The stallion breathed heavily as he reached the plains near the camp "never...will I...gallop...from there...to here...again" he breathed. Sweat was all over his body as he took some steps forward, he saw that two of his horseshoes had been lost on the way and the other two were loose. He lifted his ebony leg and kicked a nearby tree several times before a horseshoe fell heavily to the ground and he did the same with his other leg until the last horseshoe fell onto the ground.
He heaved his body to the shade of a large oak tree and felt a little dizzy but his sight became clearer in a few seconds. He watched around "I wonder where the two-legs are" he said lifting his ebony head and watching the horizon, hoping to see a person. His lips slowly parted and a loud whinny escaped from them before the stallion lowered his head and bit at the tops of the grass, feeling the cold, fresh grass on his tongue refreshed him and he raised his head once more.
Out of the corner of his chocolate eyes he saw a little speck of blue and immediately turned his head toward it. "water?" the Friesian questioned himself and stepped forward and then quickened his pace into a little trot. As he reached the water his mane was the first thing to ripple its surface, shortly followed by his muzzle and the icy water filled his mouth. He drunk the water happily and then lifted his head, water dripping from the tips of his mane and chin. He finally saw a little dot on the horizon, a dot which the stallion knew at once was a human.
He lifted his head in triumph and let out a very loud neigh which carried through the wind. He remembered his owner and smiled but knew it wasn't her as she had gone and left him forever "it wasn't her fault, Floyd" he told himself and remembered when she had stroked him and then remembered his very first owner, stroking his ebony head and saying that little word which made him what he is today 'Floyd'. Floyd watched and chuckled your on to owner 3 Floyd he thought and shook his damp mane in delight of going to have a new stable to be in at nights.
