Elizabeth walked up the pathway to the ranch and she sighed but walked on. Her high heels were killing her feet by now and she was happy went she reached the stables. She looked at her hands and sighed "no more manicures for you now Elizabeth she said softly to herself and looked ahead of her and at what seemed to be the ranch owners house so she quickly walked up the the ranch house and knocked on the door.
She smoothed her blonde hair and sorted out her outfit, denim jeans, a white top and a demin waistcoat. She looked at the jeans and sighed as they were old in her eyes but in a 'normal' person they would be very new as Elizabeth had only had them two weeks. She looked around her with her green eyes and then looked back at the door, waiting for the owner of the house to answer. What is he is out? she asked herself but then reasured herself quickly.

A small smile was etched on his face as he went about his daily routine. Well technically, once he was officially settled in, this wouldn't be his daily routine. Even though he had barns and a wonderful land, almost all the stalls needed to be cleaned. So far, he'd only done about half of them. Oh joy, right? With a sigh, he straightened his back, placing both of his hands on top of the pitchfork handle, leaning his weight on it. Once he was done with cleaning out all of this, then, and only then, he would be able to get some horses. Which, he desperately wanted to do. That was the whole point of having this much land, after all.
Despite not being in his house, he heard the approach of a person and they knocked on the door. Really, if you lived in this town, you should be able to know, generally people are in the barns. Shrugging that off, he tried to also get away from the nervousness that was gripping him. He didn't do well with people, honestly, he absolutely hated being shy. What can you do? Seeing as there was no hope of changing his personality, he decided to just live with it. Leaning the pitchfork against a stall wall, he walked up to the house, spotting a girl standing in front of the door. He groaned inwardly at the sight of her, she was pretty, which didn't help the shy factor. Walking up, trying to appear confident, he stopped in front of her. "Hi, I'm... Andrew." His brown eyes glinted and he shifted his weight from foot to foot, like a nervous horse. "Can I help you with something?"

Jessie waited an checked her nails a bit before hearing someone walking on the pathways between barns "he must be in the barns" she thought and sighed but she was happy when she saw him start to walk around the house and toward her and she smiled again and patted her hair before looking around and at the figure infront of her.
Jessie looked at Andrew and smiled as she knew he was nervous by the way he shifted and didn't talk much. "Hi, I'm Elizabeth, Elizabeth Knightly" she said happily and walked toward him "I came for a job, my parents went backrupt and I have no money so its the only way" she laughed and tossed her golden hair happily.
She wondered how much he would pay but she didn't request amount just yet, instead she just smiled at him.

For a brief moment Andrew took in her appearance, blonde hair combed to perfection, and nicely manicured nails. Somehow this girl didn't seem like the type to work in a barn. However, he knew better than to judge based upon appearances. Lifting his right hand he pushed away a part of his hair that was hanging in his face. Standing next to this girl, he felt extremely underdressed. Despite being at his ranch. All he had on was an old white t-shirt that was actually a little to tight, he just didn't have the time to bother about going to get new clothes. And some ratty ripped up jeans. Of course he had the traditional cowboy boots, though he wasn't wearing his hat like he normally did, no, you could easily see his dark brown hair that looked messy because he hadn't taken the time to comb it that morning.
He gave a small nod as she spoke, enough to acknowledge the fact that she gave him her name. Small talk with a complete stranger wasn't his forte. He just wanted to get down to business, well, the reason she was here that is. What came next slightly surprised him, though he had figured it was something along those lines. How she could seem happy that her parents were bankrupt and about her entire situation, he wasn't sure. Maybe she was just a naturally happy person. "Well, I've got a need for some employees, it doesn't pay much just to warn ya. Seeing as I just started." He watched him with a concentrated look. Quickly he decided he might as well tell her how much she would be getting paid. "You'll get food and board here, which will count as a part of your paycheck, on top of that you'll get around $500 a week. That okay?" He paused and then seemed to remember something rather abruptly."Oh and, you'll be able to choose one day a week for your day off."

Elizabeth laughed a little "I always did love the western look" she smiled again and nodded before smiling when he mentioned the facilities and then the pay "thanks Andrew, I hope we would be friends" she rubbed her hands together "when do I start?" she said and smiled before seeing the car pull up "thanks John" she said as he took out her suitcases.
She sighed and ran her hands through her hair which was starting to get scruffy by then. She searched one and found a pair of shoes which were quite sruffy so she shoved them on her feet "sorry, my feet are killing me and maybe this job will help me stop being...a snob" she sighed and then looked at Andrew and walking up to him "mum called John to come round, she is always sure I get my things and she didn't even know I would get the job" Jessie smiled and she put her hands on the pitchfork he had in his own hands "I can't wait to get started".
Elizabeth saw John put the suitcases down on the path and then drive off again "man, I have too much stuff" she sighed and then sat down on the floor, not caring for dirt as right know she knew what was happening, she was falling in love.

He stopped for a moment to consider when she should start. Well, he needed help, so he guessed the sooner the better. So, he said just that. "Whenever you can get your stuff moved into the house." His face didn't betray any emotion, and his eyes were shadowed by the rim of his cowboy hat. He watched her calmly, not saying anything else. Brown eyes shifted to glance at the person that dropped off her suitcase. A chauffeur? Kind of high up, a little much for a small horse centered town like this one.
Andrew's eyebrows shot up and a look of astonishment covered his face. What she said, it was, well, slightly, straight forward. Stop her from being a snob? He, honestly, had never met a girl who had dissed herself before. It just wasn't... natural. "Uh... Well, falling off a horse will certainly bring someone down a peg or two." Poor guy, put on the spot... He tried to remain calm, but really, she was making him nervous. Andrew watched her put her hands on the pitchfork, he quickly let go, and took a easy step backward. "Alright, whenever you're ready to work, let me know. Tomorrow would be best, but if not, then the day afterward."
For a quick second, Andrew eyed her stuff. "That you do" He mumbled softly, trying not to offend her. But hey, she had said it first, right? Ah well, if he had offended her, it was already done. No need to get himself all worked up over something that he knew he couldn't change.
