Butterfly reared in her pasture. She loved to jump around, especially the weather was getting better. She dropped her hooves to the ground, and grazed quietly. She had gotten well fed over the days, better food then the wild ones. Butterfly swatted her tail at the flies, and trotted around the fence. She was looking for Roxy, she was bored and wanted something to eat. An apple for Butterfly? She snorted and looked towards the house, patiently. She lowered her head and walked, looking for a flower to snack on instead.
The beautiful palomino wondered when she was to begin training. The saddle training. She would pretend to put up a fight, then give in. She loved putting up fights anyway. Butterfly trotted to the center of the field. If there were any horses here, she hadn't really noticed them, she was too busy looking for Roxy. She wanted to see her.
She shook her mane and looked up expectantly. The grass was balnd, and she craved a juicy apple or crunchy carrot. She whinnied towards the house, then gave up. She went back to grazing. She leaped through the air, and landed gracefully, and bent her head to graze as if she hadn't even done it.

Roxanne
Roxy stood in her small cabin, looking out the window in a slightly dazed fashion. Her brown eyes lay on the pasture that held her new mare, Butterfly. A light smile played across her lips and she seemed to snap out of her trance. Shaking her head, she walked into her bed room, grabbing her hat and situating it on top of the mass of coffee colored curls. Brown eyes sparkling, she walked out of her house, gazing at her ranch fondly, before starting the short walk down to the pasture that held her palomino mare.
The girl stopped at the tack room for a moment, grabbing some of the basic things she would need. Juggling the stuff fairly easily in her arms, she shut the door behind her, and continued towards the fenced area. A rather strong gust of wind blew her hat back, and the stampede string caught around her neck, stopping the hat from falling off completely. Grunting slightly, she moved the tack a little bit, so that she could grab the hat and put it back on her head.
Finally, she was standing in front of the pasture. She put the tack on the fence, grinning at the golden mare behind the fence. Putting one boot on the fence, she hopped up so that she was now sitting on the top of it. She let out a soft whistle. "Hey Butterfly!" Brown eyes sparkling as she watched the mare. With a soft push, she jumped off the gate, and landed with a dull thud on the ground inside the pasture. "You ready to get started with training today?" She asked the mare with a smile.

Butterfly happily closed her eyes and blew through her lips. She threw up her head and whinnied. She jerked her eyes open and trotted to Roxy. She snorted and whinnied quietly, affectionately. She was happy to see her owner. She had been so bored. Butterfly sniffed he items Roxanne was holding, and she jumped backward and neighed.
The golden filly walked slowly back, reluctantly. The items were interesting, and she sniffed them once again. She pricked her ears and stared in wonder. The mare was a brown filly when young, but had goldened as she grew. Now, standing here was a beautiful golden filly. Her mane was light, almost white.
Butterfly swung her head around, to observe where she was. Roxy's house was near, and was pretty big for most of the houses the filly had seen, which was few. The pasture was roomy, and she liked it. She loved to run and jump, her legs, powerful enough to jump the fence, but she didn't want to.
She whinnied again and pressed her head to Roxy's chest. Butterfly pawed the ground impatiently, and flicked her tail to slap a few flies, trying to land on her rear. She decided it wasn't that worth it, turned, and trotted back to the center of the pasture to graze.

Roxanne
"Come here silly girl" Roxy called to her horse affectionately. She grinned as the horse trotted towards her, once again admiring the golden gleam of the mare's coat. She chuckled when the mare jumped back, right after sniffing at the items she had brought. "Pretty little Butterfly." She spoke softly. "They don't bite you know." She grinned at her horse. Savoring the sound of it, her horse.
"Now all I need to do is train ya, huh girl." She smiled as the mare pressed her head up against her chest. Roxy watched her turm away, then begin to graze int he center of the green pasture. "Alright, lets start." She said with confidence in her voice. She knew how to handle horses, she wasn't worried in any way. Then again, breaking a horse was always risky business, regardless of how experienced you were.
Roxy grabbed the saddle blanket, and walked up to the sun-kissed mare. "C'mon Butterfly, lets see if we can do this." She started with rubbing the pad on the mare's hide, trying to get her used to the feel of it. You couldn't just throw it on a horse, not unless you wanted to scare them half to death.
Next she followed with the saddle and the bridle. Until the mare was fully tacked. Once she had the mare standing calmly, she put one boot in the stirrup, swinging up onto the mare's back quickly. She held on with her knees, and had a firm hold on the reins, and a bit of mane for extra security in the saddle.
[OOC: rushed through the tacking up process, feel free to have Butterfly fight in anyway. Sorry if you consider this slight powerplaying]

Butterfly nickered, she allowed to put the tack on. But when Roxy jumped on her, she didn't expect it. She ran took off, through the pasture. She jumped, and bucked, and neighed frantically. She throw herself against the fence, and reared. She pulled, she bent her neck and tried to pull at the bridle. Butterfly's sides heaved and she kicked up.
Butterfly stopped, and made one last attempt. She reared, pawing the at the sky. She shook her head, her nostrils flared. Her sides heaved, and she threw her head up, to the sky. Butterfly made and sighing noise, and walked to the center of the pasture, slow and considerate
Sweat rolled down her side, but she was just happy to be with her owner. Yeah, she was over it... she had gotten used to it again, even though it... felt... weird. She was used to her back being free. Butterfly knew she would have to obey sooner or later, it was the human way.
Butterfly closed her eyes and imagined herself running across the plains, going places. But she also missed humans, when she was free. So either way, she'd be missing something. The filly pulled one more time, and flicked up her hooves, ready to do somemore. She was ready, she wanted to do some more.

Roxanne
Roxy braced herself when she jumped into the saddle. Ready for anything the mare had to throw at her, she was used to doing this. She'd done it plenty of times before, and this was nothing new for the young cowgirl. With some effort, she stayed in the saddle when Butterfly started bucking and jumping around. Roxy grunted slightly when the mare slammed against the fence, the impact on Roxy's leg was enormous, but not enough to bring a lot of pain.
She put her weight forward on the mare, when Butterfly reared. With a tight hold on the reins, she was able to keep the mare's head at least partially up when Butterfly made an attempt to rid herself of the bridle that restrained her head. Roxy could feel the mare's sides shuddering as Butterfly took in large breaths after exerting her energy.
The young woman waited for anything more the mare was going to do. Finally, the mare reared, and once again, Roxy pushed all her wait to the front of the horse, leaning forward, trying to get the mare back on all four hooves. Finally, Butterfly came to a standstill, before turning and walking, very slowly, to the middle of the pasture, which left Roxy slightly confused.
Did the horse already give up? Then again, it had seemed that Butterfly had known something of humans. Perhaps she had begun to remember what she had been taught previously. Of course, since she had been free for at least a while, the mare would be unpredictable for a while. She loosened one hand, and stroked the mare's sweaty neck. "Good job, Butterfly. Yeah, you did good beautiful girl." Roxy crooned softly to the tired mare.
