Roxanne
The sound of the engine cut off abruptly, and the gentle sounds of seagulls and the ocean breaking against the rocks, filled the momentary silence that followed. A happy grin claimed her face as her brown eyes looked out over the refreshing view. Reaching out with her left hand, she opened the door of her truck, hopping out quickly and slamming the door behind her. Unlike some people who came to the beach to tan, she was here to swim. It wasn't like she got to swim very much at all, and she planned to take full advantage of the fact that she was feet away from the rolling blue ocean. She glanced down quickly at her outfit, she hadn't dressed up to say the least. But she really wasn't planning out meeting people here today. Besides, even if she was, this was all she had to wear, and that suited her just fine. A raggedy blew towel was wrapped around her waist, covering her base legs. Curse stupid swim suits, she mumbled under her breath. The swimsuit itself was a one piece, she wouldn't be caught dead in a two piece. The suit was black, and plain, just the way she liked it. She hated to draw attention to herself, but it did fit around her thin frame perfectly.
With a second glance at the beach, she smiled again. Making her way towards it quickly. Her dark coffee brown hair was let down, framing her face and falling down fast her shoulders in a rippling wave of dark curls. Her brown eyes lit up and practically danced at the sight of the beautiful ocean. She stayed standing as she looked around the beach. Not many people were here, and that was fine by her. Of course, she glanced up at the tall structure, there was a life guard on duty. Shrugging her shoulders she threw the towel down on the sand, but remained standing, admiring the beauty of the water.
Ava McRae
In one quick movement, she jumped off the bike. No, not a regular bike in case you were wondering. A hot pink motorcycle. And if you make one comment about a girl not owning motorcycles, she's likely to bite your head off. With a satisfied smile spread out over her perfectly glossed lips, she kicked the stand up on the bike, withdrawing the key swiftly. Right after depositing it into her purse. With one hand, she pulled down her stylish sunglasses, glancing around the beach for any sign of other people. There were a few here and there, and though she would have liked more, she shrugged, and started to walk away from the bike. Her light blonde hair swaying as she moved towards the beach. She, unlike most girls found in this town, enjoyed dressing up. For that reason, she had a skirt around her waist, with a high split that allowed her to ride her motorcycle bike. It wasn't a normal skirt, it was one you buy to go over your swimsuit. It wasn't cold, so she hadn't bothered to bring a jacket, but a form fitting t-shirt covered a black swimming top. The top had pink lining on it, and was what some people call, flashy. The bottom piece of the swimsuit however, was black, with less pink lining, but still it was visibly there.
With her right hand, she tossed her hair behind her shoulder. Her chocolate brown eyes scanning the beach again, from behind her sunglasses. Ava almost dropped her purse, when her eyes settling on a familiar person. A wicked grin covered her features, but she soon replaced it with an innocent smile. Her sister. Ah, the fun would finally begin. Seeing as her sister had yet to know that she was in this town. Resuming her walk, she made her way towards Roxy. Stopping only once she was a foot away from her. She approached from behind and still had not been seen. With a simply movement, she dropped everything she was holding into the sand. "Roxanne. Darling, you look..," She paused, knowing her sister would be angry from the use of her full name. "Positively horrible, what have you done to yourself?" She grinned, her innocent expression never fading as she stood, now in front of her sibling.

The sun hugged the air with warmth and almost blinding light, shining down across the surface of the water. The circle orb was reflected and magnified across the tremulous sea, stretched and distorted until it was but a shaft of light scattered by the waves. Seagulls circled above the water, looking for the sunfish that swam in the shallows, crying loudly to one another as they skimmed the tops of the waves. It was a beautiful day - everything bright and warm, the predecessor of the coming summer. Nonetheless, there weren't many people scattered across the white sands of the beach, there never were. There simply weren't a lot of people in town, and it was still pretty early in the morning, the dew clinging to the sea grasses and coating the distant maritime forest. There were only three or four cars parked in the lot up the road, far away from the fragile dunes.
Far down the beach, around a cove and out of view of the main beach, a pair of teens jogged along, leaving footprints on the wet sand that was left behind by the lapping tide. High tide had faded back not much before, leaving behind a scattering of shells. One of the joggers, the younger one, a girl, was occasionally stopping to examine some particularly pretty spiral or half of an oyster. "Rory, wait up!" she called after a long moment, and Rory stopped, turning around with a raised eyebrow at his sister, who was bent down over the sand and looking at a whorled shell, finally picking it up a bit reverentially, "I found a left-handed one." She looked over the ridges again, looking at the distinctive left-facing loop, something that was, as in humans, harder to find in oysters. Rory chuckled.
"Grace! You and your shells! Come on, let's get going. We have to get back to the barn eventually, you know," he said, more amused than snappish, "your show is coming up soon." Rory was glad that the shows had finally been scheduled, but the way things were going neither of his horses would be ready by the time the races were scheduled to run. he had yet to get Falcon out on the track, unfortunately. He would have, if not for the colt that he had bought, Knight, who was demanding at least an equal amount of daily activity as Falcon. He really needed to get an exercise rider for his hyperactive horses. With a grin, he shook his head at Grace and turned away, jogging back around the cove, beneath the overhang of a craved out cliff. Grace dropped the shell and followed, leaving it for other enthusiasts to find.
"Hey, that's Roxy!" Rory said, stopping suddenly. Grace nearly collided with his shoulder, but managed to stop before being knocked off of his feet. Grace pulled up beside him, looking down across the almost blindingly bright sand. She was interested despite herself in this girl who Rory had been raving about for a such a long time. Her brother was not one to throw his friendship and liking away wantonly, in fact he seldom made friends with anyone. Grace looked stunned for a moment, because her brother was blocking half of the view. All she saw was the ridiculously blond girl walking along with a skirt on, despite being at the beach. this did not look like anyone her brother would associate with. Rory had turned his eyes to Ava, which didn't really help Grace's confusion.
"What, that porcelain doll? With the motorcycle, no less?" She asked, raising an eyebrow at Rory, who immediately glared at her, before realizing that Grace couldn't actually see Roxy from where she was standing. He immediately moved to the side, and Grace gave a little 'oh' of understanding. In her opinion, the rough Roxy was a lot prettier than that toxic supermodel type that was advancing across the sands. Rory looked rather confused, looking back and forth between the two figures. Ava was obviously being... well... poisonous... Her stance was so threatening that it caused Grace to stiffen up from even this distance. Rory was murmuring under his breath, the skin stretched white over his knuckles. Grace put a hand on his shoulder - her brother could get a tad bit over-protective.
"Let's just save her, we can find out what exactly's going on over there later," he said after a moment, relaxing a little bit. Grace stared over his shoulder at the scene. Unfortunately, this took some effort, as Rory was quite a bit taller than her. "Hey, Roxy!" he called, his words ripped across the air by a salty breeze as he waved a hand with a broad, porcelain grin.

Roxanne
Everything was relaxing. The sun warming her shoulders and the gentle breeze playing with her hair. She was finally able to relax and enjoy the lovely spring day. Roxy was thankful that she had some time to herself. Not having to worry about the horses or anything of the like. Besides, if something went wrong, Ana was there and had her cellphone number if the need arose. A smile played across her lips and she took a deep breath, practically being able to taste the salt in the air. Her hands were perched on her hips and her weight was situated comfortably on her right leg. Her chocolate brown eyes gazing out across the wide spread ocean. Bliss. Her eyelids fluttered closed as she took another deep breath, trying to get rid of all the worries of owning a ranch. An excited gleam in her eye sparkled brilliantly, as she remembered the new horse she had just bought. The mare was an Akhal-Teke, and absolutely gorgeous. She could hardly wait to ride her again. So far, she had only rode her once, and that was before she had decided to buy her.
An unwelcome, and unpleasant voice interrupted quite rudely into her thoughts about Wings. Her eyes snapped open and her breathing grew heavier, she bit her bottom lip to keep from whirling around. It couldn't be her. There was no way that her sister was in this small town. Yet, who else would know her full name, and say it with such fake friendliness. No one. Carefully, she turned around. Meeting the chilling brown eyes of a blonde. She cringed at the sight of her sister, wishing fervently that she was dreaming. Truth be told, this would be classified under a nightmare. At the words from her sister, her eyes flashed in brief anger. She quickly controlled her temper. If her sister could do anything, it was get on her nerves far faster than anyone else. Roxy still held onto the belief that one of them was adopted. Surely they couldn't have the same parents... Brown eyes still flashing, she replied in a quiet voice. "Nothing out of the ordinary, Ava." She felt like spitting out her sister's name, but instead managed to keep her cool. "And you look, like you always have." She eyed her sisters outfit with disgust evident on her face. "What are you doing here!" Okay, so her temper kind of got away from her. Her voice rose on that question, and her cheeks were slightly flushed. Roxy and Ava had what some people call a sibling rivalry. Roxy herself would classify it as, general hatred. But hey, that was just an opinion.
Another voice cut through the tension in the air between the two sisters. This time though, there were mixed feelings in Roxy. Happy to here a familiar and friendly voice, and nervous because he was going to meet Ava. Gosh, what was he going to think when he found out the blonde supermodel in front of her, was her sister? Turning away from her sister, she looked across the beach until her eyes rested on two figures not far away from where she stood. "Rory!" She half shouted, half spoke back to him. Raising her voice slightly just to make sure he heard over the crashing waves. She gazed curiously at the other person behind him. "So, uh, you just out to do some jogging?" She asked, stumbling a bit over her words.
Ava McRae
"Maybe you should switch your ordinary then" Ava suggested with a sly smirk on her lips. Really, the outfit she wore was hideous. Who even worse one pieces anymore? It was so, several years ago. A mocking look covered her face as she looked at her sister. "Well of course, Roxanne, I always looked and always will look, fabulous." She replied smoothly, though her voice clearly showed her displeasure in the fact that Roxy had said the words as an insult. But then again, her sister never was a good judge in fashion sense. Ava flicked a strand of blonde hair back behind her shoulder, and then reached up, taking the sunglasses from in front of her eyes and then perching them on the top of her head. A smirk covered her features, and her brown eyes laughed at Roxy openly. The dumbfounded and angry look on her sister's face was priceless. What she wouldn't give for a camera at that very moment. Of course, it must be shocking to find your only sister, a fashionable one at that, in a small filthy little hick town.
"What?" She asked with a feigned look of her flashing across her face, though it never reached her eyes. "You aren't happy to see your one and only sister?" Her hurt expression vanished abruptly, and a smirk took its place in a matter of seconds. "Truly Roxanne, you don't know how much that hurts." Her tone of voice and facial features telling anything but what she actually put into words. She had never really cared what her sister thought of her. It was her life, and she was darn well gonna live it. "I'm here on business." She responded off-handedly. Not really giving Roxy a straight answer on the true reason she was here. Ava was here to get into the horse business, she even had top notch facilities. She would rise to the top, in her personal opinion. In fact, she already had her first horse, a stallion. A lovely color and quite the attitude.
When a voice cut through the air, it immediately caught her attention. One reason, the person was calling Roxy and obviously knew her. The second, it sounded like a male voice. Perfect. Yet, how did Roxy manage to start knowing a guy? Turning around she looked for the source of the voice. Stopping and smiling brightly when she saw the person. And it seemed, there was also someone else there. "How'd you manage to know him?" She asked incredulously. With her smile still intact, she waited for the two people to come up towards them. Her brown eyes sparkling with delight. Guys seemed to hold her attention longer than most things could. "Rory?" She asked, with laughter ringing in her voice. "Well aren't you two, peas in a pod. Just one letter difference, dear sister"

Grace was looking with rapt interest now at the pair of girls across the beach. They looked nothing alike... but somehow they were eerily similar. And they seemed to know each other, though Roxy looked none-to-happy about that fact. Rory grinned as he heard Roxy calling above the waves, "I always am!" he called back. Of course, she wouldn't know that. He tried to get out here as often as possible, he had loved running along the gulf in Texas and even on track team in Flint. Despite hating Flint so much, it had done a lot for him and his family. With a grin back at Grace, he jogged across the sand to join the pair of girls. Grace, looking uncomfortable, followed rather more slowly, her eyes a bit troubled. This other girl didn't appeal to her finer senses at all. Grace had enough trouble with people as it were, especially those who got on her nerves. Just her luck to meet her brother's little 'friend' at last, but have it sullied by this other girl.
They both only caught a few words of the conversation between the sisters, although one of these words was, unfortunately, actually 'sister'. Rory rose an eyebrow at Roxy, paying as little attention to Ava as possible. Just the way she talked was irking him, making the hairs on the back of his neck rise up a little bit. "Sister?" he asked incredulously, shaking his head in silence. Grace stood a little ways behind him, surveying the scene uncomfortably. Rory rolled his eyes at her, and she would have stuck her tongue back out at him if she hadn't been so stiff all of a sudden. Nonetheless, she stepped a bit closer. It was then that Rory seemed to remember that Roxy hadn't actually met his sister yet - though she had expressed the desire to do so, and he hastily introduced her. "Oh, this is Grace, by the way. My sister." Grace looked down at her feet, desperately trying to stay as far away from the conversation as possible. Rory nudged her a bit to obviously with his elbow, and she looked up slightly sheepishly, looking a lot like her brother right then with a little half-grin plastered on her face. The grin was obviously fake, her green eyes, a bit paler than those of her brother, were worried, not happy.
"Nice to meet you... both," she added the last word a bit hesitantly, "I know about you, Roxy... Rory talks about you all the time," this prompted Rory to nudge her again, coughing loudly as if trying to cover up the statement. Although he didn't actually try to rebut it. "But I'm afraid I didn't know you had a sister..." the way she trailed off kind of let on the drift of her thoughts. Rory, who was a bit on edge at this point, stared off at the night stars (of course it was broad daylight) in the sky somewhere above Roxy's head. Grace just looked back down at her shoes. The sand seemed to be proving rather more interesting than was warranted. After a long, silent moment, Rory coughed again, looking rather more uncomfortable as the conversation diminished. He, too, was honestly wondering about this sister of Roxy's, who she had neglected to tell him about. Somehow he seemed to manage to do most of the talking when he was around her, if only to save the conversation from diminishing. The last time he'd seen her was on the trail, and though he had meant to get in touch with her again, things had gotten extraordinarily busy after that.
"So..." he murmured, looking back at Roxy again, and sparing Ava a glance in the bargain. Though he figured that most guys probably would have been swooning over her at this time, he recognized the fact that he was the one who had fallen in love with a horse, which was probably saying something about the nature of the things he liked. Which included jogging and, to some extent, working. The callouses on his hands were bigger now than they had been before he'd come here, telling of the massive amount of work he'd been doing at the barn. He had finally managed to get all of the stalls cleared, and even mowed the track, which had taken a lot longer than expected. He probably needed a stable hand, although he really wasn't in a financial situation in which he could manage to pay an employee for any length of time. "What's been going on? There seem to have been a lot of horse sales around here... How's Tango? I don't know... Just say something, please." His frustration with the silence was showing through.
"I actually kind of bought another horse..." he said, filling the air. Plus, he knew that Roxy would be interested in Knight. The young stud was a very charismatic type of thoroughbred, with his flashy color and fine conformation. Nonetheless, he was turning out to be something of a terror. Rory almost preferred a horse that had never been touched by another trainer to one who had been badly trained and was jumpy and hard-mouthed because of it. "A thoroughbred, Masquerade Knight. I guess I'm going to be doing a lot of galloping at some point," he grinned in a rather rather cheesy manner, and Grace bit her tongue to contain a burst of laughter at his expression. He was shifting, very slightly, from foot to foot now, showing his nervousness, and perhaps his anxiety about training both of the horses at the same time. They were already hand fulls alone, and the two of them at the same time had the potential for disaster. Nonetheless, Rory really, really liked Knight, even if his heart had already been stolen away by Falcon. The stallion seemed rather meant for him.

Roxy & Ava
Despite the horrible situation she found herself in, much to her unhappiness, a lopsided grin appeared on her face as Rory yelled back. At least she was aware that he had heard her from the distance they had been at. Her smile remained on her face firmly, despite the urge to from in disgust at the company they would be in. Namely, Ava. Oh shoot. Her eyes widened momentarily. Rory didn't know she had a sibling. True, he had never really asked. But there had been moments it would have been normal to bring a sister up. Like the time he was talking about his sister, she could've mentioned that she had one too. But that would have been easier if she had any like of her sister at all. Roxy considered it somewhat of a tragedy that she had any siblings at all. Really, being the only child would have been much easier on her life. And much more, oh what was that wonderful word, enjoyable. "Ah, always on the move now are you?" She asked with a joking grin on her face, trying to forget the fact that her sister was standing right beside her. Ava, however, was quite comfortable standing by her sister. She watched the interaction between Roxy and the new guy, Rory, with interest.
Rory, and the mystery girl, were now standing a couple feet in front of her and Ava. It sure hadn't taken them much time at all to cover the distance that had separated them. At one word that escaped from Rory's mouth, Roxy cringed, quite noticeably. "Er... uh..." She stuttered, words not really coming out well at all. "Yeah..." She finished lamely. Of course, they had known that. But, what could someone expect from her? She had just had one of the major shocks of her life and now, she had to talk to a friend about it. Fabulous. Note the sarcasm. Ava interrupted, giving Rory and the other girl a smooth smile, showing her white teeth. "I'm Ava." She spoke, in a polished voice. Roxy cast one look over at her sister, before switching her gaze back to Rory. Her brown eyes didn't stay on him for long though, they quickly flitted to the other girl, with interest in her eyes. "Seriously?" She asked with a huge grin quickly coming to her face. She walked up to the other girl, Grace, and held out her hand. "I'm Roxy, as you probably know, seeing as you were standing right by your brother when he shouted it. Gosh, Rory, the whole town must have heard you" She quickly introduced herself, and teased Rory at the same time. What could she say, she had always liked to tease her friends. It was a normal occurrence with her. Ava simply watched with a bit of disgust, as her sister teased Rory. Then looked over at Grace. Almost sizing her up, seeing if she had competition for some of the cute guys in the town. Seeing known, she merely nodded a hello. No bothering to speak to the girl. Roxy's smile widened at Grace's words, and then bit back laughter as Rory nudged Grace and coughed, loudly. Her smile twisted slightly and she smirked at Rory. "Really now?" She asked in a teasing tone. Ignoring that flipping sensation in her stomach. Then her mind, being oh so random, thanked herself for not blushing easily. Yes, I know, weird.
One finely plucked eyebrow went up, as Ava listened to Rory try to break the silence. Really, what more to make it awkward than a "so...". Very amateur in trying to get rid of another's unease. She shifted slightly, her skirt whirling around her long legs as she tried to get comfortable. Her eyes glanced over at Grace and then remained on Rory. He seemed, well, she really wasn't sure how to describe him. She listened to him talk about horses. And then put in some pitiful words about asking someone to talk. "It seems everyone in this town is centered on horses, like my dear sister, Roxanne" At the use of her full name, Roxy grimaced, visibly. And tried to resist glaring at her younger sister with utter hatred. Instead, she focused on the sand intently, but still listened to every word that was spoken. "I too have a horse, Dayze, a wonderful pinto stallion and quite a talent for jumping" Snootiness was evident in her tone, and Roxy looked at Ava in disgust. How dare Ava be rude to her friends! "Tango's good" She responded easily, she hadn't got to spend as much time with him as she had wanted to. "How's Falcon?" She asked him, she knew how much he liked that horse. And with shows coming up, she wondered on how the arabian mare's training was coming along.
"Really?" Roxy asked with an excited voice, while her sister snorted at how easily excitable she was, especially over horses. Horses, of all things, Ava thought in annoyance. Ignoring her sister's rude interruption, she continued. "What kind of attitude does he have?" She questioned, naturally curious about this new horse. Honestly, one day she needed to just go over to his ranch so she could see his horses for herself. But, that wasn't likely to happen for a while. Oh well, she could wait. "You gonna enter him in the shows coming up? Or are you waiting for the next shows?" Okay, yes, she does like to ask questions. Seriously, who doesn't? Ava watched their exchange with dull interest. Generally, when it wasn't her talking, she tended to get bored. Which is never a good thing. "A thoroughbred? So you race horses?" She asked Rory flirtatiously. Roxy's eyes nearly bugged out, at hearing her sister's tone. Seriously, could she go without flirting for more than a week? Wait, make that a day!
"I got a horse too." Roxy interjected with an annoyed tone of voice. "A bay racing arabian." She included, her voice soaring with happiness. The mare was amazing, and such a sweetheart! "She isn't fully trained, but that's okay, she's got really talent and if I do things right, I'm sure things are gonna go well" She grinned, then looked over at Grace, trying to include her in the conversation. "What about Romance? How's her training coming?" Ava, looking disgusted, yet again, she interrupted. "Is all you talk about horses?" She questioned incredulously.

Rory was now pretty much jogging in place, obviously not having the same capacity for standing perfectly still as Grace, who was still looking down at her feet. The two looked so alike, but had opposite personalities. Pretty much the opposite of Roxy and Ava, though they also retained the opposite personalities as well as the strikingly dissimilar looks. "Of course," he replied to Roxy, mirroring her lopsided grin. How obviously his emotions showed through his face was almost amusing, even the slight distaste for Roxy's sister was etched there pretty plainly. It made him terrible at card games and the like, unlike his father and, to some extent, his sister. Grace always radiated such perfect innocence that you never expected her to be holding pocket aces. "Aren't you? I'm always busy now, so it keeps me happy." Rory, who was exactly like his horses in the regard of always wanting to be doing something, was honestly thrilled about working around his own ranch. And the showing season seemed to be creeping up, as well. He would probably be able to get Falcon in some of the later ones, and hopefully Knight would be ready early enough.
Rory looked almost amused at Roxy's reaction to his simple question. He wasn't bothered by not knowing - honestly he had avoided telling her about the less pleasant aspects of his family (namely his father) as well, and he didn't even care that the subject of a sister could have easily come up at some point. Honestly they didn't know each other that well, even though he would really like to know her better. Honestly, he probably would have invited her over by now if not for how much work he still had to do around the barn. Plus, he still had to finish dusting everything, which he had been carefully avoiding due to a rather annoying allergy to dust mites. "Alright, then..." he said after a moment, his restless shifting dying down to a steady rhythm. "Pleased to make your acquaintance, Ava," from the whiteness of his knuckles as he said that and the small lick of his lips, it was rather obvious if one paid attention that he really wasn't that pleased. Grace was fervently hoping that he wouldn't fly off - that tended to happen with him. It was all of that German blood, all metal and fire.
"Yeah, I did already know," Grace said quietly. Rory rolled his eyes slightly, sloping to one side and looking childish rather than annoyed. Why was he always the one who got ragged on? Oh, well. He didn't mind it from Grace or Roxy, although it was highly likely that if Ava said anything he wouldn't take it so well. He didn't like being insulted outright, and Ava seemed to be making the impression that she was the sort of person who would do such a thing. "It's nice to finally meet you." Grace was doing her best to completely ignore Ava, though it wasn't working very well. Rory had turned a wary eye to her, and was watching her almost as if her were afraid of her. He really, really, really did not need to be fighting with Roxy's sister at this point, and he was trying to avoid getting too peeved by Ava, who seemed to be sizing up his sister. Grace laughed a little bit at Roxy's comment, "Yeah, he does. He won't admit it though." Rory dropped his gaze from Ava to glare at his sister.
"Alford's plea!" he said, grinning. Grace grinned back at the almost-private joke, it was the same thing he'd said about a week before he'd gone out on the trail with Roxy. An Alford's plea, something they head both learned from their mother, was when you wouldn't say you were innocent, but wouldn't outright admit that you were guilty at the same time. Rory turned back to Roxy, eyebrows raised. There was that old curiosity, so ceaseless and rambling. He loved it, honestly. "Oh, he's exactly like me. Can't keep still for five seconds, screams at the mid-pole, you know," he said easily, with a little shrug, "I might enter him. I'm not sure, I've not worked with him a lot..." He turned to face Ava as she spoke, although he totally missed her flirtatious tone, one brow raising. Was she really that interested in the fact that he raced? Probably not, he thought to himself, but he answered despite that fact, "Well, yes... I guess I do now." He didn't mention that the first time he'd ever been on a track was when he was working with Knight not too long ago.
"That's awesome!" he said with a grin as Roxy raved about her new mare, "maybe I'll see you on the track some time, huh?" He was teasing lightly. Even if Roxy and he were competitors, he would still like her just as much if she won. Despite being a competitive person, Rory was no sore loser. Grace, surprised for a moment that Roxy even knew her horse's name, stayed quiet for a moment before remembering that Rory had stolen Romance to go on the trail ride. "Oh, she's fine... We'll probably be entering the shows soon enough," Grace had yet to see a sale horse that she really wanted, although one mare had caught her eye. She was likely to go take a look at her soon enough. Rory turned to Ava with his eyebrows raised again, surprised at her comment. Hadn't she worked out by now that horses were all ANYONE here talked about? "Yes." he answered frankly. Horses were just so easy for horse people to talk about, it was second nature for all of them. Even Grace was comfortable with the subject, and she wasn't usually comfortable with most conversation.

Roxy & Ava
Roxy and Ava had mirrored looks of amusement as they both watched Rory jogging in place. Scary as it was, if people were close enough to see their faces, they would be able to tell they were related. Roxy's expression however, quickly switched, and she bit her bottom lip, trying to keep from laughing. Rory always was on the go and never seemed to like standing or sitting still. Which wasn't bad, seeing as she didn't like to either. Well on rare occasions she did. But those were once in a blue moon. Or maybe a purple moon, those had to be way more rare, right? Ava's expression, changed a few moments later, though hers was more of a irritated. Simply because when someone couldn't stand still it greatly annoyed her. A shocked looked, the always seemed to happen more in blondes, covered her face. Though her sister answered nonchalantly. "Very true, it's always more satisfying end to a day if you never were bored." Roxy gave a theatrical sigh, but it was easy to see that she was faking it. Her brown eyes giving away everything. Oh well, no one ever said that she was good at acting.
With a small smirk lying on her lips, Ava nodded at Rory and Grace. "Yes, you seem quite pleased." Really, and people said blondes were done. Surely there wasn't people in this world who thought that the color of someone's hair actually effected how intelligent they were. Yet apparently, Rory was trying to be polite. Oh stuff polite, Ava scoffed to herself in her mind. Who needs it? Roxy shifted uncomfortably at the obvious dislike radiating off of her friend and his sister, and sadly, the dislike was non other than her own sister. Depressing to say the least, yet highly expected. Which was kind of why she had avoided any mention of having a sister. Truly a tragedy. Her chocolate brown eyes showed her obvious discomfort. She glanced over at her sister, trying to gauge her reaction. Ava knew she wasn't liked. But she wasn't likely to care, oh how would she so elegantly put it. "The opinion of poor people have little effect on me". And yes, she had actually told her sister that. And ironically, it was in reference to Roxy's friends too. History repeats itself, that much has been proven.
Roxy grinned, thought slightly confused at the two words that Rory replied with. She decided not to get into it though. Opting to just let that one go by. Maybe one day she would learn what it meant. Obviously, since neither of the siblings offered up an explanation, some day, was not now. "Oh?" She asked with a sly grin on her face. "What, you like to scream when you get to the mid-pole?" She grinned at him. Obviously, she knew what he meant. But hey, where was the fun in meeting friends at the beach if you couldn't tease them? "I haven't worked with my horses much lately either..." She replied regretfully. "Wings is a wonderful horse, she just needs someone to take the time to really tune up her talents." Ava, gave a small smile when Rory finally turned to look at her, if only for the fact that she had directly said something to him. She fluttered her eyelashes, and Roxy barely contained a grown of disgust. Which she did, and silently applauded herself for her self-control.
"Oh?" Roxy asked with a grin. "Sure, you'll be seeing our dust" Her brown eyes sparked and she chuckled a bit. She was competitive. Everyone who knew her well knew that. And it didn't take much time for others to learn. But one thing she wasn't, was a sore loser. If she lost, then she'd congratulate the winner. They won fair and square, it was only right. Roxy nodded at Grace. "You thinking about possibly getting another horse, or do you think you'll be caught up enough with Romance and your brother's own maniac horses?" She asked, still able to slip in a sentence so that she could tease Rory. What could she say, she never missed and opportunity to tease a friend. Which actually had gotten some people mad on occasion. Oh well, she shrugged it off.
Ava was getting highly annoyed with being so obviously ignored. Used to being the center of attention, she didn't take to it to well. However, she prided herself in being able to keep her cool. So that was what she was planning to do. Stay calm, at all times. "So... Roxy, you like him?" She asked quite bluntly. And yes, if you're wondering, she was trying to embarrass Roxy out of this world. "I would've thought that you had more taste." She commented with a wry smile on her lips. And disdain etched oh so clearly in her voice. Yes, this meeting her sister's friends wasn't going so well. But anyone in their right mind would've known this was how it was going to go. At this comment, Roxy's eyes widened, and a blush rose on her cheeks. Generally, she didn't blush easily. But her sister was HORRIBLE. And no, that is not an understatement. She grit her teeth and her brown eyes flashed. "I've got more taste, than you'll ever having." Roxy retorted in a sickeningly sweet voice.
