Ace led his horse across the sand, she was happily walking beside her master. He then mounted bareback and laced his fingers in her mane, he then made his horse go into a galllop as it was a easy gait across the sand. Slowly, they edged closer to the ocean and Destiny strode in happily. She loved the water and she strode in until it was just above her canons. Ace smiled and the tide slowly rocked against them. The waves were weak and they slowly started to walk back toward the beach. Ace then sat down near the dunes and Destiny stood watching the waves. He looked around at the deserted beach, it was chilly and he was happy as the cold weather was great for him. He loved to be out in the cold as it seemed to sooth him in a way. It was weird, he was getting lonely on the sand by himself. Standing up, he leaned against Destiny's neck and stroked her mane as his horse always gave him comfort. She was the one who got him through his parents death, he had never worked out why he had counted on his horse so much but it always seemed like she always knew if he was down.
Mounting Destiny again he made her walk across the beach, her hooves printing the sand and he smiled. He had his arms by his sides, just gripping on with his muscular legs. Ace rode everywhere, he was too young for a car and if it wasn't riding he would jog to places. He didn't have a good income either, only the money his parents gave him in their will and half of that is in his savings account and will be given to him at eighteen. He only had five thousand pounds and that still wasn't enough to keep him going. He wanted a great racing stables, it was his dream to win the big races and become a champion. He needed this dream to make him rich, he wanted his horses to have a pedigree with champions in them. No one could tear him away from this dream, even though he has already given up on it himself. His ranch is a run down piece of junk and he hates it. No one made great horses without a great stables and he kenw that so well.

Kota cruised along on her skateboard, smiling as the wind whipped her light brown hair out behind her. Her eyes lit up excitedly as the beach came into view. She hadn't been to a beach in ages. Besides, her brother was being boring. He was going to the library to get a math book to try and study. She snorted, knowing him, he wouldn't be getting any studying done in a library. For one thing, they would probably kick him out for being to loud. If not that, on his way back he would probably run across someone and start talking, regardless if he knew them or not. She glanced around, continueing to go down the small street. It wasn't long before she was almost to where she wanted to be. She stopped the skateboard. Picking it up and then walking towrads the beach. She grinned at the glistening golden sand, and the blue waves rushing onto the shore. The sound of seagulls and the smell of the salt water greeted her, making her feel at home. To bad she hadn't thought to borrow her brother's surf board.
She dropped her board onto the sand, twirling on the spot, a huge smile on her face, eyes dancing in pure delight, with brown hair whirling around her, hopelessly trying to keep up with her turning body. She stopped after a few seconds, feeling a bit dizzy, but still grinnning like a fool. Turning slowly, she jogged to the edge of the water, gazing out across the blue expanse, smiling. A whinny caused her to turn around, she spotted a horse a ways down the beach with someone riding, obviously. But she was to far away to see the person riding. She broke into a jog, unfortunately, twenty or so feet before she got to them, her dizzyness caught up to her, and she tripped, a sharp shell ripping a hole in the right knee of the dark brown-ish black jeans she was wearing. "Gosh darnit" She exclaimed as she fell, landing with a thud. Groaning, she let herself lay in the sand, not bothering to stand up, or even sit up. Sand speckled the brown t-shirt, that had light green sleeves.

Ace walked Destiny around the beach, he loved it when the win caught them and it caused his light brown hair to go back and it made him look like he had it spiked up. A small slither of sun appeared behind a cloud and it shone down on the sea making it sparkle. He then urged Destiny back toward the sea and she happily went in to the water and she started to swim as it got deeper. Ace rolled up his jeans and felt the cold water against them when he put his legs back down. He loved to just be in the water and be free from the chores at his ranch for a while. He was suprised he even got the ranch at his age but he had managed not to go into care. He watched the small waves for a while and then he got his bagpack and got out a sketchbook. Rummaging for a pencil he quickly found a pencil and started to draw. He done some small sketches and ones of him riding Destiny even though he couldn't see himself riding her. After doing some small sketches he put the sketchbook back and let Destiny work her way back up to the beach.
The tanned boy had seen the girl "city gal, what she doin' in this town, 'ey Des" he said glancing at her. She had a skateboard down the beach, he would love to see her ride that on the sand. As she started to run over Destiny stepped back a little and snorted but Ace knew how to calm her down and he stroked the mares neck. She stayed still but still watched wearily as she came closer to them. Ace dismounted quicker than a riding champion when she fell, he jogged over to her with Destiny walking with him. "Hey, you alright there miss" he said and crouched down on the sand. Destiny took this oppurtunity to try and eat his hair which she done so often it was a suprise he wasn't bald. She whinnied a little and Ace stood carefully patting her. He then held out a hand to the girl to help her up, she did look around his age and he smiled as it meant that she wouldn't ask too many questions about where his parents were. He hated it when people asked that, as he had always blamed their death on him.

A light blush covered her cheeks as she fell, in front of someone she didn't know, no less. Her timing was horrible, and she was an idiot, in her eyes that is. She squeezed her eyes shut, almost hoping that when she opened them, this would all be a horrible dream. A nightmare really. And honestly, she knew better than to run up to a horse, it was idiotic, and for some reason, she did it. She didn't even know why. Gritting her teeth together, she stayed perfectly still. To bad that theory of, 'if I can't see them, they can't see me', didn't really work. Muttering under her breath she still had yet ot say anything. Stubbornly, she refused to open her eyes, wanting to just crawl under a rock and die. After all, she was only fifteen, and still a little sensitive about others opinions of her. No matter who was sitting on the horse. Whoever it was, was probably laughing their head off because of her stupidity.
Kota heard the sound of someone coming over, and she cringed, her face still flushed a light rosey pink. At the sound of a voice, she opened her eyes, spotting a guy her age crouched down near her. Wow, apparently things could get worse. She inwardly groaned, and sat up, looking over at him, hair hanging over one of her eyes. "I just fell over right in front of a stranger and his horse." She remarked bluntly. "I'm just peachy." She grumbled dryly. Glancing up, her sour expression was replaced by a sincere smile as the mare just trying to eat her owner's hair. She glanced at his hand, and then up at him when he extended it. Hesitantly, she stuck her hand out, and hopped up, using him for support. Quickly, she let go of his hand, a light pink still dusting her face. "My name's Dakota, nice to meet you..." She said quietly. Usually she wasn't quiet, but the entire experience was more than embarrassing for her.

Ace chuckled at her comment "yes, just peachy" he said laughing. When she smiled instead of the sour expression she looked rather pretty, it had been a while since he even looked at a girl twice. As she stood he put his hand back and crossed his arms "nice name, Dakota. I am Ace and this is Destiny" he said pointing to his horse who pricked her ears at the sound of her name. He laughed and stroked her nose, making Destiny flick her tail happily. He then started conversation "so Dakota, do you have a ranch here? I do, even at fifteen" he said and then groaned "I have to do tons of math, stupid thing". He had been trying to pay some bills this morning, even with a calculator nothing seemed to add up right and he ended up throwing the book against the wall. Yes, he didn't get off to a good start this morning so he decided to calm down and go to the beach. It turned out a good thing as he met Dakota, she was quite pretty and he could tell they would become friends. It seemed Destiny liked her too, but maybe that was because he did.
He then took hold of Destiny's bridle and looked at Dakota "we were heading back to my ranch if you want to come along. I would love some company" he said, his ranch wasn't that great and he was planning where to start building. His dream of a famous racing stable never really died "I want my stables to be famous, in racing that is, but I guess that won't really happen" he said laughing. His mother had always told him that any dream can come true, he hoped that she was right and his dream to own a famous racing stable would come true. He ran his free hand through his hair and then tucked it into his jeans pocket. He wanted to go capturing wilds soon, he would have fun flinging his lasso around and trying to capture the horses. He was rather strong and had amazing aim so he thought it wouldn't be that hard to catch one or two horses. He started to step forward, walking Destiny back toward the road where he could get to his ranch quickly.

Of all the times to embarass herself, she happened to do it right in front of a rather cute guy, that just turned out to be her age. Fabulous, no really. Heck yeah that was sarcasm! She glanced up, her pinks still a bit rosey from the experience she had just been through. "Yeah, I like it." She mumbled in reply to the compliment he gave her. "Ace and Destiny?" She asked curiously. Turning her head, her face lit up with a smile, and her eyes sparkled happily. "She's pretty..." Kota breathed, sighing dreamily as she looked at the mare. "How long have you had her?" She questioned, still looking at the horse, before realizing she could come off as rude, quickly she snappign her head towards Ace with a soft smile playing across her lips. "A ranch? No, we're renting at a place at the moment, by we're trying to find a ranch that we could work at, you know, room and board or whatever." She said with a friendly smile as she talked. Kota laughed out loud at his comment on math. "Yeah, I'd assume that could get a little difficult, doing bills when you're only fifteen. Do you have to have a guardians permission to have your own place underaged?" She asked, curiosity bubbling over in her voice.
At his offer, Kota hesitated. Her brother always told her to never go anywhere with strangers, especially if no one was going to be arround. But this was a new town, and everyone here was a stranger. Besides, Ace was her age, it wasn't like he was going to do anything to her.. Apparently, she waited to long to decide, because by the time she had come to a decision, Ace was walking off and leading Destiny. She jogged after them. It didn't take her long to pull up alongside them. "I'll take you up on that offer." She said with a grin. "Is Destiny your only horse?" She asked. Some would assume she was nosey, but what other way was there to learn more about someone? None that she could think of.

Ace smiled "about four years, captured her myself when she was only about a year old" he said. Her mother had been no where when he caught her, she was thin and obviously starving. He always took a bottle of goats milk when he went wrangling, it helped the foals who had lost their mothers. He smiled "renting eh? Well I always need staff if my big racing stable dream is going to come true!" he laughed and then his smile was lost. He sighed as he thought of his parents, it was hard to talk about them but he did anyway "my parents died a few months back, it was in care or living with my auntie. She bought my ranch, it is very run down and horrible so it was quite cheap" he said and then ran one of his hands through his light hair. He noticed she asked a lot of questions, normally he would be really annoyed at this but he didn't mind at the moment. No one had ever really paid him much attention as well, then again who would want to pay him attention. He rarely had a smile on his face and he walked around sluggish.
Destiny was walking happily by his side, she had always been obediant to her master. Ace nodded "yeah, she is my only beauty. I hope to go out soon, capture a few other ones" he said and then smiled. Destiny would help him every step of the way, she would try and persuade the horse that living in the tame way wasn't that bad and she would certainly bring some horses back. She shook her head a little and Ace smiled, he loosened the bridle a little bit and then held it again. He didn't believe he forgot in the first place. He felt the concrete instead of sand under his feet and he smiled. They were finally on their way to his ranch, which wasn't really a nice place to see. Weeds had taken over the flowerbeds, the barn was almost falling apart and the pastures were full of weeds and flowers and some were poisonous to horses. He took out Destiny a lot now, she needed the excersise as she couldn't run around the pasture. Ace really needn't to start to work, he was going to build a proper stable block and not a barn. He did have loads of plans.
