The ground was soaked and the sky's were dark and cloudy, ominous, even, and the storms clouds started to drift and the sun--instead of showing itself--hid and started to set. Earthworms, drowned and dead, laid out on the paths and raindrops dripped down from the autumn-painted leaves on the treetops. Cold breezes scattered past the scene, tugging loose and detached leaves swirling with them. It was grim and melancholy, especially for those who hated autumn, hated the thought of winter and snow coming. Everything seemed silent; who would want to be out at such an ugly time? There wasn't even crickets' calls or birds' songs; it was silence. Nothing but silence.[/blockquote]
But off to the side of the paths and the trees sat a sight that stood out like a sore thumb. It was a teenage girl no older than eighteen, but she was no ordinary one at that. She sat down on her knees, soaked and shivering, wearing nothing but shorts and a thin, loose, now soaked and see-through sleeveless shirt. Her hair was dyed pink, though it looked so natural, and due to the passed storm, the current lighting, it looked as red as blood. Her eyes matched, toned so deep crimson that it was almost threatening, but they held an expression to innocent, so scared, that they couldn't possibly be feared. Her pupils were shrunk, staring down at her right palm.
Blood oozed down her wrist and hand, a piece of broken glass next to her. Though, she had no idea why. She didn't know why she was in those clothes or that place or much of anything, really. Her eyes started down blankly as her hand started to twitch. She trembled almost violently as she peered up, her focus locking on the the diamond-like stars that were slowly fading into the sky behind the clouds. The temperature only seemed to be dropping... That was obvious, even to the naive, childish seeming girl, but she stood and let her eyes wander. She looked so out of place lost, like a child who was separated from her parents because of a crowd. ...Why?
Why...? Why, why?!
The question spiraled though her head and she winced at a flash of pain. There was no answer to her inner pleads of questions. She knew nothing. Nothing of who she was or where she came from... All she seemed to remember was opening her eyes and seeing blood. She heard laughters inside her head... Whether she was going insane or if those were no more than vague, painful memories... she wasn't sure. But either way, they were taunting... discouraging.
The aches in her head didn't cease, and, finding her vision becoming blurry, water streaming down her face she bounded for wards, frantic, not knowing what to do. Her strides were unsteady, unbalanced, and before to long she sunk to her knees, shielding her face, sobbing out of nothing but panic and fear. "Nyu!" she babbled helplessly, as if speaking gibberish. "Nyu! Nyu!" Her blood red eyes peeked out from behind her hands and messy, uneven red-pink hair.
Her breaths, her taken in by gasps, slowed as she lowered her hands down her hold her arms, the blood from her right hand smearing down her cheek, neck, shoulder... She was a mess, nothing less of a terrible, pathetic mess to see. And who would want to help such a strange, ominous, amnesia-struck girl? They would have to be either crazy or too soft. But she was hoping that someone would find her... anyone.
