Calloused finger tips methodically and seemingly without a thought laced up the worn and tattered off white skates. Brown eyes trained on the icy escape unfolding before her. Satisfied, she pulled the dark jeans back down over the ice skates. Standing up, wobbling slightly, she made her way towards the rink. Once she got to the edge, she lifted her leg and took off the guard that went over the blade of the ice skate, then doing the same for the other. Tossing them casually onto one of the bleachers, she stepped out onto the ice. She wasn't decked out for cold weather like most people were when they went ice skating. She had a thin red t-shirt, with a leather jacket that stopped mid-rift, a silver belt cinched around her waist that had skulls on it. Ink black hair was down, bangs covering part of her eyes, casting a shadow over her angular features. She was dressed more casually, that was for sure. Then again, Raven was always on the more casual side of things, with an edge of course.
The sharpened blades of the skates slid across the ice smoothly, hardly making a sound as she skated with practiced ease. Raven wasn't the best skater, but she did find it fun. A couple of other people dotted the rink, and with a small grin she watched them casually. Bare hands were tucked into the pockets of her jeans. She looked around, trying to spot someone that she could strike up conversation with. Everyone seemed to be in pretty tight knit groups, and although she was anything but shy, she wasn't rude. She didn't want to go around interrupting people for the sake of her own entertainment.

Just as the day couldn't possibly get any more boring, Miko and Zero walked into the ice skating rink. Miko was more for the skating, Zero would just watch. Zero sighed and said "Miko, I honestly don't see why you made me come here. I was never the best skater and you know it." "Aye, not the best but it's funny as heck to see you fall on your bum." The twins, Miko and Zero, were both redheads with green eyes, a lot of girls thought they were cute, the few that didn't simply thought of them as annoying nuisences. Miko took off the guards to his skates and went out onto the ice. Zero simply sat on the bench and watched, Zero was the mastermind behind their pranks, Miko simply carried them out. They were both very funny boys, and perhaps that was all they'd ever be, immaturely funny boys.

Raven kept skating, keeping out a wary eye for any youngsters barreling past. The last thing she wanted was to run someone over. Still, nothing stopped the happy smile that tilted up the corners of her lips. Her brown eyes sparkling, she looked down at the ice, seeing herself in the frozen reflection it gave. Chuckling at the picture's distortion, she looked back up. Her eyes landed on a pair of guys, probably a couple years older than her by the looks of it. They definitely stood out, with their red hair. She grinned when she noticed one of them get on the ice, but the other just sit down. Apparently the other had just been dragged to the ice skating rink. Not to uncommon really. She knew ice skating wasn't enjoyed by everyone.
Seeing as they weren't talking to anyone else, she decided to go over and say hello. She skated over towards the one that had actually braved the slick ice of the rink. She skated back, directly in front of one of the twins. "Hey there." She said with a bright smile lighting up her face, white teeth contrasting her darker complexion. She brought herself to a stop, mirth dancing in her dark eyes. "A random guess here, but you wouldn't happen to have a twin sitting over there? Spitting image of you." She gave him a lopsided grin. "I'm Raven" She offered cheerily. She was definitely in a good mood.

Miko stopped when he heard a girl call to him. He stopped and turned, "hey there." he echoed, "And yes, I do have a twin...." he then looked around as though clueless and said "speaking of which, Have you by any chance seen a redheaded weirdo around here, I seem to have lost mine..." he said, but he obviously knew where Zero was. "Anyway, I'm Miko, my Twin's name is Zero." He said with a slight smile, giving a slight bow, but not enough to topple over onto the ice. More of a humble Japanese-like bow. He then stood up straight and said "So, what do you do for a living? My brother and I travel the world selling our Pranking merchandise." He said with a slight smile. "Though I have to admit, these days there doesn't seem to be as many people that want to prank others unless it happens to be April Fool's day...." He said rather sadly.

Raven grinned at the man, chuckling under her breath in appreciation for his sense of humor. It was always good to meet someone who could take a joke, and dish them right back. "I have, I do believe one of them is standing directly in front of me." She replied back, sarcasm leaking into her words. She smirked at him, laughter still dancing in her dark brown eyes. She tilted her head to the side, regarding him silently, waiting for him to return the favor she had extended, well, telling her his name that is. "Wow..." She said with a grin, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. "Your brother sure got the short end of that stick. Zero?" She laughed lightly. Raising her eyebrows, she watched in amusement as Miko bowed in greeting. "I must say, your balance is better than mine. If I'd have attempted that on the ice, I would've fallen right over." She twisted her face in a feigned grimace.
She held back a laugh when he asked his question, straight to business, yeah? Her laugh came out when he replied to his own question. And what an intriguing business it was. "Yes, a true shame that such an art form is being wasted away in today's society." She replied, faking a posh english accent, that of one of the business women that she had to deal with in her stuffy home back when she was cooped up in her family's mansion. "As for me, I'm twenty years old, and pretty much unemployed currently." She said with a shrug. "I live life for the moment, I guess you could say. I do occasional gigs at dance clubs. Singing and playing guitar, things like that. But other than that, yup, unemployed."

Miko laughed slightly as Raven replied to his joke, truth was he hadn't been expecting that. He looked around, asking "Where?" with a slight smile as he looked back at her. "And yes, I suppose Zero is a rather bizarre name, considering the fact that he's the mastermind behind my pranks." He said with a slight smile, and a shrug. "Oh balance is nothing, all that really matters is that you keep your mind off the fact that you're -on- the ice." he said with a slight smile. He then replied with the same accent "Indeed, such a horrid shame...." with a slight shake of his head. "Live life for the moment, eh? I just live life in the thought that something funny could happen at any moment." He said softly, and shrugged again. "Anyway, my brother and I are quite famous in the pranking world... or do you not really study that form of business?" he asked her, not trying to seem rude or anything. "Or you can just tell me to shut up and I'll be on my merry way."

She grinned as her reply was well received. Honestly, Raven hadn't been having much luck fitting into the small town. She supposed that was because she still lived in the hotel, and didn't own a horse yet. Then again, she hadn't been making a real effort, instead, pining away for life the way it was. Not back with her family, but with her friends. She didn't want to be with her parents again, she was glad they were farther away. But her friends, the one's who'd taught her how to skateboard and play guitar, yeah, she wished they were still around. She chuckled at Miko's next comment. "Mhmm." She hummed in reply.
Raven pretended to ponder his advice then smirked, chuckling. "I have to say, you make it sound easy. But I assure you, sir, that forgetting I'm on the ice would only result in me gaining more bruises." She chuckled when he took the same accent she had used to respond to her sarcasm. The ebony headed girl nodded as he talked, his voice quieter. When he said she could just tell him to be quiet, she laughed. "Not to be blunt, but this is the most fun I've had in ages. Quite pathetic if I do say so. And no, pranks aren't a form of business for me..." She paused, grinning. "More of a hobby. An acquired taste of humor really."

"Oh, so you do pull pranks on people now and then?" he asked, grinning a bit. "Either way, Raven from this shining town in the middle of nowhere in Navada, how would it be if you came back to our hotel room and had some tea with myself and my brother?" He asked, tilting his head slightly. "Besides, you look like you could use the company, my brother and I could use the company? And aside from chatting with each other, my brother and I haven't talked to anyone in quite a while." he then chuckled and said with a posh english accent "Just a spot of tea, a little chat and then if you had enough you can go back to...... wherever you're from around here." He said, looking around as he added "I don't really think you -actually- live in an ice rink at least." He said as he tilted his head again.

She smirked over at the red head, a sarcastic tilt in her smile. "You could say I dabble in that art form." Her dark brown eyes sparked with interest at the topic. She was always the trouble maker. Her family never really accepted that she didn't want to lead a top dollar life. She wanted to be normal, even if that meant not having the money to buy whatever she wanted. Besides, even as it was, she usually worked to pay for the things she wanted, instead of just taking 'daddy's credit card'. As it was, she liked her independence. Her parents could keep their money. She raised and eyebrow at Miko, chuckling at his word choice. "How poetically put." She teased.
"And quite right, I don't live in an ice rink. Talk about over using air conditioning." She shuddered. "That'd be fun though, I quite like the idea of meeting the mastermind behind your pranks." She joked, rolling her eyes partially. She skated up, looping her arm through his. "Shall we go?" She said, laughter bubbling underneath her voice. She wasn't the shy type, that much was obvious.

Miko nodded as he lead Raven over to the benches where his twin was. "Hey, Zero." Miko said, as Zero stood up. "Ready to get going?" "Yeah, I've had my fifteen minutes in." Zero nodded, walking to the lobby as Miko skated around to the front to exit out the door. Miko sat down on a bench, taking off the ice skating shoes, gave them back to the man behind the desk, put on his normal sneakers, then waited for Raven beside the door, all the while chatting with his twin. "So, why exactly is it that in every town we go to, -you- just -have- to invite a girl over for tea." Zero asked with a slight chuckle. He looked back at Raven, a slight smile on his face. "OK, shall we get going?" Miko asked, clapping his brother on the back as he lead them both out.

Raven smiled and skated along with Miko towards the edge of the skating rink. She hadn't been skating long, but she wanted to get to know new people. And she wasn't going to turn down the first opportunity to do so, just so she could get more time on the slick ice. She looked up when Miko greeted his twin, black hair shielding part of her face, she gave the other young man a friendly smile, throwing in a small wave of the hand. Quickly, she skated to the exit door of the rink. Stepping out, she grabbed the blade guards, putting them back on the skates. Carefully, she unlaced them, pulling them off of her feet. She walked to the counter and got her shoes that they had kept for her. Hurriedly she slipped the black and white converse shoes on, slinging the skates over her shoulder. They were hers after all.
She hurried towards the twins, a light smile lifting up the corners of her lips. Zero was chuckling, but she'd missed the statement that had caused his laughter. She looked at him quizzically. "I missed something here, didn't I?" She questioned, curiosity burning bright in her brown eyes. She looked back at Miko and nodded. "Lead the way." She said with a smile. He'd said they were staying at the hotel in town, and there was only one. The one she was also staying in. Things worked out well...
