Chapter one.
''Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. Thats why we call it the present.''
Today really sucks. Yes it did. Marcie-Anne grabbed her coat, to go to another stupid riding lesson with her younger sister; Sally. She was 12, and did not find anything interesting about it. "Let's go girls!" Marce's mother yelled from the car. Marcie grunted, pulled her sneakers on; and jumped in the co-pilot's seat. Sally squealed idiotically as she pulled her black leather half-chaps on. Marcie rolled her eyes, and they drove off. A few minutes later, the mini van skidded to a stop in a gravel driveway in front of a white barn. "Let's get out." Mom said to her two girls. Marce pulled her auburn hair into a tight pony-tail and jumped out of the car. Sally ran to the barn, as Mom, and Marcie stalked behind her.
The riding instructor, Mrs. Hunter smiled warmly as the trio grinded to a halt in front of her. Marcie frowned, Mom smiled, and Sally giggled. "Today, Sally; you will ride Abercrombie." Mrs. Hunter's voice boomed. Marcie made a half-hearted grimace, and walked down the isle to a dark stall at the end of the hall. Wild eyes stared at her, Marcie almost stumbled when she saw them glare at her. "Marcie." Mrs. Hunter called.
"Would you like to ride?"
"Yes." Marcie replied feebly.
"- and, who is this h-horse?"
"That is Hypocrite - she is dangerous."
"o-okay." And with that, Marce jogged off.
Marcie pulled on leather boots, and a black helmet as Mrs. Hunter led her a sleek buckskin horse with blue eyes.
"Today, Marcie, you will be riding Primavera." Announced Mrs. Hunter.
Marcie swung onto the black saddle, and they were off. She hated horses - she really did.
