Maia three-beated into the land. She could smell the leader and a mare, she assumed was lead mare's scent. Her banner was held high up, her Arabian blood pumping through her veins. Her dished face was high in the air, her orbs and audits never straying from they're alert positions. Her pillars ached slightly for cantering for so long. She ignored the burning sensation radiating off of them and kept moving forward. She had to find other life, she just needed to remember what other horses look like. she'd been alone for far to long.
Maia's nares flared as a scent twirled it's way up her nose. It was so strong it burned, and she couldn't identify the source. It was overpowering, and an extreme annoyance. Maia didn't like not knowing what was going on around her at all times. She shook her head trying to rid herself of the smell. She picked up a four-beated gait, trying to race away from it. I just need a horse, that's all. All Maia needed was a face to put then scent with, then she would feel fine. It was just the fact that she was clueless to the creator of the scent. it unnerved her to think, someone was out there, but she had no idea who.

Axel pricked his ears and galloped back down the rocky path of the stone hill where the royalty was. He saw the mare but knew it didn't see him so he neighed loudly into the air. He walked out of the shadows and into the sunlight "hello femme" he said and arched his boa proudly. He smiled I got a mare first chanted in his head so he put on a straight face again and looked at the mare.
He tossed his mane and walked toward her "so, what brings you here young femme" he asked while swishing his tail happily. The mares were all on heat and he was going crazy but hopefully this mare could also produce his own foals and the herd would grow stronger then ever with two mares who can breed and produce nice foals.

Maia's audits perked as the stallion came towards her. Her orbs studied him, and registered that he appeared to be no threat. Relax. She told herself. Normally she'd snap at him, telling him it was none of his business what she was doing, but this was different. She was in heat and needed a mate badly.
Maia bowed her head as he got closer. Hello, I'm Maia. I was trying to find a herd to join, need to find a home and mate. She peppered the last words with a hint of suggest flirting. She arched her neck slightly and swished her tail. Flirting was one of her many skills, although she rarely did so. She'd never needed a stallion as she did now, and she'd never found one she really wanted.
Maia wouldn't settle for just anything, no matter how desperate she was. Her requirements were just lowered a tad. No all they had to do was stand her. Being faithful helped too, but it wasn't top priority. Oh and Maia had to be able to stand them too. That one was the hard one. Finding stallions she could bare for more then 10 minutes had been difficult in the past.

Axel nodded at her "well Maia, I am glad you came as I was looking for some mares to join my herd" he said and a small smile printed on his face. He tossed his mane as she swished her tail and he smiled again "and again you were lucky as unlike puny lights who only breed with one, I can breed with many" he laughed as he hated lights more than anything in the world. He swished his own tail and sniffed the air, he smelt mares in heat and he pawed the sandy ground with his hoof.
He stepped forward and circled her, he looked at her with his dark eyes and then he nodded before returning to her face. "you seem nice enough" he said and laughed "by that I mean your accepted into my herd, but I must think of what position to put you in". He looked at her again and then pawed the ground before looking up at Royal Rock. He tossed his ebony mane and flirted back a little "you are quite a pretty mare aren't you" he said and winked before walking around her again and stopping at her tail. No Axel, wait for her he thought and quickly stepped onward and back toward her face.

Maia knew, she could just tell this land already had a lead mare. d**n. She really wanted to be lead mare, to have some control. She hadn't seen the other dark herds. Maybe I'll take a look there sometime. She plotted within her mind, but said nothing. Power was something she loved, but right now she had to focus on this stallion. She'd think about others later.
Maia batted her eyes. Yes, I am. She grinned sweetly, with more flirting mixed into her every word. Her audits and nares were focused on her surroundings though. Whoever his other mare was, she'd probably not like this, but not many mares would. It wasn't that Maia was scared of any other horses, she just wanted to know when she was coming, so she could prepare to defeat her.
Her attention dragged to the stallion, as he paused by her tail for a moment. She did nothing, teasing him a bit. She wanted to see where he'd go first.

Axel laughed and then shuffled forward and away from her tail. He stopped at her face "I have been thinking Maia, and I would like to put you in ranking of Duchess, the second highest mare ranking yet" he said and smiled "the Queens adviser, you will take the position of Queen if she is away or...dead and if we have a daughter she will take over at 3". He swished his tail again and pondered in his mind before looking at her again "Maia, please consider this thought of wether you woud like to have..." he started and paused for a second before continuing "...my foals".
He had said a-it and a sigh of releif came from his mouth but the tenion started to build again. What is she says no, and goes he thought and worry started but he soon relaxed I am the leader here, I have power.

Maia thought his offer over. Take over if she's gone or killed, well I could arrange that. If she has a filly though, I mean there goes my position. She held her head high, not going to turn down the offer, but not going to accept it either. Duchess huh? Well I don't know, a few herds need lead mares... She let her voice trail off and she swished her tail once more, before leaving it in place. Her neck straightened, her flirty arch leaving. She wanted this stallion to know she was going to be taken seriously, or she was going to leave.
Maia didn't expect him to give her the position of lead mare, but she wanted to see how far she could milk the topic. If he didn't bite, she could always go explore the other herds like she'd thought before. Although that would probably anger the stallion, she wanted what she wanted. She couldn't help that.

Axel sighed "another mare who wants to be lead, man, I saw one of them in my childhood herd, she soon changed her mind when the stallion insisted that she could become royalty" and then it was like a lightbulb had lit up is head "thats it, you could become our Princess" he said and smiled. Axel was 99.9% certain she would accept his offer and she wasn't related to him so they could breed royal foals.
He looked at her and smiled "so, what do you think of that Maia" he said and tossed his ebony mane and it swished beautifully. He flirted a little at her and then stepped forward and started to whsiper "I may have a lead mare but you will always have a place in my heart" he smiled at her again and then flashed a very dazzling smile. He flicked his tail again and waited, waited for her to talk again.

As the stallion stepped towards Maia, and his breathe tickled her skin, she was so tempted to agree. She gathered herself, knowing how close she had come to giving in. Never give in. She shrugged and glanced her orbs to the lands in the distance. I'm not sure, I'll have to think about it. She could tell he was flirting, and she enjoyed it very much, but not enough to accept his offer just yet.
Maia wanted to see what would happen if she didn't agree, she wanted to test her luck a bit, to see if he could even stand having her around. Princess. It sounded so happy and pretty. Like a little prancing filly who loved everyone. Ugh, surely that could never be me. It didn't seem possible for her to be something like a "princess". It just didn't sound right in her mind.

Axel sighed and then he smiled a little "if you don't like it, you can be Duchess" he said and then thought "actually, you have no choice honey as I think it would be weird me having children with a princess who are normally my daughters" he said and then smiled "so what is it, be in a true dark herd that only accepts darks, not even neutrals, or go off and find a herd which accept horses that aren't even true darks.
He pawed the ground again and then shifted around before walking around her and stopping at the tail end again. His mind fought with itself and part of him wanted to mate but the other part wanted him to wait she has flirted enough, lets put her out of her misery he thought and looked at Maia "did I mention that you would be able to mate with me, or any stallion every year" he said and put his muzzel just above her tail "so what is it? Maia" he said softly and still rested his nose just above her tail.

Maia thought long and hard about what she would say next. she could tell he was growing impatient, and wanted to mate. She swished her tail, and moved her haunches around, so she was facing him again. I'm not sure. She said quietly and bit her lip. She was trying to act like she was nervous around him, to see what he would do. She knew that stallions could be crazy when the mares were in heat, but she could defend herself, or run if she had to, but she doubted she would. If he forced her into this, she could kill his foals, or just kill herself to get rid of them, but she was sure that wouldn't happen.
I just have to think about it. She swished her tail, knowing his patience wouldn't last long, but it was true, she had to think it over. she could settle for this position, and if she found a better one, she could bail out later. There's a plan.

Axel watched as she turned around and faced him. He smiled at her and then his smile faded "Take your time honey, I am patient" he said and then pawed the ground a little. He swished his ebony tail and the sun gleamed on to it and he smiled I love my natural beauty he thought and smiled but then looked back at the mare.
He tossed his mane and whinnied softly before putting his muzzle to the ground and slowly uncovering the sand and he saw green grass shoots there. He covered them again and looked near the lake, near was tiny spots of green from where grass was growing again it won't be long until this place is paradise he thought and whinnied again before looking up at Royal Rock and imagined him standing there, looking over the territory and at the horses below, all of them grazing while foals frolicked at behind him in the cave was Dysnomia with a little foal, his own child. As he came back into reality he looked at her and smiled.

Maia saw him glance around the land. Her orbs followed his gaze to where she assumed was the Royal's home. The lead mare. She could tell he was thinking about her. Maia was always late. She either got sloppy seconds to some other mare, or didn't get anything at all. It didn't seem fair, that she always had to settle for what had been picked over, and like everything she got was this big blessing. She thought she deserved better, she shouldn't have to settle. I'll explore later today.
Maia had never tried to imagine herself with anyone, but now she did. Would she find a stallion with a bit of Arabian in him, just like her. Would she go for someone with a dark coat or a light coat. Or would she fall in love with a neutral, or even light? It was possible, if she dared to explore those lands, she could just stumble across a stallion she could stand. So many options. Her eyes fixed back on the stallion in front of her.

Axel smiled "you can go off if you like Maia, but if you don't find a place in another herd then Anse De Dragon will always take you in as Duchess" a sly smile printed on his face and he flicked his tail "but now it is spring, a time when I shall see if my foal is a filly or colt and if its a colt then you will be the next heir if Dysnomia goes away for atleast a year" he smiled again.
Things were going well in his eyes and he looked back up at Royal Rock before looking back at Maia "I am sure you and Dysnomia will get on well as she only accepts true darks and you definatly pass". He laughed a little and tossed his mane before taking a drink at the lake and then he lifted his head up again "this place will soon be paradise" he said softly and smiled.

Maia nodded, still thinking his offer over. It was pretty generous, and she would surely consider accepting, but not right this minute. She wanted to see what other cards she could play, what else she could get. Not necessarily from Axel, but from other stallions too. Like Axel had said, she was a very beautiful mare, and she could find some other stallions interested in her if she tried.
Maia swished her tail again, her neck regaining it's arch. It was so much to flirt, but to just look so incredibly good and make Axel notice it. Then hopefully he'd realize just how lucky he would be to have him. That's why Maia loved being a mare, stallions were so driven by getting a mare, you could drive them literally insane by teasing them. It also never seemed to go the other way, like stallions could never tease a mare because she wanted him.
