;; Bird songs flitted over the silent forest, nature's original alarm clocks. Following them came the kinds that scuttle through the underbrush, or sliding easily over the leaves, scaled, and skeletoned bodies were seen everywhere, for nature had awoken. A raccoon scurried up the side of a tree, and a low, complaining hoot of an owl disrupted the songs for a moment. Ruby, emerald, and citrine leaves rustled in the early morning breeze, some abandoning their friends to drift softly to the earth, painting the ground. A soft breeze whisked through the green boughs, hushing the birdsong and everything it touched, except for the leaves. They danced merrily, whipping around and crashing against eachother, but the birdsong had stopped. No scent of predators was on the air, although the scent of a two-legged creature and a fellow, a horse, came to them. That was nothing new, they passed by here all the time, and then, everything erupted back into song, animal calls and voices warbling in the joyous air.
;; A chorus of hooves added itself to the forest harmony, making a dull thumping sound on the earth as the horse and rider passed through the forest. The equine moved at a slow trot, taking a jaunting stroll, and causing no trouble what-so-ever. The rider's outfit did not blend in with the surroundings, but neither did the bright mahogany bay mare. The pair didn't fit in, but they were not conspicuous. The dark blue shirt and even darker jeans fit in nicely, and the mare wasn't worried about attracting attention, oh no, Breaking Dawn was having a grand time. Her cranium was held high, jet black locks settling easily on one side of her boa, and banner flicking. There was nothing in this pair to disturb the forest in the least, and the only thing they left behind them were a set of hoof-prints, easily washed away by the slightest amount of rainfall.
;; At the small tap of the rider's heels, the equine switched quickly into a canter, the thumping becoming slightly more of a pounding, but the forests' creatures didn't seem to mind, as they kind singing, and going about their daily business. The rider's honey-blonde hair swung out behind her, following the same rhythm as the mare's black banner. The two seemed to be in perfect sync, each movement a small bit of choreography, every sound the accompanying music. Ana's thoughts rumbled through her mind, and she found herself thinking to the beat of Dawn's pounding hooves. "Dawn's not the only horse that needs to be ridden... Robbie and Impulse, Pulse is going to be so full of energy... that'll be interesting," she mused. Breaking Dawn continued at a steady pace, muscles bunching and then releasing in a continuous rhythm.
;; A roll of thunder interrupted the songs, and everything seemed hushed for a moment, and an odd feeling crept towards Ana. A slight tug on the reins and the mare slowed down to a trot, and then back to a walk... and then, there was silence. No more were the forest's sounds, not a bird chirped, not a leaf shuffled. Illiana clicked her tongue, and Breaking Dawn started walking forward, nostrils flaring as she scented the moisture in the air. She hadn't specifically wanted to go out today, though the temptation had overwhelmed her, and out the pair went, although storm clouds were brewing on the horizon. "This is what you get for listening to the weatherman," Ana whispered, and almost directly after her soft voice reached Dawn's ears, another boom of thunder ruffled the forest, and a tinkling of rain sounded on the leaves. It had begun to rain, although the thin streams barely managed to pierce thier way through the foliage. Dawn's head bounced up and down, and a tip of her hoof indented the earth.
;; At the next roll of thunder, Ana signaled for the mare to rock back into the steady trot, but it was more jumbled than collected, as if Dawn wasn't quite paying attention. The air seemed to crispen, the smell of new rain washing over the forest, yet the pace of the sounds didn't increase, just stayed as they were, calming and soothing, almost as if promising the storm was nothing but a sprinkle of rain, and one fine to be out and riding in. Ana released a breath she didn't know she had been holding, and felt the calm that penetrated the wet air, and so did Dawn, her trot becoming normal again, even if the rumbles of thunder still crackled across the sky overhead. No lightning flashed in the sky, and all felt safe.
;; ALL DONE! :] Muse is amazing.
