The Day was cold, of course, snow covered the ground, and several types of animals were hibernating. You could hear the thundering of hooves coming closer, and closer, and then, finally, a streak of pure black shot through the forest. Van, a handsome, honorable, noble stallion, mind you, he had his shy quirks, but that did not stop him from being a very good friend... except to humans. He hated humans, ever since they took his mother away, he was merely a little over a year when they took his mother, and so he stayed, as often as he could, with his father, until he abandoned him here in the wilderness. Van had been roaming for the past year-and-a-half, never having a herd, no family, nothing but himself and his shadow. Strange thing was, though, three times the breeding season had come, and yet, no mares would come to him, was it because he had no herd of his own? Or was it for some unknown reason? He had no idea, but he really didn't care right now, he just wanted to run...

A black shape walked through the lands. They grazed happily, the grass moist for where they had kicked away the snow. Her pelt was a glossy ebony and she always looked stunning. Her movements like a dance, a endless dance which would only stop when her dancing spirit left her body. Then a scent hit the mare's nares, the smell of a stallion. She then lifted her head, flicked her tail and trotted over to where she could smell the stallion. She weaved through a few trees and reached him, she looked into the stallion's eyes and smiled.
"Good day, stallion, what purpose do you have here?" she said softly and tossed her glossy mane. Her name was Tammy, and she was the leader of Royal Lake. It had been a while since a stallion had entered the lands and she was getting rather lonely. She had longed for a foal, it was breeding season but still she had no mate and no little miracle around her hooves. She dropped her head a little but then raised it, remembering she had a stallion in front of her and she wanted him to join her almost non-existant herd.

The stallion backed up slightly, but then stopped when he realized that she meant no harm. He then smiled back and said "I am Van, I am merely a wanderer looking for a herd to join... sadly, nobody has taken me in yet... though I'd prefer the company of fellow horses over humans..." he said softly as he flicked his tail and looked around cautiously, as though making sure there were no humans around. "There aren't any humans around, are there?" He asked, laying his ears back and looking around warily. He hated humans, he hated them and their way of doing things. He then relaxed when no humans jumped out, and raised his head again, watching her for a moment before shifting his weight slightly. ((Bahh... I -hate- writer's block... I sometimes wish I could just type forever...))
