Prince...
Dull eyes scanned the land infront. There was nothing left for the two pups, so now they had ventured here. Prince smiled, trying to keep his sister's spirits high "life won't be bad forever, just stay strong" he said before scampering off to find food. Penny was left alone, she stretched her frail body and started to paw at the earth. Hooves pounded the earth, a small clump of deer were coming through. She smiled and watched them, the moves they made and how she could one day hunt beasts like them. Unfortuenty, that would be only if she survived. She was lucky, she could eat solids but her sisters cubs were only tiny. A week at the most and they couldn't live, she had watched them all struggle and become weaker until death parted them. Penny would of yapped, if her brother hadn't told her that death could become easy if she did but death still haunted her now. Birds and other animals would be delighted to eat a small cub. No land was welcoming the cubs, but here she would stay and this time build a tiny den for tiny cubs. They would have shelter from rain and the birds, both things the cubs hated.
Prince scampered back, his head was held high as usual. You could tell who was alpha between the cubs. Sun shined on his coat today, spring brought many things but this time it bought the sun and its warmth. He finally spotted his sister, digging in the dirt and she was wagging her tail. Something was in her mouth, he wondered what. As Prince got closer, he realised his sister was eating a worm and she was chewing it happily then digging in the ground more. She had good ideas sometimes, this was one as worms could provide some nourishment and were a easy meal. He picked up her half eaten worm and finished the rest quickly, watching his sister dig more but it was looking more like a hole then a hunting ground. "We aren't staying, why build a den?" he said licking his lips and lying down, glancing at the sky every now and then, "because I want to survive, we are staying put" she snapped. Growling came from Prince but the battle was won, she had made up her mind and they were staying put.

Aikanar Is Here
Aikanar (I-Kuh-Narr) ran over the plains in glee. It was summer, the best of all times. The bright sun made him happy most of all but a consequence was more animals sat at the water hole trying to get their fill in the rising heat. "These mongrels would never survive a day in the desert." He mumbled as he passed a group of giraffe, legs spread and long necks leaning forward for the cool river. The only animals who were remotely afraid of him being so close where the small springbok with their offspring, and other creatures of the like. He was hungry but he wasn't ready to hunt in the heat of the day. As he traveled on his back he spotted a small cub digging a whole and another one watching her as she dug. He stopped and tilted his head as he watched them. "Where is their mom? Hmm...an easy meal too." He licked his chops, and shook his head. The pups were frail and certainly bones was not his cup of tea. He turned and headed off to his den with his thick gray tail barely scraping the ground.

Prince...
Tiny paws scraped against the dirt. Penny would not give up, she dug until her fragile legs ached. When she could dig no longer, she stopped and then saw the male. She took a step toward the figure who was moving away from them. Suddenly Prince jumped in front of her, he was growling "what do you think your doing? He will try and kill us!" came his harsh vocals. Penny stepped back, she lied down and whined. UNFINISHED
