Darius walked into the skating area, skates slung over his right shoulder, and sat down on a bench. He wasn't exactly sure why he had come here today. Boredum he figured. He wasn't the most graceful skater, or most graceful person for that matter. His lean build and tall height threw him out of focus. But he enjoyed it none the less, always going out with his friends skating at random times. But his friends had grew up and become mature.. well, most of them had. And he'd been left in the dust. Only about a month ago had he moved here, to this small town that was filled with horses. Literally filled. But he didn't mind. Maybe he'd buy one of his own at some time. His thoughts drifted around lazily like that, going from one and then leading into the next. But when he got on the ice, he'd be done with those thoughts, and scoping out for someone to talk to. He could easily admit that he was a flirt, a jerk sometimes, but kind of soft.
To his delight, he didn't have to wait for long. When he looked up after tying his skate, he saw a pretty girl with short and long dirty blond hair. She was talking to someone who looked like her. Almost identical. He was taller though, more serious looking than the carefree girl he was skating beside. He could see her chatting along happily while the boy listened to her. Only every now and then did he have to steady her, to keep her from falling. They both had.. silver? eyes and tan skin. The boys skating was graceful and eligent, opposite of his female companions careless skating.
Getting off the bench, he walked over to the skate rink. Quickly, he took off the skate gaurds and tossed them back at the bench he had just been sitting on. He stepped onto the ice, inhaling deeply. Okay, don't fall. That would be embaressing. He skated a few laps around the rink, passing the two every now and then. She had a soft tinkly laughter, while the boy appeared to have none. But that didnn't matter at the moment, because he was more intent on catching her eye than hearing the boys laughter. There was no way he could be her boyfriend, they had to be related, their looks were just too similar.
Being his usual self, Darius miss placed one skate infront of the other and fell. Of course. He found himself falling on the girl and boy, mostly just the girl. "Look o-!" Was all he could manage before he ran into her. A mere milisecond before they hit the ground, he flipped in the air, so that she was on top of him. If it were the other way around, he'd have crushed her! She was so tiny and fragile looking.. At least this way she wouldn't get hurt, he hoped. "I'm so sorry miss," He said with a smile. Her brother?.. friend?.. The guy was just staring at him like he wanted to hurt him. Jeeze, calm down.. He thought in annoyance.

occ; Side note at the top!! Lol, when you think of Esmés speaking, think super thick french accent Esmé looked up at Chad, laughing at his remark. For such a serious guy, he could be pretty funny. He hadn't changed in the slightest since they had been kids. It was so weird when everyone found out they were twins. Sure, they looked alike, they were identical twins, they were both kind of short for most people, but she was so happy and outgoing whilst he was quite and secretive. Well, almost secretive, he'd never kept a secret from her, and they were over twenty! She linked arms with her brother and he asked a random question. "Esmé, have you found a place to live yet?" She looked up at her brother, sighed, then looked at the ice that was speeding away below them. She could have lied, but he'd know she was. She looked around the ice rink and spotted a very handsome man just getting on the ice. She smiled at him, though she didn't think he saw. She adjusted the silver and purple tuke on her head and stumbled. Chad grabbed onto her arm and she managed to stay up right. She fixed her tuke again, her hands clumsy with the mittens she had on. Even though she was twenty-one, she still loved the kiddish stuff like tukes and mits and when there was a birthday, you could count on her to get the ridiculous pointy hats. She beamed at him. "Thanks," But her head dropped again at his patient expression. "Fine, no. I haven't found a place to stay. I've been, well.. Oh there's no use in lying to you! I've actually been living in my truck! Okay? Happy now? Are you happy?" But her tone was anything but angry. She'd made him smile, so she started laughing. "And what about you? You're living in a hotel, right?" Chad shrugged his shoulders and looked at her with a meaningful expression. "You need a job!" She scoffed at his exclamation. "And you need a hair-cut!" She jabbed back, reaching one arm up and tugging on a strand of his shaggy hair. He gave a half smile, showing her his amusement. "Look o-!" Esmé looked over just in time to see that guy from earlier run into her. She found herself flipping in the air and landed on top of the stranger. "I'm so sorry miss" He apologized. She smiled at him. "No, it's fine, I'm fine. Are you okay? Are you hurt? I'm sorry, I should have moved faste-" She was cut off from her rambling when Chad grabbed her arm and lifted her off of the dark haired stranger. "You okay?" He asked her in a quiet voice. "Yeah," She said, smiling up at him. "I'm totally fine." He could be so overprotective of her at times. She reached out her hand to Dark-Hair and tried pulling him up. To her surprise, she was able to. Either that, or he had pushed him self up without her seeing. "I'm Esmé! Esmé Godelieve. This is my brother Chad," She indicated to her brother who gave Dark-Hair a curt nod. "I'm so sorry for not seeing you coming! I hope I didn't hurt you when we fell!" She realized she was rambling and stopped blushing at the men. Chad stared daggers at Dark-Hair. "Come on you two!" She exclaimed. She pulled her hand away from Dark-Hairs and linked arms with both men. It was a little difficult with Dark-Hair, because he was so tall, but with Chad it was normal. She skated off, leading them to the ice exit thingy (^^U) and sat them at the table. It was a small round little table, perfect for three. "Let me buy you guys drinks! What do you guys want?" She asked them politely. Chad sighed. His sister could be so straightforward but happy at the same time. He nodded at her, knowing she'd know to get him a coffee. Black.

"No, it's fine, I'm fine. Are you okay? Are you hurt? I'm sorry, I should have moved faste-"
Darius just shook his head. She seemed to liked to talk a lot. Her friend pulled her off of him and asked if she was really fine. And it appeared she was. "I'm fine as well." He reassured her questions. The girl reached her hand out to him and he took it. Pushing hisself up with his other elbow, he let her 'help' him up. "I'm Esmé! Esmé Godelieve. This is my brother Chad," Darius nodded at Chad the looked back at Esmé. "It's an extreme pleasure to meet you, Esmé. My name is Darius." He smiled at the small girl. "I'm so sorry for not seeing you coming! I hope I didn't hurt you when we fell!" He surpressed a laugh at her continous rambling. "I assure you, I'm fine. It was really my fault, I'm far too clumsy."
The feeling of be watched made Darius look at Chad, who was staring angrily at him. The phrase 'If looks could kill..' ran through his mind. But instead he smiled at Chad without a care. "Come on you two!" She pulled her mitted hand away from Darius', who didn't realise he was still holding it, and linked arms with him and Chad. The skated to the end of the ice rink and went to a small table. "Let me buy you guys drinks! What do you guys want?" He looked at her curiously, but shrugged mentally. Chad nodded at her like it was a signal on what to get him. Darius didn't even think for a moment before saying, "Coffee with cream, please." He watched as she walked off to the counter to get them some drinks. Leaning back in his chair, Darius looked at Chad. "So, have you two lived here long?" He asked, figuring he wouldn't get an answer from the closed mouthed boy, who appeared to only be a few years younger than himself. He didn't expect an answer, he just didn't like awkward silences. He waited patiently for Esmé to return.

Esmé bounded up to the counter, a smile on her face. She liked this person, this Darius, though it was abvious Chad didn't. Then again, he doesn't like many people, she thought. "Hi there!" She said politely to the person behind the counter. It was a man a few years younger than her, and a few inches taller. She listed off what she wante, had it all put on a tray. Carrying the drinks and such back to the table proved to be difficult. Wobbling on her skates, she stumbled a few times until she finally reached the table. Even from at the counter, she'd heard Darius' question, and the silence that came from Chad. Grabbing on of the steaming cups, she handed it to Chad. "Black coffee for you," She gave one to Darius. "Coffee with milk for you," Then, seating herself, he took the last cup, stuck a straw and sucked out some of it. "And chocolate milk for me!" Chad, sighing at his sisters childish ways, sipped his coffee silently, nodding a thanks to her. She beamed at him then looked at Darius. Well, no. We aren't from around here. Not at all." She shook her head for extra emphasis. "We came here from France. Oh, it was so beautiful there. Not like here mind you. Here theres so many trees ad fields and oh it's so nice here! Back in France there was the Itfull Tower, french bread. French bread is really difficile à l'extérieur, mais l'intérieur est tellement softand duveteux! Il est à mourir! Et les fleuves et les bateaux et --" Chad covered her mouth with his hand in the middle of her sentence. "Chad!" She complained, pushing his hand away. She gave him a glare that he shrugged off. "You were getting ahead of yourself. It's bad enough that you couldn't get the english accent, but speaking full french to him won't make it easier to understand it." She looked a little taken a back. "Oh.." Was all she said. Then she looked up at Darius beside ehr. With a big grin she said, "I' sorry. When I get carried away I totally forget what I'm speaking like. Chad's right. Sorry, my accent right now can't be too helpful, huh? I never was able to get the english accent. It's so hard. I mean, if you know how to speak french, you'd get why. It's so much easier and--" Chad had aken one of the chocolate bars off the table, one she'd brought with the drinks and other goodies, and stuffed it into her mouth. She swallowed it quickly. "Sorry.." She murmured, stirring her drink with her straw. Chad sighed and leaned back in hi chair. "So we're from France, we're twins' we moved here when we were twelve. Now, what about you?" His sentences were short, but not harsh. Esmé looked up and nodded in agrrement, keeping her mouth firly closed, determind not to talk as much. Though, she couldn't help the smile that broke through, lighting up her silver eyes. Her scarf, which had all but fallen off, she pushed back up. Her clothes were far more bright than chads. While he had a pair of black jeans and a white button up T-shirt and his skates(and the dark gray/silver scarf she'd made him wear) she was wearing Pale blue jeans streaked with silver, a bright silver T-shirt with a thin purple sweater over top. Her tuke was purple and silver, matching her mittens and and scarf. Her mittens went through her sweater and attached to eachother. It would be obvious to anyone that those were her most favoured colours.
