Icy blue eyes wandered around the sparkling campfire, looking at everyone in the tribe. Every single face was lit by the burning fire, looking toward the wise elder's cabin, and young Mapilla was also waiting in anticipation for the elder to appear and tell them all story. The elder then hobbled over and sat by the fire, she had long white hair and grey eyes, before looking at all the children inculding Mapilla and then she smiled which showed her yellow teeth "let me tell you about the magical wolf" she said in a hushed tone, feeding the fire. Sitting on a rather large log, the elder began her story "a long time ago, in the years of the great war a evil wizard named Seret created a magical wolf to do his bidding. The wolf was so powerful he never done the what the wizard told him to do, he hated the wizard's way so much that he ended up killing young Seret. They had named him Nebashida, the magical wolf, and do you want to see him dearest children?" she said and everyone nodded eagerly but then elder slowly turned away and she was turning to western forest. With one knarled old finger she pointed to the western forest that was apparently haunted by the evil spirits and cursed by the god, Haban "people say he sleeps and hunts in there, if you want to track him children then know one thing" she said and then drew and six pointed star in the ground with her long nail "follow that print which glows blue, be careful as its only there six hours before it vanishes completely with no trace left behind" with them last words the elder stepped up and hobbled slowly back to her cabin. Quickly standing, Mapilla ran toward the elder and looked into her wise eyes "please, tell me more about Nebashida" she said and the elder quickly ushered her into the cabin. "That, my dear, is all I know about him but I do know about the wizard" she said and lit a small fire in the cabin "every time the moon covers the sun, the first baby born he will become them. The child under his control will have a connection with the wolf that is more powerful than any spell or curse in the whole world". Flames flickered around their faces, Mapilla heard her mother call and sighed before bidding goodnight the elder and leaving the small cabin but the elder called her "dearest Mapilla, I know your plans. Good luck my dear" she said and stood, taking Mapilla's hands in her own wrinkled palms "hulo pus buw ala me cal joo" she said almost in a trance and then her eyes flashed at Mapilla. "You are now charmed and evil spirits will not harm you, go to the mage at once as she already knows" came her kind voice and Mapilla ran out and then saw her mother "I need to talk to the mage, elder told me" she said quickly before walking into the mage's cabin. "Ah, Mapilla" she said and gazed into her eyes "you will be safe as long as I can see you" she then ran her hands over the ball that was in the middle of a table. She looked into it and smiled "as soon as you are through the mountains, your on your own" she said, her eyes watering "I love you Map, I would come with you but I'm not what I used to be". Mapilla then started to cry "goodbye" she sobbed and walked out and into her own cabin.
