Dee moved along fluently on her horse's back. Her long brown hair was loose, which wasn't common of her, but she needed change every so often. As she felt the movement of her horse Sakura, beneath her, she closed her eyes momentarily. This would be her last time out to search for horses, at least for this season. She'd surely be out again, but in her opinion, horses weren't meant to be out in the winter, especially Sakura, The black, maybe, but not the horse she rode on now. She opened her eyes and patted the side of her horse's neck. She brushed the small lock of hair that was on that side over to the side with the rest of her mane. "There we go girl." she murmered close to her ear. Sakura snorted in reply. The young horse's coat shone in the winter sunshine, and she felt happy with her master on her back. She rode her easy and knew when she had had enough riding. She preferred Dee to anyone else. But she stopped suddenly. She caught the scent of wild horse. A wild mare, wasn't this what her master wanted to find? She pawed at the ground to tell her, but Dee only looked around for a reason as to why her horse stopped. Then, she heard the sound of rustling bushes. She clenched the reins tighter in her hands so as to have much control over her horse, if the rustling turned out to be a stallion, or a mare, or worse, a mountain lion. She grabbed the rope that was draped over the saddle horn in front of her. She unravled it beside her and it dropped to the ground. She reeled it back up and grabbed it just below the loop, ready to throw it.

This was unknown territory... Mihri knew that much. She knew that her senses had to be on guard, just in case... well. Just in case. She didn't want to be caught unawares. That could ead to some uncomfortable situations. And Mihri preferred to stay out of those.
Picking her way down a steep hill, Mihri's orbs caught a movement close to her. Her head shot up, her auds flickering forth and back. She felt herself tremble, and was ready to escape. A huge sigh of relief escaped her maw as a hare jumped out of the bushes. It looked at her, as if to make sure that she wasn't a threat, before jumping off and disappearing behind the hill Mihri had just descended. Her mind was racing with questions. 'Why am I here?' Was one of them. Did she want adventure? Did she want to see how far she could go before she got herself into some muddle? Normally, she'd have someone to help her out of trouble, but this time, she was alone.
Mihri had been on her way to find somewhere to seek safety - preferably with a nice herd. She didn't need food - her mother had taught her where to forage, so her coat was quite shiny, and her ribs didn't show. Mihri was one of the few used to winter - in fact, she enjoyed it. She loved cantering through the snow, leaving hoof prints all over. It wasn't smart, she knew that much, but her lust for adventure and adrenaline rushes was something she was constantly trying to dampen.
Crack! A twig snapped, breaking the silence, and Mihri came to a halt. She breathed in slowly, and scented an unusual smell as well as a horse. But, this horse didn't have the smell a wild horse would - the smell of summer grass, of fresh mountain air - no, this one had the smell of fresh hay, of leather, and something else - something Mihri couldn't recognize. She would have to move carefully.
Sneaking in behind frosty bushes, tall enough to just about cover her, Mihri could see a two-legged being on a horse. A tame horse. Mihri couldn't help snorting, but immediately regretted it when the two-legged spun around, its eyes searching the bushes Mihri was hiding behind. It picked up a long, thick piece of... what was that?! Mihri's eyes observed it, trying to decide for herself what it was. It had a loop in one end, just about big enough to... to fit around a horse's neck. Mihri couldn't help her curiosity, and took a step closer. Another twig was just about to break, but Mihri saw it just in time and placed her hoof down quietly just next to the other hoof. What she didn't realise was that the tip of her auds were visible, and her muzzle was showing inbetween the iced leaves. But instead of making one-hundred percent sure that she was hidden, Mihri watched the two-legged in fascination. This was the type of adventure she had been looking for!

As Dee sat there waiting for the creature to show itself, she heard the sound of rustling bushes as it grew closer. Her eyes penetrated the bushes, searching for the hidden creature, and then she saw it, glossy ears and a muzzle. It was a horse!! Oh, lucky day!! Dee smiled and then slowly moved her lasso closer to her body. With a slightkick of her right heel, Sakura stepped forward slowly. Sakura sniffed the air as she saw the horse, and she heard and smelled it too. This must be one of the wild horses that the other horses had told her about. She smelled of grass and snow, and as she sniffed again, she smelled nothing of humans! or hay! The poor creature. She extended her neck towards the bushes and flapped her lip playfully at the other horse. This was a game she and the other horses played all the time...But maybe this horse didn't understand it? She pulled her neck back and her ears flicked around. Her tail swatted at a fly as she waited in silence for the horse's next move.

Mihri couldn't help moving back in surprise. She could see on the two-legged's face that it had spotted her. She knew it was too late to sneak away, but she couldn't get herself to escape. Instead, she pulled her dial out from behind the bush, and stepped out onto the plains. Her auds were pricked, and she breathed in the scent of the two-legged. She wasn't sure if it was a dangerous smell, or a smell which meant safety. She could hear something in the distant, and swivelled her auds to try to figure out what it was. She thought she could hear horses, but was so fascinated by what was in front of her that she took a step closer. She was too far away to be caught by the two-legged, but close enough to see its every move.
As the minutes ticked on, snow began to fall. Slowly Mihri became colder, and had to stamp her hoof to keep warm. Her coat had grown, but was not insulated enough to keep her one-hundred percent warm. She shook her whole body, getting rid of the snow which had settled on her pelt. She knew she should be finding a place to spend the night, and began to turn, still watching and listening to the two-legged. She thought the sound of horses was closer now, but it was probably just the wind. Cold gusts of wind ruffled her mane, making it look like a whirlwind of silver silk.

Dee's face was pure concentration, she was determined to catch this inquisitive young, um, mare she was guessing right now. As the mare came out of the bushes, Dee was able to see her entire body. Strong legs, alert expression, she seemed the perfect horse to add to her farm, and she had a feeling Matt would like her alot. As the horse stood still, Dee clicked her tounge quietly and squeezed her knees together, making Sakura move forward slowly. Sakura obeyed, with ehr nose stretched out and an inquisitive look on her face. This horse didn't seem to be scared of them at all, she actually seemed, excited? Sakura's ears were still perked as she stepped forward. "Hello." she snorted finally at the horse. "What's your name?" she asked her bobbing her head and making her thick black mane billow. Snow began to drift down slowly and Sakura snapped at a falling snowflake. "Try this!! It's fun!!"She snapped at another one happilly.

Mihri stepped back in surprise as the two moved forward. Her auds flicked backwards in uncertainty, and she moved back another few paces as the two moved towards her. She didn't mind them being there, but she preferred them having distance between them - at least a few metres! She felt her instincts literally screaming at her to run, but her curiosity fought against her instincts and won.
"My name's Mihri." She paused, trying to choose between the many questions that were whizzing around in hear dial. "What is that thing on your back? And why is it holding a long, snake-looking brown... thing?" Mihri snorted as she said it. "And warn her that if you come any closer, I'll run until my muscles collapse from exhaustion." Her warning was clear - she was curious, for sure, but she wasn't stupid.
Watching the pair with eagle eyes, Mihri pinned her auds back at the two-legged. She sensed a storm coming, and knew that she had to find shelter, and fast. She had learned the hard way that storms could hit any time, with any amount of strength. Mihri could also sense that this storm wasn't child's play - it would hit hard. She decided to tell the tame horse. "Listen - there's a storm coming, and it's going to be both strong ad dangerous. You better get out of here while you can - before it's too late." Mihri spoke quietly, almost inaudible in the howling wind. Only the sensitive auds of a true horse would be able to hear her.

Dee was getting impatient now. The sky was an imposing shade of grey, signing that there was a storm coming...A large storm. She was going to catch this horse before it got away, and give it shelter. She brought the rope closer to her body and prepared to throw the loop over the horse's head. Then, she saw the wariness enter the horses's eyes. She stopped and waited, she knew that her and Sakur were communicating, she also knew the horses could tell that there was a storm coming, she felt an urgency rush through her body as the horse grew anxious. Sakura looked at the other horse. "Mihri..That's a pretty name! I'm Sakura!" she nodded her head to the other mare. "What?" she asked quizzicly "Oh, you mean Dee? She's my human. And that...um, I'm not really sure!" she said, happiness bubbling in her voice. "Oh....well, I can't do that...she won't understand, I'll try though..." then, as she listened closer, the mare told her of a coming storm. "Oh, I know there's a storm coming, but I'm going to go back to the stable, I'll be ok, what about you?" she asked, worry flashing into her eyes. "Could you come back with me? I could get you out if you want, once the storm passes, but, we have food and shelter, and, ummm." Sakura looked around her. "Oh yeah! And Duke, and Patron', and The Black!! They all live there too! They're really nice! And you haven't met Maddie, or Matt yet!! Oh, please come back with us!! We'll help you out if you want I guess. Please?" Sakura's brown eyes pleaded, she really liked this horse, it was the first wild horse she had met, and she really liked her!!
ooc: You wanna let Dee catch her, take her back, and then the other horses break her out, like after the storm? It would be fun to roleplay a wild horse interacting with tame ones, maybe they could become friends or something...

Immediately Mihri was on guard, not sure about whether to trust this horse or if it was some sort of trap. She was still aware of the fact that she needed to find shelter, but the wind was not as strong as she thought it would be, so maybe she could travel a bit longer before finding shelter.
Seeing the snake-like brown material being brought closer to her, Mihri moved backwards, pinning her ears to her head and snorting angrily. What was this two-legged imagining? Surely she wasn't thinking she'd be able to catch her? This territory and this climate suited Mihri fine, as she blended more in with her surroundings now than at any other time of the year. The human would never find her if Mihri were to run off. In fact, the poor two-legged would be wasting its time. "Tell your... owner to stay away from me - I don't care how you do it, just keep it away!" Mihri's voice was venomous, and by swishing her tail she only confirmed her discontent. "As for your offer, it actually sounds quite intriguing, but your two-legged is making me feel uneasy, what with its snake-like thing and all. Just seeing it makes my instincts shout at me to run. It reminds me of horses being kept in captivity... like you." Mihri finished, her eyes full of wildness and a freedom only seen in the eyes of true wild horses.
"I suppose I could come, but how do I know that your two-legged's won't try to make me one of their slaves?" Mihri didn't try to hide the suspicion or the curiousness from her voice. She almost had to shout over the wind now, as it had increased in strength once again. She waited, watching them both with gleaming eyes. She was ready to run, if necessary.

Sakura snorted at her angrily. "They take good care if me, they feed me and help me. I'm not going to tell her what to do!" Sakura stomped her foot angrily. Then,as the horse seemed interested in the oportunity she lightened up. "Well, they really are nice, they give you hay and they brush you, and the shelter is really warm!"Then as the horse explained her fear, Sakura laughed. "I was scared of it too, when she caught me, but then I realized that it wouldn't hurt you, see, it only goes around your neck for a little bit, and if you don't fight it, it won't dig into your neck, it did that to me, but I've learned better now." she smiled at her. "They will, I can garuntee, but we won't let them do it, you can stay until you want to leave, then me and the other horses will help you get out, they'll let you out into the pasture if you're good, and then we'll help you get out, I promise." she bent her head down as another gust of wind came, but then, suddenly, her sides were pressed together and she lunged forward. "Make your decision!" she neighed loudly as she heard the sound of the rope whizzing over her head. "If you let her catch you, remember, don't fight it!".
Dee threw the rope at the wild horse, the storm was coming, and she needed to leave soon to get back to the ranch in time to put the horses up.

Backing away further, Mihri thought for half a second, before answering. "I'll follow you back to your ranch! Just show me the way! I prefer being able to choose my own way, and... run, you know - just in case. Mihri pricked her auds forward, pawing at the ground with her hoof. She couldn't speak, but she wanted to show the two-legged - no, the human - that she wanted to tag along. She realised now that, though she could probably find a shelter, it could take days - and Mihri wasn't sure if she wanted to look for that long, or, rather, if she could.
Now that Mihri had made her decision, she felt a spark of excitement. This was definitely what she was looking for - an adventure out of the ordinary. All she had to do, was plan every move very carefully - what she thought was a game could quickly turn into more - no matter what Sakura said, the humans could decide to keep her. And that was something that Mihri did not want to do, not even for the sake of an adventure.

Sakura bobbed her head up and down, her long black mane, bouncing with it. Then, the wind gusted and Sakura reared on her hind legs, pawing at the air. The sky had turned a dark grey color and the land around them was quickly growing dark. Another gust of wind almost toppled her over. "Hurry!" she yelled. "Run around me! Keep going straight until I tell you!" she bucked her heels in the air behind her, and Dee gasped and held on tighter. Sakura had never bucked before. She stroked the unsettled horse beneath her soothingly. She hated to leave this beautiful horse behind, but... the wind and the snow that was sure to come, would cause great danger for everyone involved...including her and Sakura... Dee clicked her tounge, squeezed with her heels and tugged softly on the reigns, turning Sakura around towards home.
