Horse:Swift Wind Rider:Daniel May-Bell Stats:5/4/5/6/5/5/7/8 How Many Trainings:3 Roleplay: Daniel breathed in slowly as his second race was now ahead of him. After becoming last in the other race he did he was now going to do it right and hopefully be better than he was. He heard the speakers loud and clear as they called him in so with a pat on Swift Wind's neck they trotted in to the arena. The crowd greeted them and he lifted his hand to wave and the faces before spotting the familier blonde hair of his sister in the crowds. He nudged Swift into a canter and they made a circle as he was taking in the advice of the judge last time. They made the full turn so Daniel turned Swift toward the cross brace.
The crowd was silent as they cantered toward the jump with the only sound of light breathing from Daniel and the 1-2-3 of Swift's light canter on the sand. They approached the cross brace happily and the beat of hooves stopped as Swift started to soar in the the air and over the jump gracefully. A clap came from the crowd and his sisters was first and she made a loud whistle to Daniel which made his confidence grow. Swift Wind started to enjoy the attention from the crowds and soon realised when he jumped the brightly coloured objects they would clap. Daniel nudged Swift as his hooves were firmly on the ground to get him going again and toward the spread fence.
The rest of the jumps were jumped nicely and now at jump #9 they were at the water jump. Daniel has trainied Swift on the water jump since and they approached it on a light canter happily and then Swift leaped up and over the jump happily. Daniel focused ahead of him and then felt solid ground under their feet at last. He couldn't help but laugh a little as Swift had done so well so he patted the horse at the bace of his mane before looking toward their next jump. Before Daniel knew it they were approaching the last jump at last and Swift jumped smoothly over the easy jump so Daniel slowed him and then put his hand up again to wave goodbye to the crowd and winking at his sister before trotting out the arena. "Oh Swift, you were wonderful at the water jump" he said while dismounting his horse and then scractched his cheek. Swift whinnied lightly so Daniel started to walk him toward the stable to have a drink and a good rub down.

Horse: Moonlit Romance Rider: Grace Calder Stats: 6/4/4/6/5/6/7/8 How Many Trainings: 3 Roleplay: Butterflies swarmed in Grace's stomach as the announcer's voice came on the loud speaker. The horse before them had jumped a perfect round, and seemed to have been in good form, as well. That meant that, to even hope for another win, she would have to do the same. Romance's ears swiveled, listening as the speaker came on again. The muscles in her shoulders and neck trembled, the anticipation rising in her own heart, as well. Just by the feel of the way the rein held the bit in her mouth, the feel of the gloved fingertips massaging her neck, told her that her rider was anxious, excited. As Grace looked up again, she suddenly recognized the stallion that had just finished the round: he had been the one who placed fourth in the last show. He seemed to have improved dramatically from the immature horse who had barely made it through the round. This was going to be a tough one.
"...Grace Calder on Moonlit Romance..." The words reached her ears, and Grace looked up, startled from her reverie by the noise. With a click of her tongue, they trotted past the gate attendant, bursting into a canter as they entered the ring. This course ran the opposite direction of the last one, Romance's bad direction, and for a few sickening strides they picked up the wrong lead before switching, easing around the wide opening circle. The ring was huge - there were more jumps in here than Romance and Grace usually rode during practice. The rocking horse stride of the canter slowed and extended as the pair launched toward the first jump, a simple cross brace. Grace, while knowing that they were the most boring jumps, was relieved: it was hard to knock down a bar on a cross brace. They cleared it easily, Grace curving along the ebon crescent of Romance's neck.
They cleared the second jump, the spread, as well. Although Romance's strength was height, the bars weren't offset too far, and her belly and hocks easily cleared both sections, landing with a thud on the gravel and kicking up dirt as they rounded the turn towards the next jump. They were flying now, excitement building with their pace. The next three jumps were easy - even the triple jump wasn't extremely hard - and they were cleared in turn before the next corner was rounder. there was a brief respite along the rail before switching leads. Again - the set of three was cleared with apparent ease. Here lay Romance's strength, her power in soaring over the vertical jumps. Even the daunting brick was was cleared with inches to spare. grinning broadly, Grace massaged the black neck below her, feeling the slight sheen of sweat laying on the hair now. Romance's breath came quickly in the fall air, and as they rounded along the diagonal Grace sat back, easing into a slower pace.
Ahead lay the difficult jumps - the wide water jump and the tallest vertical following directly - at least six feet. Time seemed to slow around Grace as she studied the spread of the water, calculated the best way to get Romance over it safely. As they approached, the black neck stretched out, studying the obstacle with the same scrutiny. Then, almost abruptly, the neck lifted, and gloved hands stretched out until they nearly touched Romance's swiveling auds. The black form curved through the air, legs stretching out in front and behind before the hinds folded neatly in, neck curving towards the ground and the water below. For a moment it seemed that the black hooves were about to clip the bar of the jump, but then, with a bang and a splash of water, the dark from of the Hanoverian burst away from the jump in a haze of drops, lit by the sun and forming miniature rainbow's across Grace's vision. they were clear!
The pace collected again as they shot toward the vertical bar, and again the hind legs folded under, propelling almost a ton of flesh over the high fence. Grace was curved so that she was almost laying across Romance's neck, and the high fence was barely cleared. It was a difficult set, meant to trap riders into knocking a bar or landing wrong in the water, but it worked. Bright flags waved cheerfully from the jump's verticals as the dark form of the mare propelled away, dancing gracefully towards the last three jumps of the show. "Romance, you're fantastic!" Grace said, her voice too low for the audience or the judges to hear. But one black ear rolled towards the voice as they shot like a bullet from the maw of a gun towards the final line. the most difficult of the jumps had been cleared, but the spread fence was still daunting ahead. It was massive: both tall and wide, and definitely meant to cause hooves to knock a bar. At this point, Grace wasn't sure that she could be upset if that happened. This was far beyond anything that anyone had expected Romance to achieve.
They curved over the barrier, collecting the pace as they faced the daunting jaws of the spread fence. It seemed to be taunting them, laughing almost, the space between the bars seeming like the gaping mouth of an abyss. Grace sucked a breath between her teeth, and grimly collected the reins beneath her hands, leaning forward as Romance faced the monster undaunted. Grace's head was low across Romance's withers as the black mare curved over the jump, landing on the other side heavily. For a moment, her front legs shuddered as if they were going to buckle, but then the hind legs landed, propelling her away. Grace had no time to look back and see if they had knocked the top bar: the final jump, a cross brace, was coming up. This they cleared easily, rocking around the closing circle before slowing to a trot and exiting the ring. Grace let out a heavy sigh, relieved that neither her or her horse had been injured.
