This is just a draft, I have yet to add all my details.
You couldn't miss her. Sitting there in the moonlight. She was drawing, her favourite past time, and sat alone on the grass. The beauty was erased as a maid came out of the large house and wrapped a rather large blanket around her shoulders
"Miss Poneira, you must come inside at once or you will catch a death of cold!" came her high, shrieking voice.
"Leave me be, for one day you will hear about me. Not Miss, but Captain"
"You and your silly dreams, you will never own a ship Miss Poneira. Do not even speak about being a pirate to your father."
Finally, Marilater gave up and went inside with the maid. She walked up the stairs and stopped at what you might call a study. However, Marilater had used it as her own and only she had the key to enter it so unlocking and opening the heavy door she walked inside. Picking up a sword that she had stolen from her fathers large collection, he had so many copies of this one sword you would never know it was gone, she started to slash the air. Every move was complex as if someone was really fighting against her, unfortuently she only had the techniques not the strength to fight. The excellant swordplay was interupted by the maid calling dinner, she sighed and put the sword down before walking out and locking the door. Walking downstairs she sat and smiled at her father, mother and the brat of her little sister who had to be little miss perfect.
"Marilater, you come down at last. What were you doing up in your study which made you such heavy footed?" asked her mother as she cut a crisp, golden potato.
"Was I heavy footed? I must work on that. I was... dancing mother, practicing for the next ball"
"A ball Maril? My, you must work on being light footed then!" came the booming voice of her father.
"Indeed, a lady should dance with her feet hardly touching the floor" said Mrs Poneira
"Mother, Father. I was thinking of going down to London for a week to shop, may I have permission to go?" Maril said as she put her knife and fork down, she had finished the Sunday roast.
"Of course Marilater, you can start your journey tonight. The boy can get the horses ready so get your things together my dear!" said her father as her mother nodded.
Little did they know that she wouldn't go shopping at all, so she walked upstairs and into the study. She collected everything, including the sharp cutless and then into her own bedroom to get clothes. After packing everything she managed to get into the carriage a hour later to leave. They set off at a trot down the country lanes and Marilater sat back and smiled, she was finally free. Nothing could stop her now, she then closed her eyes. Finally, after seventeen years her journey was going to begin. One had ended, but the one that would last her life had began.
Finally Marilater opened her sapphire blue eyes. The carriage pulled up and she stepped out and told them to enjoy themselves, she put 5 pounds in his hand and he smiled and thanked her before walking over to a inn. Walking, she made her way to the docks with a suitcase in one hand and a bag in the other.
"I want to buy a ship" she said to a man at the docks.
"A lass? Wanting a ship? Alright then missy, we have a rowboat going for 4 shillings"
"I will take it" she hissed and gave him the money before stepping into it and putting the suitcase in before grabbing the oars and starting to row. It wasn't her idea of piracy but this ship will do, she then put the oars in the boat and took out her diary, a pot of ink and a quill.
14th December, 1654
It has been a long day, I have finally got a ship and on my way to being a pirate. Bye father, mother and that little brat as I will be on a huge ship before you know it. I shall head to france across tbe English Channel. It won't take long to get there hopefully, but in a rowboat its hard to tell but lets hope for calm winds but its winter so I may die before I even get there. Love, Marilater Poneira.
After shutting the diary she started to travel east on the currently calm sea. She then saw a boat, and they saw her. It was a small sailing boat but bigger than this thing. The crew helped her on board and she thanked them before opening her suitcase and getting out the cutlass. She drew the sword and pointed it at them.
"Leave this boat, travel on mine and do not speak a word of this as I will know" she said and they nodded, slowly getting into the rowboat.
Adjusting the sails, she set off to France to hopefully find a captain to take her on. England was far to hard to find a ship with, if someone saw her then her parents would find out and find that ship. As land finally slipped out of veiw she felt the boat start to rock. A storm was coming, Marilater would have to act fast if she were to get through it. As the rain started to pound down on the boat and soak her she started to try and adjust the sails and thankfully she caught the right wind and started to go to France at a furious rate of knots. She would live to see another day.
It wasn't easy, Marilater had to adjust the sails a lot but she was managing. As the rain pounded the deck she started to dance around and sing.
If I were a pirate
I'd sail the seven seas
Taking loot and plunder
Whenever I please
In the heat of battle
I would draw my sword
And before you could do the same
You would be cut in two!
She then skidded across the deck laughing and caught the mast before she fell of the deck. It was so fun, to run about and truly be a pirate. Yes, now she was a pirate so she opened up her small suitcase and took out the jolly roger before flying it and then she felt like a true pirate. The wind ruffled her very neat hair so she took out all the pins and let it cascade down. As the rain finally stopped pounding the decks she adjusted the sails one last time and then turned to see land coming out of the horizon. France. She then screamed in joy and started to dance again, singing every shanty she knew and then took hold of the mast with one hand and looked toward the land that was getting closer. She could see the harbour and ships that were there, some were so amazing she was shocked and looked at her small sailing boat. Oh well, she would buy a great ship with guns, a Galleon. She laughed and then finally drew up on the harbour and jumped out, suitcase in one hand and a coil of rope in the other. "Need any help?" came a voice and she looked up to see the most amazing man standing there "um, sure" she answered and he started to tie up the ship. When he done a knot and the boat bobbed in the water she thanked him and started to walk across the town.
