Isabis stared ahead, determined and ready for anything, *Typical* I sighed inwardly, looking back up at the hotel in front of me. I gripped nervously at the leash in my right hand, of course Isabis shifted his stance to stare up at me, sensing my mood. "I'm okay boy..." He merely looked at me with his calm grey blue eyes, as if to say "I know you are." He looked back ahead, and I took that as a sign to walk forward and into the front entrance, Isabis close to my side. It was weired holding the leash in my hand, It was the first time Isabis had ever had a leash on since I got him. I was surprised to find how he took to it like nothing, even though he never needed a leash, he was the most obedient dog I had ever encountered. Thinking about Isabis caused me to think about the hotel, *Do they allow dogs?* I looked to the front desk, then around the lobby, no one was trying to stop me. Once I got to the desk the person behind it smiled. I smiled back warmly, hoping I don't make an idiot out of myself. "May I have a room for the week?" I set my suitcase down that was in my left hand, and dropped the leash unconsciously to grab my large purse. Isabis sat down obediently and ignored the person at the desk, looking off to the right of the lobby, his eyes alert. I smiled again and looked up at the person, holding out my credit card happily.

Nikolas loved dogs, he always had. He'd never owned one, but the fact that there was an animal so naturally devout to the human being astounded him, and in a way made him feel secure in his place. The mongrel mutts of Moscow or of Rotterdam, where he'd grown up, had always stirred a deep affection and sympathy in him, and he vaguely remembered how he and his sister had put out food for them when they could. He hadn't seen many in the hotel since he'd started living there a few weeks ago, but the sight was a welcome one for him as he sat across the lobby and pretended to read the paper.
He studied Isabis from above the paper, failing to appear inconspicious and not really trying in the first place. He was a socialite, of course, and he pretty much knew everyone else in the hotel, so he assumed this must be a new neighbor. Honestly, living in the hotel fascinated him, although it was only temporary until he found more satisfactory arrangements. He hadn't often stayed in a hotel back home, and for him it was a new experience and full of adventure. Making a sudden decision, he folded the paper up and laid it neatly on the rack of the same paper that sat eternally in the lobby.
"Beautiful dog you have there," he said as he drew up to the girl, glancing her over appraisingly. Not quite so focused as the dog, whose stare was akin to that of a hawk. Nikolas noted the almost human expression on the animal's face, the protective posture, and, of course, the limp. He was not overly concerned about the latter, not particularly curious. He opened his mouth as if to say something else, but then realized that he really didn't have a plan. That was a weakness of his. He stammered for a moment, unsure of what to do next, trying to figure out his own motivations for coming over in the first place.

I paid for a room and felt a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders as I realized this may be the beginning of my new life. My good mood didn't last long however, before long a man had walked up to me, "Beautiful dog you have there," *OH no! He's going to kick us out, I knew I should have looked for a kennel for Isabis* I turned to the man, he looked like he had more to say, but I was already nervous. "I'm so sorry! I'll call a kennel for my dog... I..I really didn't know..." By now I had finally looked more closely at the man and realized he didn't look like he worked at the hotel. "And.... I'm just rambling" I said slowly as I clapped my hands together, hoping I could calm myself to answer properly. Just then Isabis stood up from his place between me and the stranger. He stepped back closer to me and looked up at the man, his calm eyes as if apologizing for my behavior. *Your always looking out for me...* I smiled warmly at Isabis. "Ya... He is a great companion..." I brought my now calm blue eyes to the strange man, smiling warmly I extended my hand. "I'm Anika Keely, and this is Isabis..." I smiled sweetly and waited for a response.

Nikolas was still stammering when Anika solved his problem for him. Her reaction surprised him at first, and he took a step backwards as she launched into a miniature panic attack. Apparently, she thought he had come to tell her that there were no dogs allowed in this hotel (despite the fact that she'd just been given a room key - in his opinion a pretty obvious clue that they were). He chuckled at her resolution, amused. "I can tell," he said, deciding to drop the subject of her slightly embarrasing outburst outright. He shook the extended hand, no longer focused on the dog but on Anika herself. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you both. I'm Nikolas Petrova."
Now that the ice was broken, Nikolas relaxed a little bit, grinning. Normally, the intensity of Isabis's gaze would have thrown him a little bit, but he could see utter devotion to his master there, and there was no sign that Isabis was actually going to attack Nikolas. Any truly over-protective dog would have done so at the hand shake, if not long before. "You want help with those bags?" It was a purely innocent request, the sort of neighbor-to-neighbor kind of thing that living in the slow country seemed to induce. The hotel, although it was well-serviced enough, didn't seem to have very reliable bellhops.

(Ok sorry im new and im tryin out different ways to rp so this post will be done differently.)
Anika shook Nikolas's hand, the firmness of the shake caused her to look more closely. He was rather tall, and handsome, but also he had an accent that she hardly noticed. Still smiling, Anika lowered her hand to her side, still in aw by how much Nikolas reminded her of home. "You want help with those bags?" The smile that had been splayed on Anika's lips slowly faded as she looked down at her one suitcase. When she had decided to leave she realized what little belongings she really had, so little that it fit into one large case. She had been a simple girl who went to school, got straight A's and merely went back home to help keep the apartment clean, since her father hadn't been the neatest person. She grew up with no other family members and spent allot of her time alone. Which might explain her tough time with being calm around people, and just being able to have a conversation without embarrassing herself. Isabish shifted his stance and looked up at Anika with expectant eyes. He then looked back at Nikolas and stepped forward slightly, resting his head just under the mans hand. Anika realized then she had just been standing there saying nothing, heat rose into her pale cheeks as she looked back to Nikolas. "Uh....Sure.." She bent down and grabbed the heavy case and passed it to him, still flustered by her obvious airhead behavior. She knew that as she got to know someone more she then came out of her cocoon and became an independent women ready for anything. It was just the first little bit that was the worst for her. *If Isibis is ok with him then I should be ok too...* "...Im....Room 6"Looking down at the key card in her hand, Anika then shifted her purse onto her shoulder and was ready to follow Nikolas, since she had no clue were room 6 would be, and he seemed to know were he was going.

Nikolas grinned slightly when Isabis took a step towards him, unconciously rubbing at the bases of the dog's ears for just a moment and shifting his gaze from girl to animal. He noticed the slight discomfort in Anika's gaze, and wondered vaguely if he'd said too much, before deciding against it. He wasn't one to be thrown by apparent shyness or discomfort, and at least the dog liked him, so he was determined to keep his friendly front on. He didn't exactly know why... But he was far from home and fairly friendless, and for one who'd been used to having a crowd of friends and enemies alike it was a strange experience indeed, and one that had to be corrected at any cost.
At her acceptance, he grinned and immediately reached forward to grab her bag. It was surprisingly light, considering that this was a woman's packing. "Hm. That would put you right down the hall from me, I suppose..." He murmured, more to himself this time, before shrugging. "Whatever. We'll find it." He was walking slightly in front of her, although not by far, her frame always visible at the corner of his eye as he made his way thorugh the deserted lobby and to the elevator. A surprisingly little amount of people resided here, and so it opened instantly. He held the door for them.
Honestly, he felt like kind of an idiot taking the elevator, considering the room was on the floor just above the lobby. He hadn't ever actually been in the elevator himself, he'd always walked up the stairs. It was probably quicker, and, besides, it must save nergy at some point. Not that he thought about it but to justify his actions. He eyed the pair again as the elevator made its way up a floor and stopped, not really knowing what to say to either of them, but happy for the company. He was not a solitary creature. The elevator came to a halt, and again he held the door while they exited. "Here we are..."
ooc|| Sorry if you consider any of that power-playing... o-o;. I didn't know what else to do.

Anika happily followed Nikolas to the elevator, Isabis close to her side between her and the stranger. Once on the elevator the group grew quite, not that Isabis would have barked. *I have never even heard him bark...* Anika took her gaze from the dog sitting patiently beside her as the door opened. "Here we are..." Anika followed Isabis out the door and looked at the numbers on the doors. Room 6 was down the hall on the right, she headed down the hall almost forgetting about Nikolas with her beg. She slowed her pace to let him catch up. "So... Nikolas" Anika looked down at her feet as she continued down the hall, but she soon realized that may be childish. She averted her blue eyes onto Nikolas as they walked. "It seems to me you really like dogs... May I ask if you have one of your own?" The smile Anika gave to Nikolas was more jenoine then she had intended. They had made it to her room, but she hesitated at the door, not wanting to leave quite yet. Anika wanted company, and Nikolas had been the first to offer.

Nikolas grinned as he picked up the slack and caught up. The bag really wasn't all that heavy, after all, but he was rarely rushed and never changed his pace as a rule. "Yes?" he said as she started, noting her very pointed shift of gaze. Honestly, he hadn't really noticed that she wasn't looking at him in the first place. "Ah... no, actually. I don't. I just moved here, and I've never had a dog anyway..." He admitted this last rather sheepishly, setting down her bag outside of the door.
It felt a downright shame to just leave her here and walk off, honestly. Nikolas was far from antisocial, and he enjoyed the company, seeing as he was, thus far, fairly new in town and didn't know many people. "Hey, want to go grab a cup of coffee or something later?" he asked, on a whim, not really knowing why, "us new folks have to stick together, after all, and I've heard the place down the street is pretty good."
