Humans in their ignorance and intent on playing the role of the gods and goddesses unknowingly created fierce demons that had once been wolves through many tests and trials. Driven mad by bloodlust and a longing for revenge on their human keepers, the demons known as Blackbloods by the wolves escaped the hold of humans. In the largest massacre ever known, the Blackblood Pack swept across the land, destroying humans, wildlife and even their fellow wolves. In fear of these blood-hungry monsters, wolves fled to mountain caves and recluse dens hoping to go unknown or unseen by the Blackbloods. Their cries of pain and terror drew the eyes of their creator, Nix the Goddess of Wolves whom had spun wolves from the night sky but turned away from them when wolves became ignorant and arrogant. Now as they called out to her, Nix offered her aid.
Speaking through dreams to four wolves; Luna, Aquarius, Sothis and Venus, Nix gave them power over fire, dreams, souls and vision to strengthen them. Telling them how to capture the Blackbloods, Nix sent them out into the world to gather the Blackbloods. The wolves did as they were told with stout hearts and managed to gather the Blackbloods and trap them within a cave. The seal would hold them for centuries and the energy it had taken to forge the seal had nearly been enough to kill the four.
After the bloody battle to seal the Blackbloods, the four wolves felt drained and haggard. Their mouths were haunted with the taste of poison blood and their souls darkened by the sight of such horrid creatures as what the now deceased humans had made wolves into. Together, Luna, Aquarius, Venus and Sothis retreated to an island connected to the mainland by a crumbling human bridge. There they forged a pact with Nix to create a pack of healers and peaceful watchers to keep the Blackbloods locked up and make up for the blood shed by the Blackbloods.
Centuries later, tides are shifting. The packs feel aggressive toward one another and fights are growing more and more common. Whether this is a leak in the seal releasing the aggressive feelings of Blackbloods or simply ignorance spreading through the wolves is unknown. The Druids and the Council of Stars watch with weary eyes as battle lines are drawn and blood calls for blood.
