Amethyst gritted her teeth and slapped her hands on to her hips. "People call me stubborn as a mule. And so I am. I insist." She had the nerve to go slap some sense into Joe. Her family had the blood of real cowboys and cowgirls. She could catch one easy. Well, not easy, but it came naturally to her. She loved being on the back of a horse and... even breaking one in.
"I'll get back at you later, Joe." Ammy turned away from him, she put her right hand in her pocket, and her left helping her lean against her horse. "That's right baby, your a mom." She patted her horse and yawned. She wanted to get back to her house and get to her new puppy. She hoped she hadn't peed in the house.

Joe took in a deep breath, surpressed it, and let it out slow. As it gripped it's leg, fear seized him as she came down. Had he hurt her? As he trotted ever-so-quietly over, he saw she wasn't dead. I got 'er. That was surprising. He dismounted and told Tres to stay. He walked over to her and bent down next to her. He rubbed her mane, down to her thigh. His head was sticky with sweat. It was disgusting.
Weather-worn fingers cut the lasso loose and wrapped it then around her neck. You're a sweetheart. Not very... well fed I guess. Need some food, but nothin' to boost your beauty. You're too pretty for that. He grinned and rubbed her neck again. She seemed so sacred. And was definantly a dancer, the way she moved. Sacred Dancer... Santinka. Of course! He was studing some language back in early high school and heard of this word.
Santinka. He pulled a cantin from his belt and opened it. He poured it over her face and in her mouth. Not all of it though. He put it back and rubbed her stomach again. I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Sweety. Joe couldn't surpress a smile, then wondered how said it. He clucked his tongue for the pinto to rise and tied the rope twice around Tres. "I really do need to get you to a farrier, and maybe a vet. No harm in a check up"
Joe told Tres to stay again and walked over to a pair of travelers. Howdy, Miss. You dun look like you're from these parts. He said. She definantly did not. She looked so mystical, it made him shiver. He did not know why, he just did. I'm Joe. Joe Forester. You, madam?

Sly had again became peacefully, causing her eyes to slowly drift downward. It was amazing how much she trusted the horse in which she sat. How couldn't she trust this beautifully built sorrel horse. She had done nothing but keep Sly safe, and gave her the love she never received from her father back home. Howdy, Miss. You dun look like you're from these parts. Startled, Sly opened her eyes quickly, and almost let her grip go of the reins.
Without knowing it, she had stumbled on to a camp of some sort. Sly stared blankly for awhile longer, realizing there was more than just the man in front of her. There were also other women, and horses. [glow=black,2,300]"I'm Sly Xylina, and yes, I'm not from around here." [/glow]Sly politely dismounted, and dropped to the ground gracefully, causing her long copper hair to swing. She wiped her sweat covered brow with her left hand, while striding forward extending her right hand out to Joe.
It had been a long time since she had spoken to other people, but she took to it easy enough. Sly had always been very outgoing, and ready to speak her mind, but she also knew when to remain silent. After properly introducing herself, she stepped toward SweetThing, who was standing patiently. Sly had decided this was far enough and she would take Sweety's stuff off, to let her cool down for abit before she head out again.
Once finished with the tack, she turned to take her dusty green cloak off, wanting to cool down herself. She patted at her pants, beating the dust right out of them, and then turned back to Joe, who seemed to be staring at her. She let a sweet smile escape as she walked toward him, almost forgetting there were other people. "Do you know of any place I could take my horse? We've been traveling a long time and I want her to rest awhile, and possibly a vet check." Her Emerald green eyes looked to Joe hopefully as she waited for his response. All the while SweetThing grazed happily nearby.
...
Sweety swished her tail at the advancing flies, but other wise ignored the other horses around her. She would rather be alone with Sly, but she knew Sly needed some friends other than a horse, so she would just have to deal. [glow=maroon,2,300]"Better to stall the vet check anyway..."[/glow] SweetThing shuddered at the thought, and continued her grazing peacefully.

I lay still, trying to figure out how the ground had come up so fast under me. Had I tripped? I did not think so. So the rope must have done it. I knew then that I could not fight against a rope, for if I did, I would be brought again and again to the earth. I had seen horses try to fight against the men who imprisoned them, and I had learned through watching them that to fight was futile. They were always beaten down. And if they would not be beaten... Well, I had seen one, a stallion, who would not submit. And his neck was broken. The humans killed him. So I knew that I was not to fight against this thing. I watched as the human's boots proceeded across the ground, only vaguely hearing his voice through the fear that pounded through my veins. And all of a sudden, he was beside me. My fear bade me flee, and I was halfway up when I realized that the rope was still around my ankle. That the stallion was holding it there, actually HELPING this man imprison me. So I collapsed again to the ground, as he came over me.
The hand on my neck made me shudder. For I knew that those hands could bring a lot of pain. I had seen men beat their horses with sticks and leather whips. But this hand did not hurt me, only began to smooth the hair on my neck. It was not a feeling that gave me pleasure, but there was no pain in it, either. Every place that hand touched, I flinched away expecting a blow to come at any moment. I felt as he release my ankle from the bind, and even though my heart screamed to stand, I did not. His voice was what held me. It was not mean, or cruel, as men's voices often are, but soft. As if he knew what I had been through. I allowed him to fasten the rope around my neck, one ear cocked towards him, listening. I liked that voice, and it did some to relieve my fear. I found that now, I could think, that the blind helplessness of terror had faded and I could see again. His hand was back on my neck again, this time rubbing across the hair. I rather liked that feeling, and his quiet voice as it talked to me.
I had never known my name in the human language, but when he said it, I knew what he meant. I knew that it was to be my name. It was a good name. The water he splashed so gently over my face startled me at first, but I was thirsty, and took what he gave me. Another voice, off in the distance, startled me, and I turned an ear towards it. Another human? Joe turned away from me, and I took it as a cue that I could rise without being brought to the ground again. I did, knowing that the rope was between me and Tres, that I could not escape. Very well. The human had done me know harm as of yet. I watched as another mare and her human came into sight. The mare seemed quite happy, and did not run even when her human let her loose. Why? These tame horses baffled me. I turned to the stallion who was holding me, curious. "Why did you capture me?" I asked, quietly, afraid to speak to him. But I could not understand what the human was saying, and the only understanding that I would get would be from the other horses.

"I'm Sly Xylina, and yes, I'm not from around here." She had an odd name. Sly. Was that because of her personality? Joe had no idea. He just replied. Unique name. Joe shoved a hand in his pocket and rocked on his feet of a moment.
"Do you know of any place I could take my horse? We've been traveling a long time and I want her to rest awhile, and possibly a vet check." Vet? Oh right. He had forgetton the name clinic that was built in town. He took care of his own horses, so he usually didn't go there. Yuh. Just follow the trail over there...- He pointed towards the north, where a trail was visible. And it will lead you into town. Then just follow the road for two turns, and the third one you will have to take. Then just pass a couple of buildings and I think that is it.
Joe was pretty sure that was the directions. 'Scuse me, but since I've given you what you needed, I have to go tend to a horse I just caught. Gee, I hope that was not rude. But he couldn't put any other way unless he just walked away. So he nodded, and went over to the pinto mare. He watched her get up from a good ten feet away and watched her interact with his horse. Then after a few minutes, he walked over and began to inch closer, careful not to startle her.
-------------------------------------------------------
Joe brought her down. Tres's heart thumped, and half wished it had missed. He was forced forward, and he did. But force was not a good word for it. More of... Eased forward. Tres watched him tend to her, and then knew he wasn't going to hurt her, like his previous owner did when he was caught.
Suddenly, Joe walked off. Voices started to come up and Tres tried to listen, but what good was it? He couldn't understand anyway. Why did you capture me? He was startled by her. He hadn't relized she had gotten up. I-i-i-i... I don't know. I guess I was suppose to. And frankly, I wasn't the one who threw the wretched rope. He grinned suddenly, out of no where.

Maddison......
When I heard the sound of hand's slapping on a body, I turned to face Amethyst, with a somewhat confused look on my face as to why she did it, though it soon left when I listened to what she had to say. "People call me as stubborn as a mule. And so I am. I insist." A sigh left my lip's and I looked down for a moment, eyebrow's furrowed slightly. Then I lifted my head back up to look at Amethyst again. "I have no say in this, do I?" While I didn't want to intrude in on Amethyst's house and annoy her, it seemed that I had no choice in the matter. She could very well force me back to her place. I knew it'd do me and my unborn child good to be around people, instead of being alone and homeless, forced to steal or take handout's in order to survive. I didn't really want Amethyst to pay for the stuff I needed, I wanted to be able to do it by myself. I was alway's like that, even as a small child. But I knew that she'd let me have no say in the matter, even if I only just met her. Even if I only just met her, she's shaping up to be a good friend, one that someone could rely on.
"I'll get back at you later, Joe." I watched as Amethyst put her right hand in her pocket, and used her left to lean up against her horse. "That's right baby, your a mom." I watched Amethyst for another moment as she patted her horse then yawned, before I turned my attention back to Joe interacting with another person and their horse. Squinting my eye's just slightly, I could make out that the person was a girl. I unsquinted my eyes and watched as they talked to one another, Joe's arm pointing in one direction, before he walked back to the mare he recently roped. Maybe the new person asked for direction's into town. I watched as the girl and her horse moved off in the direction Joe had pointed them in, before taking one last look at Joe and the mare he roped, and I turned my attention back to Amethyst leaning on her mare. Smiling somewhat, I held my right hand out to pat the mare, and took slow, small step's toward's her, hoping not to scare her. When I got close enough to the mare, I held my hand out for her to sniff, and then I waited to see if she placed her nose on my hand, letting me pat her. I wanted the mare to make the first move, so that way, I wouldn't scare her. Aside from today, I've never been able to pat a horse, or get close to one (except that day), so this was kind of new to me. I wanted to learn how to care for a horse, and how to ride one. It seemed so exciting.
OOC...... I am SO sorry for making you all wait. I feel so bad. ;_;

Joe stroked the mare one last time before clicking his tongue at her and standing up. He bumped the rope a little bit. Santinka's first lesson, he guessed. "Come on..."
Joe walked over to the girls again. Hey... 'gain. He noticed the girls must be going somewhere. If you're going somewhere, Maddison, then why don't you ride Tres? He's really sweet, and I don't like the idea of you walking. He said, rocking his feet. He had a slight crush on her, but he didn't know why he was being so... concerned. His black hair was in his face, and his white hat was crooked. He looked much like an idiot, Joe figured, so he tried to straighten his hat. So... you are staying at Ammy's? Thyst, I have to hand it to you, you're very pushy and you seem to get your way most of the time. I wish I had your talent. He said sarcasticly, joking all the way. ---------------------------------------------------
Tres's ears pricked. What? She's gunna ride me?! Dang it. Oh well. She's kinda pretty. If I were a human or she were a horse... mreow! He looked over at Santinka. She was a pretty paint. And he was a large... draft horse guy.
Santinka? May I tell you something? If I could I would let you go. But... Joe is really a nice owner. He'd never whip you or try to hurt you. And he might try and break you in..... Not actually break you, but to help you learn how to... carry someone I guess. He tried to put it the best way he could, but, as the wild horse the mare was, she might take this all in as completely cruel, unthinkable torture.
