Aura heard distantly the words that cat spoke, though she was too far gone to reply. She had entered the dream world. The only place where she had an identity. Green fields, and a different life. Living without the burden she carried. With a true mother and father. Unknowing of men, out of reach from their clasp. Where the sky never rained, and the frosts never got to her, and froze her hooves. Aura was pulled out of her dream by something hard, hitting her head. She opened her blurry eyes to see a fallen apple. She lifted her head to see morning light filtering through the trees. She yawned and looked about her. Where was she? This wasn't autumn mountain. And what was it that was lying beside her? She turned her head to see a foal. Then it all came back to her. Cat.
Aura stood up. That apple had hurt. She shook her head and took the apple between her teeth. They bit through half of the apple, exposing white flesh. She munched on the sweet fruit and then went to graze on the small new shoot of grass. it wasn't particularly nice grass, but she was hungry, and this was the only food.
