Dual-painted mare flung herself across these lands she had come to live on. Yes, it was true that she would have never have dreamt of being led by a dark stallion when she was young, but that time had gone. Now, all Rainbow wanted was someone to protect her, no matter if he cared about the young mare, as long as he did not abuse her. Well, abuse her by attacking her that is, but other types that she did not know about she did not care about.
Azure pools scanned the lands, hoping to catch a glimpse of more herd members. Nothing at all was there besides her, no other herd members besides Blink. She sighed, lonely. Rainbow wanted mares, someone to talk with, to confide in. Maybe even an offspring to care for, but that was not going to happen anytime soon, since there was no Duke.
She sighed, wandering her new home, watching the birds flitting from one tree to another.
"Blink? Someone? Please come?"
She whispered into the wind, desperately wanting to be like any other young mare. In a loving herd, with plenty of herd members to keep her happy and a family that was alive. |

The ashen and bone colored lead stallion silently made his way through his territory. Everything looked normal in Insanity Falls. Nothing out of place. Blink's herd was small at the moment, but it would grow. So far, he had a duchess and a herd stallion. His duchess, Rainbow, was a young mare whom he did not know well yet.
Blink wandered aimlessly and pretty soon came upon the Paint mare. "Hello, Rainbow." He nodded to her confidently and swished his tail. His duchess looked lonely and Blink felt a stab of sympathy for her. He had a soft spot for his herd mares. The sympathy soon disintegrated, but he could feel it tugging at his brain. "Why so lonely, Rainbow?" His words were dipped with friendliness, something that he had to force. He shoved his usual raw nature deep down inside, locked away.
The fearless leader's ears swiveld lazily as he waited for her reply. "I presume you have not met the new herd member, Arrik? A laid back fellow, he is. Nevertheless, I need herd members. And maybe some offspring sooner or later." His icy blue orbs pierced hers as he spoke. Any normal mare would be intimidated by his fierce gaze. He had only met one mare in his lifetime that wasn't afraid of him...Kya...
His mind drifted to the Light mare, only to be jerked back to the present. He had other responsibilities now...
(Rainbow can breed with Blink...you know that right?)

Eyes narrowed as she herd the satisfying 'thud-thud' of hoof-falls. Her leader's scent drifted on the wind, catching her attention hesitantly. Heart shot up in fear only slightly, but was stuffed down again by Rainbow. A voice told her to show she wasn't afraid, even if she had to force it. A sharp, long breath was emitted, causing a little cloud of fog.When his dark and light silhouette finally came into view, she forced a calm smile. Stance was neutral, not showing anything unless a amazing body language reader.
"Hmm.. Let's think about that. How about because I have no one to be with!"
Rainbow snapped, eyes flashing. She had answered so abruptly and angrily because she had not expected to be interrupted, even though she had called for someone. Trying to soften her tone as Blink asked the next question, she breathed out softly.
"No, I have not met him. And yes, I am always willing to supply you."
She replied, not needing to say anything else. His own azure pools showed that his mind was wandering. Of course. Nobody listened to her anyways, why should Blink?

Blink could see a hint of fear as he approached Rainbow. He cursed under his breath and attempted to smile. It probably made him look retarted. He didn't always like being heartless...especially when his own herd members feared him. However, it did give him a satisfying rush to see everyone cower away from his power.
"A little touchy are we?" Blink snorted and rolled his icy eyes. Mares could be so tempermental...He flicked his tail, quite annoyed by her mood swing. "Do I not count as company?" He smirked and flicked his tail towards her rump.
Blink could tell Rainbow was really upset, but suddenly he didn't care. If she wanted to act like this then so be it. He could only play along.
"Don't act to excited about it, Rainbow. I don't want you having a spasm attack." He scoffed at her momentarily before adding, "I will get more herd members...don't worry. I wouldn't want to be alone with me either. I know I'm a heartless beast. Its not something that just happens overnight." He grinned wickedly and pawed the ground. Let her think what she wants...this is just the way he is.
(Ok so im in this plot with Forte and Blink falls in love with Kya...but maybe him and Rainbow could have a thing for eachother too and he has to choose all the while Kya is choosing also...eh?)

Rolling her eyes sarcastically, she raised her dual painted facade to stare at him. She knew deep down that he really was not all that scary. Sighing, she stepped back a step and looked him in the eyes.
"Yes, you do count as company. But you are a king. I can not take you away from your work."
She replied mockingly, knowing there was not much work he could do at the moment with only two herd members. Smiling, a wink was displayed as his banner flicked her rump softly.
"Oh, I'm not excited. And your not heartless."
She stated firmly, anger being replaced by neutral feelings. His grin chilled her to the core, and she returned it before she dropped her maw to the crisp blades. Taking off small bits, eyes watched the stallion's dagger paw at the hardened ground, churning the dirt powerfully. Suddenly, she jerked her tiara upwards and stared into his icy eyes.

Blink chuckled at her eye roll and stared right back at her through icy pools. He scoffed when she took a step back and continued to look at him. "I can see you are not afraid of me...that is probably your biggest mistake." He grinned and laughed mockingly.
Blink smirked at her comment about his work. "Touche..." He smiled back at her wink and gave her one of his own. His dials swiveled instinctively as she spoke. "Well...you probably shouldn't be excited. And I'm pretty sure I am heartless...or so I've been told. Fear in other's eyes doesn't lie."
The stallion watched intently as she began to graze and he soon joined her. The grass was luscious and tasted delicious on his taste buds. He jumped back out of suprise as her head jerked up. Blink pursed his lips and waited for a word from the mare.
Blink could sense a change of mood by the way she stared at him. Something told him that things were about to change. He only hoped they were for the better.
A slight breeze toyed softly with his mane and tail as he stood. The dirt around his feet picked up and swirled quickly away from the pair. Even Mother Nature could sense the change to come.

Rainbow shivered in the cold breeze, the crisp wind stinging her nostrils. Snorting softly, she wheeled around, breaking into a slow gallop to warm up her tight muscles. When she once again stopped in front of Blink, she shook her head, laughing softly.
"Ah, but Blink. You underestimate me, I see. You cannot touch me."
She replied, glaring into his ice blue eyes. Really, he could do whatever he wanted to her, being stronger and bigger, but that was not the point. Rainbow knew not to agitate him too much, but why not have some fun? The worst he could do is run her out of the place, but then she would just find a new home.
"But what about me? You don't see fear in me."
She pointed out, shrugging. Sure, a lingering uncertainness was around the dual-painted beauty, but not fear.
A wind picked up, playing with the pair's tresses. With her head held high, she just looked at him. A crisp, serene mood enveloped her until she looked past him him, into the distance. |

Blink closed his eyes as the breeze raced past them. His mane and tail flickered around his bod rapidly. He watched as Rainbow took off at a gallop across the beautiful terrain. He chuckled under his breath at her sudden burst of energy.
He shook his head as she spoke and replied, "You're probably right about that one. I don't like to hurt my herd members. Only if they really aggravate me. And besides, you're to special to lose." He flashed her a smile and flicked his tail.
"I don't see fear in you...that's the problem here. You're not afraid when you should be. You don't know how dangerous I am...how many horses I've killed..." His words trailed off as he turned away and began to graze. He didn't always like being so evil...it's just a hole that he fell into and can't get out. He was already in too deep.
Blink stared intently into Rainbow's eyes as she looked beyond him, into the distance. She really was a beautiful mare...it would be a shame if she left. Hopefully he wouldn't run her off...

Auds pricked forwards at his next statement. He was really very friendly when you got to know him. Smiling, Rain flicked her tail across her back quickly. His icy eyes searched hers, as did her own.
"Special? How am I any more special than any other mare...?"
She thought aloud, dropping her tiara in embarrassment. He actually liked her? She could sense a slight uneasiness, as if he hated liking her. As if he already had someone that meant the world to him. Who could this be? He smiled, and she smiled back, mirroring him.
"I don't know fear anymore. Well, not real fear anyway."
She shrugged as he turned slightly to graze. He really didn't want to be evil, and that was what Rainbow liked about him. He wasn't just heartless and cold, like the dark king. He really enjoyed things, and actually could love.
"Blink.. about foals.."

Blink shrugged helplessly and shook his head. "I don't know...just something about you is different..." He looked away, embarrassed that he had even brought it up. That was one way he was different from other dark stallions. He actually had emotions. He claimed to be heartless, but deep down he actually felt things. Like his love for Kya...and maybe....oh never mind.
The gray and black beast smiled towards Rainbow and tilted his head. "You don't know fear? That seems pretty impossible to me...although I don't fear much either." He grinned cooly and flicked his banner across his rump.
Blink lifted his head to look at her. "Oh right...about foals. I suppose we should go ahead...since it is the right season..." His voice trailed off and he stomped the ground with his massive hoof.
Blink really didn't like breeding like other stallions did. He only wanted to breed with certain horses that he truly loved. Something about breeding with others didn't strike his fancy. He knew he had to, but he didn't have to like it...maybe Rainbow would be different.
He could already tell that he was beginning to like this mare.

Rainbow smiled softly and ducked her head slightly, letting her forelock cover her eyes. She was embarrassed that this stallion actually felt that she was special. Dual-painted mare snorted softly and stepped forwards, until she was right in front of Blink.
Bowing her head slightly, she stood there, head bowed and eyes looking up at him. She didn't reply, but just stood there quietly, wondering what to say. She had never had anyone really like her besides her parents, but that was different.
Rainbow had been planning to use the stallion to become queen, but she was having second thoughts. How could she use him if he actually cared for her?
"Maybe I was exaggerating a bit.."
She teased slightly, softly butting her head into his shoulder, but then backing up once again, looking away, embarrassed. He started talking, once again.
"Well, it's fully up to you."
She said softly. |

Blink smiled back at Rainbow confidently and swished his tail towards her teasingly. "Why are you embarrassed?" He laughed and swiveled his ears around attentively.
He studied the mare's features and thought her quite beautiful really...he raised his head and spoke, "Well...I suppose there are some things I fear, too...not many but some." He grinned slightly and his heart jolted when she butted her head against his shoulder. Her flicked his tail over her back and stepped back away just as quickly as she did. He didn't know the reasoning for his actions...he had only acted this way around one other mare...Kya.
Blink shook his cranium and backed away slightly more from Rainbow. "Okay...I guess now would be the time..."
He flared his nostrils and stepped towards her rump. The gray and black stud nodded towards her once and asked, "Ready?"
(I'll post in the foal area thingy...)
