Marcus Laney Marc grunted as he threw the saddle over the stallion's back, and he watched it slid off the other side. A groan flew from his parted lips, and he hit the palm of his hand against his forehead. His gaze switched over to his sister, glaring at her, while she laughed. Kadillac started whinnying, and it sounded suspiciously like laughter too, then again, Marcus was probably just being over dramatic again, or rather, paranoid. He vaguely heard the sound of his sister telling him how to tack his horse up correctly. He looked back at his bay stallion. With a sigh, he walked to the stallion's other side, picked the saddle up. After several more attempts, he was finally able to get the saddle on, girth tightened, and even the bridle on without much problem. Of course, his sister Kota, being the wonderful sister she was, laughed at him the entire time, though she did offer ways for him to do it...
Kadillac turned his head and stretched out his powerful neck, clearly going for Marc's pockets. "Sorry Kadillac, no treats for you right now. Maybe later tonight." The stallion started bobbing his head up and down, a clear sign that he didn't want to wait and he wanted a treat right then and there. Marc shook his head but smiled fondly at the horse. He raised and hand and patted the stallion's sleek neck in wonder, the beautiful horse in front of him was his. Entirely his own. A delighted smile lit up Marc's face, which earned him a sarcastic comment from Kota standing a this right.
The teen boy, hurriedly mounted the horse, with help from a mounting block, and several attempts at doing so. Triumphant, he picked up the reins of his horse, and started towards the trail rides. His sister had wanted to come, but at the last minute decided she couldn't. Besides, she didn't have a horse yet, and they didn't really know anyone they could borrow from at the current time. They were still relatively new, though they had gotten a job from Illiana Thorneblade, or at least he thought that was the name of the owner of the ranch.
When he finally reached the desired location, he grinned, looking for other riders. He saw a few more official people, who had started the trail ride campout, but not many other people were there yet. Which was fine, he was content to just wait. Besides, it was currently taking a lot of his concentration to not fall out of the large western saddle that was on his horse.

[glow=hotpink,4,300]Riley Lynn Camden[/glow] Riley smiled as she finished securing the trailer door shut, walking around the side of the metal structure to get to the front of her red chevy pickup. She ran her fingers through her curly black hair and looked back, staring up at the window in the trailer. Her mare nickered calmly and tossed her dial, as if reassuring her owner that she would be fine and encouraging her to go ahead and start driving at the same time. Riley grinned at Zafirah fondly and rubbed her muzzle quickly, swinging open the door to her truck and climbing into the driver's seat. She started the automobile and slowly turned around on the gravel so that she wouldn't disturb her horse. Taking one last look at Zafirah through the rearview mirror, she adjusted it and pulled out onto the road carefully.
As Riley drove she hummed softly to the country music now blaring out of the speakers of her truck since she turned the radio on. Smiling as she reached her destination, she pulled into a large open area and cut the ignition, jumping out of the seat and slamming the door behind her. Riley was definately excited about the midnight trail ride, especially since she would get to make new friends, but most of all, to see Marcus again. She had missed him since their last meeting at the park. And camping out in the woods would make the experience even more fun. She was debating whether or not she would take advantage of the situation and cuddle up to him around the campfire, but that could be decided upon later. She had her mysterious ways of getting what she wished for. Though she wasn't really sure if they could work when she really liked someone.
Riley paced around to the back of the trailer and opened a side compartment, taking out a bridle. She had decided to ride bareback since she trusted her mare and had been around her for six years. This would be a blast. She had already taken her other supplies and tack to the campsite anyways earlier that day. Grabbing her bag with her emergency medical supplies and horse grooming tools, she pushed her hair out of her eyes and walked around to the back of the trailer. Opening the door, she whispered to her mare, talking to her sweetly. Zafirah pricked her auds, the gorgeous gypsy vanner mare decending the ramp easily. Riley beamed and stroked her white coat and the black markings on the sides of her face. Putting the bridle over her shoulder, she pulled out a halter and put it on her docile mare, then clipped a lead shank to it. She knew good and well that Firah wouldn't wander off, but it was better to be safe than sorry. Especially because she could be a little too bold and friendly around other horses.
Leading Zafirah, the mare whinnied and nuzzled Riley's shoulder, walking beside her as the lead rope hung loosely from her rider's hand. She followed Riley everywhere, she completely trusted her ever since she had helped her recover when she was a sick foal abandoned by her mother. They had grown up together. Looking around, Riley was surprised but thrilled when she spotted Marcus, and she grinned as she saw that he looked a little unstable in the saddle. "Hey, hot-shot" she smirked playfully, her big brown eyes bright. Her horse was shorter than his, and so was she. Her small frame looked up at him cheerfully.

Marcus Laney Every one riding around him made it look so easy. When one teen guy did a fancy move on his mount, a move that Marc did not know the name of, Marc's eyes all but popped out of his head. His mouth was open in wonder, before he shook himself, regaining a semblance of self control. He patted the sleek neck of his orange hued bay stallion. "Maybe one day Kadillac, I'll be able to be half as good as him." Just as he finished speaking, the stallion gave a snort, that sounded entirely disbelieving. "Hey!" He protested, "I said maybe..." Yeah, he was talking to his horse. But Marc was just like that, he didn't really worry if people thought he was crazy, or weird, he just was who he was, not becoming something else just to satisfy the people around him. That and being over dramatic could make him do some rather strange things, without regard to his 'pride'.
The blonde teen watched some announcers start, well, announcing the beginning of the trail ride campout. Marc would've been jumping in excitement, but he was fairly sure the result of that would find him in a heap next to his horse, not exactly a good thing in his book. He took a careful grip on the reins, and sighed audibly, his eyes scanning the riders for someone he might know. Not that he knew many people, he hadn't been in this town for long. He mentally tried to count the people he knew, and surprise surprise, he was able to do that with only one hand. He knew two people. Riley, who was quickly becoming his best friend, and Rowan, a girl he had met outside the library, and taken a liking to because of her wit. He'd always been firm in his belief that a girl was always more fun if she knew how to banter back and forth.
So far though, with his fabulous luck, he had yet to spot either of them. And he didn't really know if they were planning on coming. A look of disappointment flashed in his eyes, but disappeared quickly. Either way, he could hang out with people. Besides, this was a prime opportunity to meet more of the people that were living in this town. He had to get to know people, other wise he would never find his place here. As he started slipping from the saddle he had a thought, maybe he didn't have a place here. He couldn't ride very well, why would people here really accept him? He shook off the gloomy thought, and his usual smile tugged at his lips. He could never stay serious to save his life. Kadillac side stepped, and the simple movement allowed Marc to right himself in the saddle. He gave a sigh of relief, patting the stallion's neck again. "Thanks boy, I definitely owe you." His horse answered with a soft nicker.
He turned briefly at the sound of a very familiar voice, and grinned at the sight of his friend, Riley. "You know it. I'm going to get sponsored any day now!" He replied with fake enthusiasm before grinning at her jokingly. With some effort on his part, he got his horse to turn around towards her. With one look at her mount, he smirked mischievously. "Decided you didn't want your own horse to tower over you to much?" He teased, in clear reference to not only her height but also her mare's.
