Can't force the words past my tongue
A sullen look could be seen in the teenage girl's dark brown eyes. Her face remained carefully expressionless, and the only thing that told of what she was feeling, were her eyes. Which she hid behind a pair of dark sunglasses. She bit her bottom lip and glanced around the town. It hadn't taken her long to get to Maybell Acres. And she loved the place already, but she always seemed to be in a sad mood. Or mad for that matter. She just didn't seem to have the 'happy' emotions any more. She hadn't laughed in over a year, and that was no exaggeration. Rarely, she would have a sincere smile on her face, but normally, all of her smiles were fake and pasted on there so no one could know how she was really feeling. A mask if you will. That was how her life seemed to be lately. Never showing who she really was, hiding away in a room and only going places if she really felt the need to do something. And even then, she tried to keep away from other people. Conversation just wasn't her thing anymore. Apparently, she couldn't talk, or walk, for that matter. Not like she used to.
She glanced down at the ground, before tucking a stray piece of dark brown hair behind her ear. Glancing around unsure, she walked into the barn, figuring that's where she could find the owner of the ranch. As soon as she entered, the welcoming smells of horses greeted her. Inside the building, it was the perfect temperature, everything about the entire place was appealing and all together inviting. A ghost of a smile tugged at the corners of her lips, but she paid it no mind, and the smile quickly died. Walking in, she glanced around. Carefully placing her sunglasses on the top of her head so that she could see in the lower lighting. She looked back to where her horse was tied, trying to gain confidence from the gelding. Heaving a great sigh, she looked back towards the rows of stalls. In a shaky voice, she called out. "I-is anyone ho--ome?" She bit her lip, cursing herself for not being able to talk without a stutter.

Jessie stroked Moonlight happily, she was going to go on a little ride with her horse. She was already tacked and she then heard the doors open and watched as the girl came in. She saw the gelding and then opened the stall and stepped out toward Quill. "Hello there, I was just about to go for a ride with my horse.. want to come with your beautiful gelding so we can get to know eachother" she said and started to lead her mare out of the stall who greeted the other horse with a whinny. She then held out her spare hand to Quill "Jessie May-Bell, owner of Maybell Acres" she said and smiled. She was a cheerful girl, it was obvious and she was always seen with a smile on her face. She then patted her horse happily who tossed her mane and nickered.
Jessie now studied the girl, she was quite pretty but looked sad and she didn't understand why. She pushed her blonde hair out of her face again which fell back as soon as her hand left. She shook her head, it was hopeless to get her hair the way she wanted it. Her eyes looked at Moonlight who was kicking the straw out of her stable and into the barn, causing mess. She sighed at the horse who pricked her ears and looked up with curious eyes as she tutted.

Can't force the words past my tongue
The beautiful sounds of horses seemed to make Quill more at home, helping her to be less afraid. Yet, she was never without fear completely. She smoothed down the front of her black shirt, a gold design trailing over the front. She was nervous, and that was one of her habits. What happened if the owner of the ranch was a man? How was she going to handle that. She bit her lip, hoping, and perhaps even praying that the owner would be a woman. Her eyes flashed upward as she heard someone walk out of a stall. She jumped slightly, but then calmed down as she listened to the persons happy voice. Caution was in her brown eyes, but she watched the cheerful woman as she talked. "Uh... okay?" Unsure of how to take the greeting she merely responded, her eyes downcast, and her finger fiddling with the belt that was looped through her jeans.
She flinched as the person extended her hand to shake. She didn't touch people. Quill looked away, not wanting to be rude, but she couldn't shake her hand, she just couldn't. "H-i... I'm A-a-q-uilla Delarosa." She sped up her voice, trying to speak without the ever present stutter. She licked her lips trying to think of what to say. "Er... I'm looking for a j-job" She managed to force the words out of her mouth. She kicked her boot on the ground, not looking up to meet the eyes of Jessie.

Jessie smiled "well, hello Aquilla, a job I see. Well that is perfect, I happen to be looking for a worker" she said softly. It was obvious the girl was shy and she knew how it was, she had once been terribly shy and it was hard. Her eyes flicked to her horse and she had some irritating quotes of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juilet in her head, curse that book. She senced Quill was not happy so she shut her horse back in the stall and started to walk out "no, lets go inside" she said and started to walk toward her ranch house. Trying to make this girl warm up to her she made conversation "so, I see you are new around here. Its good to start out fresh in a new place" she said. As soon as she opened her door a dog came and greeted her and Quill by yapping softly, she was followed by two other dogs. Luckily they were small, and rather fluffy so the looked like little teddy bears and were so huggable. "These, are my devils. Bundles full of pure evil" she laughed while they just watched her and wagged their tails.
The dogs looked at Quill, Lolly stepped forward before running into the lounge followed by the other two dogs. Jessie laughed "sometimes, I don't see why I put up with them" she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Walking into the kitchen she opened a cupboard "want a drink of anything, or anything to eat" she said looking back at Quill.
