;; The water had turned bitterly cold as autumn fastly approached, but the few people that lived their lives as surfers just couldn't stay away. This was the case of a person that had just recently moved out here, wanting to get out of the city and give the dust, equines, and cowboy hats a shot. Of course everything was different than she had expected, but as the twinkling lights across the blue of the water came to the corner of her eye, she felt completely at home. It glittered enticingly, and Kiara pulled the car over to the side of the road for a moment, grinning as waves rolled, creating tunnels, and folding in on itself, perfect for surfing.
;; The startling silver corvette pulled back onto the road, and headed back towards the beach. The front window on the passenger side rolled down, Kiara practically drinking in the salty sea air. Oh, how she missed this. A dreamy smile drifted over her face, and the car roared towards the beach, although Kiara was careful to stay under the ticketing speed. The car parked in the lot and Kiara stepped out, lanky figure perfectly accented with a blue-grey surf-top, and a matching bikini bottom. The wind whipped Kiara's still-down hair around before she managed to put it into a half-ponytail with a black hairtie. "Wonderful," she said, closing her eyes and enjoying the air for a moment.
;; She grabbed her bag and her silver surfboard and headed down to the beach, marvelling at how fine the sand was, and how empty the whole place seemed to be. Kiara chose a sunny spot and rolled out her purple and red towel, putting her board down on the sand next to it. After smearing a few glops of sunscreen onto her face and rubbing it in so it felt like none was there, Kiara picked up her red and silver surfboard, and started walking to the water-line. As her toes hit the water, a slight chill crept through her, but she ignored it, only wanting to get in the water and ride a wave or two.
;; Kiara slid the board into the water and hopped on, paddling out way past the break-point. This was going to be interesting, she had never surfed here before, and the waves acted differently then they did where she grew up. "Might as well give it a shot!" Kiara exclaimed. She saw the next wave brewingon the horizon, and when it came within range to see actually how tall it was without any perspective changes. As it rolled underneath her board, she stood up, letting out a short shout of thrill, loving being back on the water, and back surfing!! She took her stance and continued to ride the wave back to shore, debating whether or not she would sit out on the towel and tan, or go back out and hit the waves.

Gaspard's hazel eyes gazed out the windshield as he drove along the pathway to the beach, the tires of his brightly colored red cobra mustang convertible kicking up a trail of gravel and sand behind it. Shifting his position so that he had his right hand on the steering wheel and his left arm hanging casually over the car door, he allowed his concentration to flicker briefly as he took the time to stare out at the ocean unfolding before him. Large waves crashed down on the shore, leaving behind various assortments of shells and stones. Seagulls flocked overhead, letting their cries be heard. Parking and cutting the ignition, Gaspard took his key and stuck it in a safe spot in the car, slamming the door shut and locking it. He walked forwards, carefully observing the landscape. The water was beautiful and blue, sparkling as it it had never been touched. He noticed a few footprints in the sand and looked up to stare into the distance.
Noticing someone pretty far away, he began jogging to greet them. They seemed to be surfing, and as he got closer and heard her enthusiastic yells he smiled. She seemed to be having a great time, even if the water was rather cold. It was Autumn, afterall. Stretching, Gaspard ran a hand through his short brown hair. Everything here in America was so much different than that in Great Britain. It didn't seem terribly busy and overcrowded here in Nevada, and there wasn't a royal family. He had actually been quite close to the King and Queen back in England. Far closer than one might assume. Sighing, he reminded himself that it had been his decision to move out here instead of staying in his homeland. He would adjust to this country and it's culture sooner or later. Might as well make some friends meanwhile. His parents weren't glad that he left, so he wasn't sure he had anyone to support him if he went back anyways.
Driving cars was a change, for instance. He was used to driving on the right side of the car, but here the steering wheel was located on the left. Gaspard chuckled to himself. Learning and studying about the United States and it's people was a lot different than actually being here and experiencing it. That was how it was in most cases, though. You could never really know what something was like until you saw for yourself. As he finally came up to where the girl was surfing he saw how much fun she was having and he looked amused. She was very pretty, though he would keep that thought to himself. "Hello" he called out, his British accent recognizable. "You are quite good at surfing, aren't you?" he asked, walking up to her as she rode back to shore on a wave. Holding out his hand, he smiled at her politely. "I'm Gaspard Ulliel, and you are?" he wondered. He hoped she didn't find it alarming or strange that he had suddenly approached her, but that was how things worked where he was from. He was bold, but in a proper way. A mysterious glint sparkled in his eyes.

;; Kiara turned on her heel, making a slight spray of wet sand glisten in the air, when she heard the crunching and squishing of sand behind her. She whirled around, quite surprised to see someone, not in a bathing suit, down at the beach. What others might just shrug their shoulders and go on their way about at the beach, Kiara wanted to know why, so she stayed where she was, head tilted to the side questioningly. Was he just here for the gorgeous view and the shimmering waters? He was dressed as she had seen no one dressed before, even the coat seemed slightly out of place, though perhaps it looked like something on the tv... Kiara pondered the possibilities, but just sort of stood there for the few seconds it took for the man to get within easy hearing distance.
;; Kiara let a small sigh slip between her lips, wondering how long it would take before he would go away and she could surf again. It was one heck of a long drive to get out here from that hotel, and even though there was still some good hours left, Kiara wanted to use it all up, surfing. However, it couldn't possible hurt to stand around and chat, so she stayed there for the few seconds, smiling. As he approached the distance in which it would be easy for Kiara to hear him, he said hello. "Hello yourself," she replied happily. He was quite cute up-close, and his voice was thick with an accent. "Cool accent, where's it from?" she asked curiously, knowing if she didn't ask she'd be musing over it for the rest of the week.
;; She had literally picked herself out of the water not a minute ago, and he held out his hand? "Uhm... I'd love to shake it, but I'm soaking wet," Kiara said, a slight rose-colored blush creeping into her cheeks, although it could've been mistaken for the cold. When he mentioned her surfing, the blush deepened slightly, and Kiara felt herself wondering why she was blushing. It was normally quite easy for her to talk to guys, but it was a pretty random circumstance. "Oh, thank you," she replied, wondering how to answer the comment that sounded like a question. "I'm Kiara Allen. Nice to meet you." she nodded, still not shaking his hand. Hopefully he wouldn't be offended, even though she already explained herself, who knows anymore, people got ticked off at the slightest things.

As Gaspard quietly approached the girl, he assumed that he must have heard her, because she instantly spun around to look at him. Watching her curiously as she stopped walking and then tilted her head to the side slightly, he saw the look on her face. She seemed to be pondering something, most likely a question about him. She did seem a little confused. Wondering if he was acting strangely or doing something that made him stand out, he looked down at himself. He was still wearing a suit. Rolling his eyes at himself, he wished that he had remembered to change. He stuck out, obviously. He was just so accustomed to dressing up nicely on a daily basis in England that he had forgotten how to be casual anymore. He had a lot to learn again. He had originally come to take a stroll, but he began to believe that he might change his plans when he started talking to the young woman.
Smiling at her happy reply to his greeting, he commented on his wardrobe. "I know I look out of place. I've got a lot of adjusting to do. I just moved here" he laughed sheepishly. He hoped that he wasn't interrupting her activities or getting in the way. "I hope I'm not disrupting your schedule" he said, concerned. Relaxing again as she said that he had a cool accent he raised an eyebrow, laughing softly. "Really? Thank you. I like your accent too. Actually, I'm not really aware that I have one. I guess I'm just used to hearing everyone talk like me. Oh, and I'm from Great Britain" he added quickly, beaming. Gaspard studied her eyes, they were a beautiful blue shade. He was lucky he had found someone to talk to here. Hopefully if things turned out right, he would have a new friend by the end of their conversation.
Holding out his hand to shake her's, he chuckled when she reminded him that she had just gotten out of the water. He brought his hand back behind his head and clamped it around his neck, eventually shifting positions and dropping it back by his side. "Right, I forgot" he smiled, seeing her cheeks turning a little pink. He wasn't sure if it was from the cold or if she was blushing, so he didn't comment. She was probably just chilly, he hadn't thought he'd said anything to make her blush. He complimented her surfing abilities and he saw her cheeks turn a little brighter. "You're quite welcome" he said cheerfully. Hearing her name, he grinned. "Kiara. That's really pretty. I like it a lot" he ran his hand through his hair again. "So do you come here often? It seems like a magnificent beach."
