fond of doctors, or hospitals for that matter, but she had decided it would be wise to make sure that she was okay. She hadn't exactly been feeling like herself for the past several weeks. At first she had thought that maybe she was sick and she had waited for the storm to pass. Now that she reflected on her actions, she realized that that was incredibly stupid of her and she should have come here sooner. She just hoped that everything was going to be alright. Looking up suddenly, she heard the door to the room click open and she sighed as she saw the nurse come into the room and tell her that the doctor was going to come back soon after she asked her a few questions. Skye sighed and nodded, and the nurse looked at her sympathetically. All she wanted to do was to find out what was wrong with her, get some medicine or something, and go home.
Ever since the night Skye spent with Axel at the hotel she had been extremely cautious, taking vitamins and eating healthy, balanced meals just incase anything had happened. She hadn't really thought that anything would, but it was always a possibility. It could happen. After the nurse left she shifted her position uncomfortably, trying to think of the symptoms she had been experiencing recently. She had definately been fatigued, barely able to stay awake at moments. And she had missed her period. And she got motion sickness... but that had never happened before. And in the mornings she felt nauseous more often than not. Skye's jaw dropped and she straightened up slowly. She couldn't believe that she hadn't pieced this together until now. She felt like an idiot. Skye felt her eyes water and she tried to calm down as the doctor finally came back into the room. He looked down at his notes and then smiled at her in a friendly manner. "Congradulations, Miss Lyons. The tests ran positive. You're pregnate." Skye breathed deeply, trying not to absolutely panick. "Thank you" she mumbled, nodding.
Skye lowered herself from the table and slowly walked out of the room, shocked. She made her way to the waiting room and fought back tears as she sat down on an unoccupied couch, bringing her legs up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them, resting her head on her knees. Was this really such a bad thing? Why was she about to break down? Axel wouldn't be upset... he had said that he wouldn't leave her and he'd help raise the baby if she did get pregnate. No... this was something internal. Something in her heart. She was afraid. She wasn't scared for herself, but she was scared for her baby. She was scared that she wouldn't be a good mother because she had never had good parents herself. She never had anyone to rely on or to teach her growing up... she had absolutely no idea how to raise a child or how to be a mother figure. She couldn't imagine herself as a mom. With trembling hands, still on the verge of tears, Skye called Axel. She waited until he picked up, her voice shaking as she spoke. "Could you come to the hospital, please? Everything's okay, no one is hurt, I promise. I just need you right now. I have to tell you something." She sighed deeply and felt a tear roll down her cheek, red rimmed eyes watching the entrance doors now as she curled up on the couch.

Axel had been going over his bills and signing each one happily, he had never felt so good in his life. Then his cell phone rang, he looked at who was calling and smiled when he saw Skye's name and answered cheerily with a friendly "'Ello?" When Skye told him to come to the hospital he was about to ask "Vhat happened?" Because his smile had faded, but she told him everything was alright before he could say anything, "OK?" He said when she told him that she needed him and that she had to tell him something. "OK, I'll be right zere..." He said, hanging up his cell phone and thought for a moment What had happened? Is she OK? She sounds OK, but, you can never be very sure... And he stood up, grabbing his jacket and running out the door, but walking to the hospital as he didn't have a car or anything. He entered the hospital doors and looked around after arriving in the waiting room. He spotted skye on the couch and smiled when he saw that she was OK and walked over to her, kneeling in front of her and asking, "Vhat's wrong, Love?" softly as he took her hand and stroked it gently.

Skye couldn't help but smile slightly when Axel answered, greeting her happily. He seemed cheerful and in a good mood, which was nice. She just hoped that she would end up making him excited or somehow pleased, instead of weary and upset. It would break her heart if he wasn't joyous that she was pregnate. It would be pretty shocking and hard to handle and process, but she hoped he wouldn't blow things out of proportion. This was rather huge news, she had to admit. She was trembling as she spoke to him, rambling and instantly reassuring him that she was okay and that she just needed him. She hoped he could comprehend what she was saying, since she was talking pretty fast. She sighed in relief when he agreed to come and hung up. Putting her phone away, she made herself smaller as she curled into a ball, watching the doors. Moaning in frustration as she felt tears run down her pale cheeks, she wiped them away hastily, reminding herself that she didn't cry. She couldn't cry. She had to be strong. She brightened up noticably when she laid eyes on Axel, trying as fast as she could to make it unnoticable that she had been crying. She failed, of course, since her reddened eyes were still puffy. She did smile when she saw him, like always. Watching him kneel down infront of her and ask her what was wrong as he gently took her hand and stroked it she closed her eyes, suddenly tired again from all of the news she had been trying to take in. She was comforted by his presence... by his touch. "Nothing has to be wrong. We can make this into a great thing" she responded thoughtfully, appearing to be pondering how to tell him what the doctors had discovered. She tugged on his hand gently to get him to sit on the couch next to her and she crawled onto his lap, yawning. Then she looked up at him, her big blue eyes focusing, suddenly intense. Her gaze was penetrating. "Ax... i'm pregnate" she finally said, her speech clear. For some unknown reason her confident stare transformed so that she looked apologetic, though she knew she shouldn't be sorry. Her eyes threatened to water again and she rested her head against his chest, waiting nervously for his response. These next few words and the emotion he portrayed meant the world to her. He and this baby were her future, and she loved them.
