Dee moved along silently on top of her horse, Black. Her long brown hair was tied back in a ponytail and the soft breeze blew it. She smiled and then clicked her tounge and touched the reins gently to manuever Black around some fallen sticks.
The Black plodded along quietly. His head held high and his long muscular legs high stepped. His ears perked forward and his thick mane blew slightly in the breeze. He stopped quickly as he heard a rustle in the bushes after they swerved around the twigs. His eyes blazed with fear as a small brown cottentail rabbit darted out, belly to the ground, ears pinned back, running for it's life. A rusty brown ragged looking fox followed quickly behind the rabbit. The Black reared on his hind legs as the animals passed and Dee jerked the reins quickly to bring him back down to the ground. "'Atta boy." she soothed him, calmyl rubbing his neck.

Horse and rider moved as one at a steady pace. Grayer Holland could feel her horse's muscles beneath her legs. She rode without a saddle, for she loved to be one with her mount. The 24 year old girl entwined her fingers in a chunk of the dark bay stallion's mane.
Her long, wavy brunette hair fell softly behind her as the wind toyed with it. She sighed and patted Mode's neck lovingly.
I Only Date Models, or Mode, was Grayer's bay Hanoverian showjumping stallion. The horse's trust for his girl was unbelievable. This was clear by the way the girl rode the big horse with just a halter and leadrope. Grayer trusted her horse not to do anything crazy.
The pair rode on in total silence. The weather was kinda groggy, with a chance of rain. The clouds covered the sky as they pressed forward. Grayer liked the chance to get out...She didn't like for every ride to be just practice. Thats what she gets for being an elite showjumper...
Mode whinnied loudly as he saw another horse and rider ahead. Grayer smiled uneasily, for she wasn't the best at talking to people. She often came off as snobby...
They approached slowly and Grayer nodded at the girl.

Dee looked up quickly as she heard the sound of a coming horse and rider. A large bay stallion appeared in her view. He was very good looking, she noticed, with long black mane and tail, strong legs, a white star on his forehead, he seemed confident and strong, and she liked his looks. She nodded back to the girl. She had long brunette hair and blue eyes. She also noticed the tanned skin, another good sign. She looked nice to Dee. "Hello." she called quietly to the other girl, raising one hand from the reins of The Black to wave at her.
The Black's nostils flared as he scented another horse, he shifted from one side of his body to the other, then he saw the horse and a flame entered his eyes. It was a stallion, a large stallion. Bay in color and with a black mane and tail. The Black snorted uneasily and stomped his hoof. He stretched his neck out towards the other horse and snorted as he took in his scent.

Grayer looked down sheepishly and bit her lip anxiously. She just about fell off her horse when the other girl said hi. "Oh..uh-umm..h-hi..." She stammered immediately. Great...the girl probably thought she was dumb. Grayer closed her eyes, feeling as if she might throw up. Why did she have to be so socially awkward?
Mode snorted and his front hoove struck out in warning to the other stallion. He bared his teeth and pinned his ears angrily. Grayer pulled back on the rope halter and he immediately backed up. She patted his neck thankfully and murmered, "Good boy, Mode."
Grayer focused her attention back on the other girl and gained the courage to say, "My name's Grayer...and this is my horse I Only Date Models. Or just Mode." She sighed deeply, relieved that she hadn't thrown up all over her new clothes. Her jeans were brand new from Cinch and her Western style top, too. She looked very stunning in the outfit, even though it was just for riding.

Dee smiled as the girl stammered in her words. "Don't be shy." she said to her smiling. "I won't bite.". She could tell that the girl was absolutely terrified of her. I wonder why? she thought.
The Black's eyes flared once more, stronger, angrier. His ears pinned back angrily. He snapped his teeth together in a warning. His tail lashed against his legs as he stomped his hoof back at the other horse. Then, his rider pulled him back and The Black let his ears return to normal. That stallion better not challenge him again, or he would have to disobey his master.
Dee smiled. "That's a nice name, I'm Deanna Tye, but you can call me Dee." She rubbed her hand along The Black's neck, "And this here," she said. "Is The Black, my horse." She smiled at the girl again as she rubbed her fingers through his thick black mane.
The Black pointed his ears backward as he felt the soft gentle touch of his rider. She who could only tame him, she who could only ride him, such a respect he had for this young woman, that no person could quite understand.

Grayer nodded uncertainly and stammered, "I'm not shy...just not good at first introductions." She chuckled softly at the girls attempt to be funny and smiled lightly.
Mode slashed his tail angrily through the air as the other stallion pinned his ears and snapped his teeth. The dark bay grinded his teeth, annoyed by the other horse. Grayer pulled back on her reigns and backed her stallion up quickly. She knew he would attack the other horse, and that couldn't be good.
Grayer smiled sheepishly, "Thanks...nice to meet you, Dee. Your horse is nice..." but not near as good as Mode... She added in her head. No horse could compare to her Hano showjumper. He was world class material and she loved him dearly.
Mode snorted angrily and pawed the ground. Grayer shrugged and turned him in a quick circle. She patted his neck softly, trying to soothe the 17 hh horse before something bad happened.

Dee frowned as their horses began to snap at each other, and show obvious signs of aggression. "Well, thank you, but your horse is a feast for the eyes, does he do any jumping or showing?" she asked trying to spark up conversation. "The Black does racing and jumping occasionally." she rubbed his neck as he snorted. "Maybe we should go back to our ranches and meet up at the resteraunt? Or just meet at one of our ranches?" she looked worridly at the two stallions. "I don't know how much longer we can keep them from attacking each other." she said with a small smile. She pulled up on the reins as The Black pawed the ground angrily. "Easy boy." she murmered in his ear.

Grayer nodded enthusiastically. "Ya. Mode is a champion showjumper. He's a blast to ride, but kinda bossy around other horses...as you can see." She muttered softly. She pulled back harder with her lead rope, and Mode immediately responded to his owner's command. The big bay turned another circle as Grayer spoke again. "That sounds like a good idea...I don't know how long I can keep him from attacking The Black." She smiled sheepishly and brushed a lock of brunette hair from her eyes and sighed. "You are welcome to come to my Ranch and hang out for a while...I hope you don't mind dogs though...I've got three."
Grayer smiled, imagining her three dogs. She had Cinch, Buckle, and and her new puppy, Fuzz. Cinch was her ever faithful Border Collie who she trusted completely. Buckle was a beautiful Australian Shepherd, and Fern was a very adorable Border Collie. She loved all her dogs, and would never get rid of them. They were like her children.

Dee smiled. "Maybe you could show me some of his ribbons? He does have some right?" she added. Then she smiled. "Same here, so, what's the name of your ranch? I'll set The Black up and then meet you there, if that's ok?" as she heard about the dogs, a smile lit up her face. "Three dogs eh? I love dogs, what breeds may I ask?". She remembered her older dog, Timber had passed away the year before, he was a beautiful black labrador, she had raised him from birth. A small tear entered her eye, but she quickly wiped it away with the back of her hand. "So, yeah, let's plan on doing that then." she was cut off as she had to yank the reins as hard as she could backwards when the Black lunged. His mouth ched at the sudden pulling and he reeled backwards. "Let's hurry shall we?" she laughed.

Grayer nodded and said, "He has lots of ribbons...They all hang outside his stall." She smiled proudly and patted Mode's neck lovingly. "You're such a good boy."
"My ranch is called Shining Acres. Its 23 acres with a big sign out front. Its hard to miss." She laughed, becoming more comfortable around Dee. "Ya, so you put him away and then I'll show you around my place."
Grayer smiled when she asked about her dogs. "I have a full grown Border Collie named Cinch, and Australian Shepherd name Buckle, and a new Border Collie Puppy named Fuzz. They are adorable." She laughed and was suddenly excited about Dee seeing her ranch. "Okay lets hurry."
(Who shall make the post at my ranch?)

(I'll make it, I like starting posts!)
Dee smiled. "Well, I look forward to seeing your ranch, it sounds like quite a place." she said. Then, with one last smile at the girl, Dee clicked her tounge and directed The Black round in a circle, and began to take him back up the trail towards the ranch. She patted his neck as she thought about the girl she had just met, she had been shy, but with Dee's talktiveness, she had opened up quickly, and now they were visiting at her ranch! She shook her head as she emerged from the dense undergrowth onto the road towards the ranch.
