It all started out in 1979, when a rather well-off lady by the name of Kathryn Windermere bought the land surrounding Lake Windermere. She had been recently widowed, and was living with a young son.
Mrs. Windermere, or Lady Windermere, as the people of the nearby town of Swannville, Ontario called her, turned the land into a first-rate camp for children ages 13-17. Her son was seven when the camp opened its doors for the first time in 1980, and he too attended the camp before becoming a counselor.
Once Samuel Windermere turned 18, he lived at the camp, loving it the same way his mother did.
Sam Windermere was just another teen to Christiana Bellucci, albeit a very handsome one. Well, the two had a lot in common, and in time they developed a special relationship. She didn't care that he was the son of 'Lady' Windermere, and she fell in love.
At 23, the two were married, and took over the camp after Sam's mother became too frail to take full control. They managed the camp as Sam and Christiana Windermere, and expanded it to include the lake, built a few more cabins, and tidied up the lovely campground that had fallen into disarray in Lady Windermere's old age.
Sam and Christiana had three children, Lauren, Ben, and Sophie, and ran the camp during the summer.
Life was a fairytale for the two Windermeres, until one day changed everything, and left Christiana the single mother of three children with a job in the winter and running the camp in the summer. Sam had been hit head-on by another car coming home from work, and had died on the scene.
That summer, a few campers also changed Camp Windermere, forming some exclusive groups and cliques. The Windermeres were at the center of it all, with 15-year-old Sophie, and her former best friend, who are at either end of what looks like a war.
It started when Sophie noticed that her best friend, Callie, was flirting with her brother, Ben, and spending less and less time with her. Sophia felt used, and Callie denied it. The two exchanged insults, and the drama began.
The campers took sides, choosing either Callie or Sophie, and it just got worse. Ben was torn in the middle.
In the midst of it, girls began to move in, jockeying for position as Alyssa's or Sophie's new best friend. There was Bethany, who was intent on becoming Sophie's loyal sidekick, and then Madeline, who decided Callie was perfect for her.
It started off with just pranks and such, but it threatens to get nasty. How will Christiana handle it? Will Camp Windermere ever be the same?
It's different behind the spotlight.
