Name: Rowan Elizabeth Kennis Nicknames?: Rowan Age: 21 Gender: Female Physical Description: Rowan is what some would call beautifully wild, with curls that seem tame one day and are crazily frizzy the next. Her eyes are a stunning hazel, changing color in the light and with color, shifting from blue to gray and with a single sliver of permanent brown in her right eye, quartering it. She wears thick-framed tortoiseshell glasses, partly due to the fact that she kept on losing contacts when she wore them. Her lips are naturally full, but pale, and need a bit of color so that she looks good. Her eyebrows are pencil-thin and very expressive, raising and changing with mood. Her face in itself is very expressive, her mood is always obvious, and she has no poker face to speak of.
Rowan would love to be a tall person, but simply isn't. Her legs are short and her arms are long, giving her a slightly bemused appearance sometimes. A natural dip in her back gives her an elegant posture, but her coordination is far from great. She tends to keep her eyes on the ground when walking, she trips often over herself. She's not extremely fast or strong, although she can manage with whatever needs managing. She loves her hair, despite what some people say about unmanageable curls, and likes to keep it short and bouncy and just a little bit wild. Overall, she has a slightly feral appearance, as if she doesn't quite belong on this Earth, a slightly impish point to her ears, a quick twitch of her mouth in laughter. Weight: 120 lbs Height: 5' 5" Personality: Rowan is as wild as she looks. She's a deep thinker, highly intelligent, and loves to solve those big, nasty problems and mysteries in life. Anything that seems challenging she will dive at with everything she has, and she tends to persevere for at least a little bit. She gets frustrated when she can't figure something out or can't remember something that she should. She has an eidetic memory, that is, she can recall things that most people wouldn't, and thereby notice when things just don't make sense. She's a bit anal retentive, and won't read any book with a loop in the plotline that just doesn't work. She cannot stand people who are dumb or conceited, even if it's not their fault, and is quick to annoyance, but not to anger. She's actually a very amiable person, but a bit reserved. She doesn't like to talk about herself much, and sometimes comes off as rather shy and a bit quiet.
Rowan believes that everything ought to have a logical explanation, even those things that seem mysterious, like love or death. As a result, she's something of a skeptic and a bit pessimistic. She tends to label things: no relationship will last forever, no one will be happy forever. Strangely, she is a happy person for the most part, or at least seeks out happiness. She believes that life is for the living and that she should not be concerned with what happens after that. She's rational and calm in all things, and her brain is a jumble of rationale and knowledge. She knows a lot about some things - those that interest her - but her lack of knowledge in anything else (such as economics) is astounding. Rather Holmesian. History: Rowan was born near Houston, Texas, where she lived for three years before moving out to suburban Georgia. At the age of ten, her parents divorced over a long and bitter argument, and Rowan was depressed for a while, shut off and quiet, with few friends and many enemies. She was teased because she did so well academically, set apart by the fact that she understood what the others did not, and her only refuge was her sole friend, a rather zany academic who dreamed of stars. This friend basically brought Rowan back from the brink, convinced her that it was worth it, and life, as always, went on. Rowan stopped attending church, and began to develop ideals of her own, setting her apart even more... She took riding lessons sparingly, passionate about it but without the financial means to get into it.
Middle school was practically a miracle for her. Here, the classes were separated, and she finally found that there were, in fact, others like her, who thought before they spoke and used good sense. She made friends. She found joy. And then her mother re-married. The man was not a friend to Rowan, he was cruel, harsh, abrasive in every manner. And, while he was not abusive, he was stupid. And Rowan hated him for it. Hated with every fiber of her being his teasing and drinking, and feared for her mother and for herself. Thank goodness her mother saw what she had done, and the man disappeared forever, but not without leaving a welt on Rowan's pride and happiness.
It would be horses that got her through, and with the help of them she managed to stay happy externally, fooling her mother and friends into thinking that she was truly happy, while all the while she wished only to sink into herself and drift away and forget. But she never did, and never will, and life went on. As it always did. Rowan began to see a pattern there. It was always better to accept things as they came, and know that they would pass. And again and again she was right. Herself and those around her went through various travesties, but always survived and things panned out. She had boyfriends. They all left in the end. Her mother had a boyfriend. They never got married, although they were happy.
And there was never true love or those ideals that Rowan found only in books. She began to despair of romances, although at heart she truly and really hoped that, somehow, somewhere, it really did exist. In time, her friends drifted away, and so did she, following some distant wind. She wound up here, finishing college and getting ready for work, loving horses and music but having time for neither. Now, perhaps, she will finally find what exactly it is she is supposed to do, and how it is that she will be remembered... For, above all things, she does not want to die alone.
Obviously based off of myself highly. Up to the physical description xD
