Personality: Romance is a bold mare who will jump absolutely anything. She is a bit shy of new riders, as she was abused in the past, but she adores Grace to no end and will go fine under any rider as long as she has gotten to know them. She can be a bit stubborn, and often needs to be told what to do rather than asked.
Romance loves her humans and would never do anything to harm them or run away, and in fact could probably not live out in the wild alone. She never will be ridden on the range, and is usually only ridden by Grace in jumping competitions (though Rory tends to steal her to ride for recreation, he insists that the mare needs to loosen up a little bit).
History: She is registered as German bred, with a nice parentage, but unfortunately she was neglected in early life by a man who bred horses like her to sell the foals as soon as they were born. When she was rescued at the age of five she was so thin and dirty, with such bad thrush in her hooves, that she was put in the kill pen. It was there that Grace Calder found her and took her home.
She was trained by her and her brother, and after some surgery was perfect for the show ring. It is dubious whether she will ever fully recover from her previous abuse, though.[/size][/ul]
