Brushing her black sidebangs out of her bright blue orbs, Skye looked frustrated as the breeze blew her hair right back into her face. Shaking her head and ignoring her struggles, she looked over at her mare. The beautiful paint was chomping at the bit, looking annoyed because she couldn't figure out how to take her bridle off. Skye rolled her eyes and smiled, jogging over to Mudslyde as she rubbed her head against a nearby tree. "Hang in there, girl. I'll take it off for you as soon as we ride down the beach and I find a good spot to let you graze" she explained in a calm, soothing voice. The mare pricked her ears and bobbed her head up and down, as if she were nodding because she understood Skye's words. The young woman laughed quietly and stretched, then smoothed over her black shorts. Snorting impatiently, Mudslyde nudged Skye, nuzzling her shoulder and then headbutting her back. Skye jumped forward, then turned around and rolled her eyes as she spotted the grass stains on her pink and white striped tanktop. Oh well, it didn't really matter anyways. She'd probably go for a swim sooner or later and strip her outer clothes. She still had her bathing suit. Scratching her horse's withers, she kissed her nose. "I love you, Mudslyde" she said, before walking to the left side of her horse. Collecting the reins and mane in her hand she stepped back and then stepped forward quickly, pushing herself off the ground and swinging a leg over her horse's back. She looked triumphant as she sat, mounted bareback.
Mudslyde instantly pranced forward and bolted as she stepped on a water bottle, spooking. Skye gathered the reins and got her mare under control, turning her in tight circles until she stopped pawing at the ground. As her breathing returned to normal, she walked and then jogged along the beach, finally breaking into a lope. Skye kept her balance and looked up at the clear blue sky slowly, examining the warm atmosphere and shining sun. It was absolutely perfect, and the water was sparkling and crystal clear. She was glad that she was just here alone with her horse, it let her clear her mind. Her horse was the one living creature who helped her with her depression. Mudslyde had been abused when she was younger too, and Skye felt a deep connection with her after rescuing her and raising her for two years. She was a troublemaker, and her horse was just as stubborn as her. Without Mudslyde, Skye knew she wouldn't have made it this far. Nobody was there for her, and she didn't know anyone here so she couldn't fit in. That was how it had always been, she was a loner. She was independant, because she had to be. She had always been that way. Infact, Skye doubted that anyone in the world had the ability to care for her anymore. It was just one of the many things she had accepted. It was all she knew and all that made sense. And in return, she didn't currently care for anyone. Nobody had proven that she could trust them. She loved no one.
As Skye began to think about her past and her current state of depression, she fought back tears. She was so sick of crying, and she refused to let herself go anymore, even if she was just by herself. She looked around for any signs of anyone else and she became distracted as she thought she saw a shadow coming around the corner of the beach. That was unexpected, and she considered taking off on her horse. Mudslyde had other plans though, and sensing that Skye wasn't paying attention to what she was doing, the horse took off from underneath her and Skye held her breath as she fell and moaned as she hit the sand. That really hurt, and she knew she would have bruises. As Mudslyde went off to graze she looked at her owner guiltily and came back, just long enough for Skye to stand up sorely and take off her bridle. Slipping on the halter, she attatched a lung line to it and tied it to a sturdy tree so that her horse could wander, but not stray away. "Hello?" she called out curiously. For once, she thought she might just try to have a conversation with someone. She needed to socialize at least once in a while.

The wind blew against the young male. He was quite determined to try and sketch -something,- anything at all today. The young man, Axel, was aching to draw a really nice picture for his new friend, who seemed to love his pictures. Well, h was really good, so could you possibly blame him for wanting to sketch something -really- good? He then looked up at the sound of a horse, seeing a girl and her horse, he smiled when she called to him, and waved happily at her. Yes, he was quite odd, but still, he walked forward, more than determined to make a new friend today. He tilted his head, smiling at her as he said "Hello." His German accent, of course, was still as heavy as ever. He was just so excited to see a new person, he accidentally dropped his art supply bag, making his notebooks and pencil box, and everything else, scatter all over the round, then swore in German, kneeled down, and started picking up all his stuff and stuffing everything that was his, back into his bag.

Crossing her arms over her chest, she stood still for a moment, staying completely quiet as she gathered her long hair behind her head as if she were about to put it up, then released her grip. Her hair blew like a banner in the wind, whipping around wildly, much like her mare's mane and tail. She heard seagulls calling out as they flew overhead, and she laughed as Mudslyde nickered and looked up, pricked her auds, then cantered around the tree. Skye kicked off her flip flops and placed them on a rock, then strode towards the shadow as she called out a greeting. Her bare feet sunk into the moist sand, making her slim five foot, five inch frame seem shorter than usual. She smiled as he approached in a friendly manner, though inside she was rather cautious. She reminded herself not to show it though, because she didn't have any intentions of scaring him off. It would be such a boost for her daily motivation if she knew someone. She always had a hard time opening up, because the last time she had, her best friend had turned around and simply left without another word. This would be the first time in a long time she just might possibly end up caring for someone, but she wasn't naive enough to not know that she was going too fast. She didn't even know the man's name yet. Her bright blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight. She was good at pretending to be okay, but hopefully she wouldn't have to pretend for much longer. Skye's curiousity fueled as he greeted her, and she picked up on his accent right away. It was German, she had studied a lot of German history over her years in highschool. It was actually quite intriguing, she liked the sound of it. "It's so beautiful out here, perfect day for a swim" she stated, looking around, and then back at him. She saw him drop his bag and when art supplies spilled out, she instantly knelt down to help him pick them up before they were washed away with the tide. She wondered what kind of an artist he was. "Do you draw?" she asked suddenly, hoping she didn't sound nosey. Smiling at him again, she stood up and brushed off her legs and knees. "I've never seen you around before, but i'm pretty new to this area. I'm Skye, nice to meet you" she held out her hand.

Axel looked up at her as she helped him pick up his art supplies. "Umm, yes, I have been drawing since I vas quite young..." He said, smiling at her. "And, yes, it is very nice out today..." He smiled as he stood after having gathered all of his supplies, and took her hand in his, shaking it gently. Hmm, soft skin, gentle yet firm and somewhat strong grip, not quite strong enough to hurt, but deffinitely strong and firm enough you knew he would be either a great parent or a pretty good worker. "I am Axel..." he said, then continued "Axel Van Deriz. And I only recently moved here..." he said, smiling at her as, after a moment, he realized he was still holding her hand and let go kind of nervously. She was, kinda, pretty. Now he made eye contact with her, and you could see his bright amethyst eyes, beautiful jewel-like eyes just sitting there in the sockets. But he smiled at her in a friendly way.

Skye smiled as he said that he had been drawing since he was young as she gathered the last of the supplies and stuck a few watercolor pencils in his bag. She personally liked drawing too, but she didn't have amazing talent in that vicinity or anything. She failed at drawing people unless they were manga, but sometimes she'd attempt drawing horses or landscapes. She painted a sunset once, though she bet that he was probably a million times better than her. "That's really interesting. What kinds of things do you enjoy drawing?" she asked, genuinely curious. She nodded as he agreed that it was pretty outside. She was dying to go swimming, actually. But she had no problem with being patient. Besides, she was beginning to enjoy the company. "Planning on getting in the water today?" she asked, somewhat hopefully. She would be dissapointed if he just left. Smiling as he shook her hand in return, she hummed softly for a moment, but stopped when he began talking again. Axel... what a unique name. She liked it, it suited him well. As he was holding her hand she took the time to study him briefly. He was definately good looking, and his hair was nice. She noticed that the color of his eyes was striking as well. She had never seen anyone with amethyst eyes before, and for some reason she got the impression that they weren't contacts. They seemed to glimmer brightly. "I like your eyes" she announced, smiling sheepishly. When he let go of her hand she blushed slightly. Skye pulled her hair back again, but used the band around her wrist to tie it into a ponytail. Her sidebangs fell over one eye mysteriously.

"All kinds of zings..." Axel said, smiling, He then blinked and blushed when she said something about getting in the water. "Umm, maybe?" He said, he was rather uncomfortable with his body, despite the fact that he was fairly well built. Oh well, he'd have to get used to people looking at his body if he was going to get a lover anytime soon. He then smiled and said "Umm, zank you, zey are all natural... had one person ask if zey were contacts. I said No." He said, shrugging slightly. When her bangs fell over one eye, he couldn't help but stare at her, she was, well, really very pretty. "I, uh, like your eyes too..." he said, smiling shyly. He could be so adorable without even trying sometimes. "You want to, um, go in the water?" He asked, smiling somewhat nervously at her as he waited for an answer.

As Skye listened to Axel say that he drew all kinds of things, she rolled her eyes at herself mentally. That was a pretty stupid question on her behalf. "I'd love to see your drawings sometime. I bet you're really talented" she smiled, realizing how that must have sounded. She usually wasn't too much of a flirt, especially she she rarely ever tried to make acquaintances or meet anyone new, but right now she seemed to be putting on the charm, at least slightly. Or at least she thought she was, but he might interpret her words and tone differently. You never could be sure until the other person reacted. Skye placed her hands on her hips comfortably, shifting her weight to her back leg and glancing over quickly to make sure that Mudslyde was doing well. She was still grazing and she had found a shady spot, so Skye felt reassured and relaxed. She turned and focused her attention back on Axel, asking him if he was planning on going swimming. She noticed that he seemed a little uncertain, so she nodded understandingly. He had just met her afterall, and she was already asking him if he wanted to splash around in the ocean with her. Smooth. She could come off as a little eager or casual sometimes. Too casual. She smirked softly, but not in a mocking way. More sassy than anything. She commented on his eyes and smiled back at him when he smiled at her. "Well, amethyst is an unusual color for eyes. You're the only person i've ever even heard of who has them. They're definately unique. Very cool." She decided to ask another question, since she had decided that there was no mistaking his accent. "You're from Germany, right? What's it like there?" she hoped that didn't sound nosey. She giggled when he said that he liked her eyes too, and she blushed. She saw his shy smile, and she found it really cute. "Thanks, but I still think you've got me beat" she grinned. She then laughed softly when he asked if she wanted to get in the water and she nodded enthusiastically. "Sure" she smiled, noticing he looked a little nervous. "Don't worry, I won't bite" she teased playfully. Skye peeled herself away as she walked over to where her shoes were and she slid off her shorts and tugged off her tanktop, placing them on the rock too, walking back in her striped bikini. The colors were purple, white, orange, and black. Pulling the ponytail holder back out of her hair, she shook it out so it fell back past her shoulders. She walked backwards into the water until it was up to her waist. She then turned around and dived under, flipping over and backstroking. "You coming?" she asked.

Axel smiled as he watched her, turning his head slightly when she started taking off her clothes, then, after a long moment, he looked back at her, realizing she still had -some- clothes on. He then took off the jacket, and his button up shirt and pants, socks and shoes, leaving his boxers and an undershirt. Desipite being so skinny, he was actually fairly well built. He, slowly and nervously, stepped into the water, yelping and jumping back when he found that the water was a bit cold. Then, after a moment of pacing back and forth a few feet along the shoreline, he tried once more, this time ready for the shock of freezing water. After a moment, he dove under the surface, swimming around underwater for a moment before coming up behind her and, not being flirty or moving too fast in his opinion, wrapped his arms around her waist, and rested his chin on her shoulder.

Skye smiled at Axel brightly as she strode over to the rock, then curiously raised an eyebrow as she noticed him turn his head, almost unnoticably. Maybe that was why he had been nervous before, he might have thought she was going to go skinny-dipping. She smirked to herself, she had just met him afterall. She wasn't that bold. On the other hand, maybe he was just nervous because a complete stranger had asked him to go swimming. That seemed reasonable too. Either way, it looked like he was planning on wading into the ocean too. As she walked back he was taking off his outer clothes, so she took the opportunity to jog over to Mudslyde, who whinnied. "Be good and don't get into any trouble." She smiled at the mare and then walked past Axel, seeing he was in his undershirt and boxers. He was really thin, but she could tell he had muscles. She jumped into the water without hesitation, and as she swam out a few more yards she watched him test the water and then yelp. It was rather cold, but she was used to it. She went swimming often. Smiling as he paced the shore for a few moments and then dove under, she looked around, wondering where he had gone. She felt arms snake around her waist and then slight pressure on shoulder and she couldn't help but blush. She hadn't been expecting that gesture, but when she thought about it, she decided she liked the feeling. She wondered if it had just been an impulse reaction, or if he was messing around and teasing her, or if maybe he liked her. Probably not. She kept blushing anyways, then playfully held her breath and dropped down into the water, taking him with her. As she resurfaced she had swam a pretty good ways away, but the sparkle in her eyes told him that she was just kidding around. She swam back slowly. "So tell me more about yourself" she smiled.

"Vell..." He said, trying bto think of something interesting, and true, about him that might not scare her away from him. "I vas born in Germany, but raised for Ze last eleven year here in America..." He said, smiling at her. "Oh, and I like to race horses." He said, swimming around her in a circle for a moment, then coming back around to her front. "I like Zroughbreds especially, more built for racing Zan ozer horses." Skye was shocked at how fast she had started enjoying Axel's company. It was completely unlike her to actually hold a conversation with someone, much less do an activity such as swimming. But she didn't feel distant or aggravated like she usually would under these circumstances. There was just something about him that was... different. In a good way, naturally. She tilted her head to the side to show that she was attentive as he began talking to her. So she was right about Germany, that was for sure so far. She wondered why he moved. Eleven years here... interesting. She beamed up at him. She was trying to piece the puzzle together, though she doubted she could without further information. She wondered why she was trying to figure him out. Everyone had their own story, including her. Racing horses was fun, though she had never been able to really race Mudslyde, since she was a paint. She looked behind her as he circled around her, following his gaze. "Thoroughbreds are amazing, and racing sounds like a lot of fun. It looks like it, too. I wouldn't really know though, since i've never owned a racing horse. Mudslyde can jump well, though. When she's behaving, that is" Skye laughed softly. It sounded like he had tons of experience, being in junior leagues in Germany. He was most likely a better rider too, since she had only started riding after she had worked with Mudslyde. She had had her for two years, but a lot of that time was spent earning her trust and rehabilitation to get her healthy again. She smiled as he explained how he felt when he was racing. It sounded sensational. She laughed quietly again when he said that his parents asked if he would rather get married or race. "Sounds like you're really passionate about what you do. That's fantastic. And actually, I don't think you're strange at all. And even if you were, it would only make you more interesting. Trust me, i'm the strange one. I'm like a trainwreck sometimes" she beamed. She wasn't really sure if she should say anything about herself. She was still cautious somewhere inside, but she decided that if he happened to ask about her past, then she would tell him. except, she'd only mention certain parts. Nobody needed to know the whole truth.
